Arcaea8

Arcaea is a beautiful game with wonderful sound design the provides us with a definition for a premium rhythm game experience. There's a difficulty for every level of player, a well-balanced progression system for either beginners or experienced players, and a story mode well optimized for those willing to progress and refine their skills. The touchscreen mode is well-articulated, and the controller mode is balanced, but also much harder to play with. Separating controller potential from touchscreen potential was a good idea! It's disappointing that the game no longer receives support like the mobile version, but there are still DLCs purchasable on the eShop such as Ephemeral Page and Esoteric Order, and all of their collab packs up until the 2.0.2 update. Worth the £35. Take my money, Lowiro.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps9

Genuinely incredible game. Runs smoothly and stunningly at 60fps on the Switch's lacking hardware. Played the game for long enough to only have good things to say about the remarkable sound design and beautiful art. The best Switch port I've seen to date.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom10
Aug 8, 2023
This game is one of the best games ever created, and I hate that this has been review bombed by people that are salty about its $70 price tag (worth it by the way), or the fact that it reuses assets from Breath of the Wild, even though it is a DIRECT SEQUEL, set in the EXACT SAME TIMELINE! This was even showcased in the very first trailer, and people are still complaining about it now. Tears of the Kingdom has just perfected Breath of the Wild. It's just objectively better in every way, and I loved Breath of the Wild. I put an ungodly amount of my life into that game, because it was just so damn good, and I'm doing the same with this game, almost 200 hours in already. It's a great game for escapism and extremely immersive. Despite running at 30fps 1080p docked, it still manages to effortlessly provide a breath-taking and enveloping experience every time I get back to my Switch. Highly recommend this game to all Nintendo Switch owners, 10/10!

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild10

This game changed my life, really. It changed my view on all video games, and I am strongly convinced that this is objectively the best game of all time. Best Switch game, best console game, best game. I have not been able to find a single other game that could out-do this, other than its sequel, Tears of the Kingdom, which takes everything that BotW has done and makes it better. The feeling of being overwhelmed mixed with the feeling of pure curiosity when you look out from the peak outside of the Shrine of Resurrection on the Great Plateau is just incredible. This game has so much for you to do, and half of it, you don't even need to do. You can just run to the final boss as soon as you've left the Great Plateau if you want to, as speedrunners have proved by beating this in only 20 minutes. Or, you can take the completely opposite route, and beat every dungeon, find every Korok seed, do every shrine, find every treasure chest, and beat every side quest. Even then, you probably still haven't done all there is to do. The equipment in this game as well, oh my God. There is just so much to find and use. Later in the game, you open up your inventory and you see all of these beautifully designed, incredibly detailed weapons and shields, the thing I miss about this game the most, really. 10/10, one of the best experiences I've ever had.

Splatoon 39
Aug 6, 2023
Definitely a better game than Splatoon 2. Much better graphics, and I love that we no longer have to wait on a loading screen for matchmaking, and have this cool little area to play in. The story mode is also much better, with some large, detailed and elaborate areas to explore, and the huge space rocket in the middle of all of the stages is just so daunting, I love it! More weapons, new levels, new stages. 9/10, a very high quality experience!

Splatoon 28

It's a Splatoon game. What more do you want? Very high quality fast-paced brightly coloured shooter game with a cartoon touch. A great multiplayer game, and really fun to play with friends. 8/10!

Very cool, the Super Mario Mashup is a fun little thing to have on top of your purchase. Also, not $40, only 20! As always, Minecraft is a 9/10. Only because the minigames are gone from the XBOX 360 and PS3 versions!

This is one of the best, most nostalgic video games ever. Bring back the minigames, Mojang! 10/10.

Fortnite5

It's fun for a little game with your friends or so, and can be quite engaging, but it's mostly so full of microtransactions and promotions it just feels pushy. The community is also pretty toxic. I can see the vision that Epic Games had for Fortnite, but it's just gone down the wrong road.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - The Champion's Ballad10
Aug 6, 2023
This is my favourite DLC of the two by MILES! Yes, the Trial of the Sword is cool, and you can get a double attack Master Sword with stupidly high durability forever, but this one has a MOTORBIKE! A MOTORBIKE!!!!! After getting the motorbike, I never had to walk anywhere ever again! It's got drift physics and it can jump and you can rev it up and... it's perfect. It's a very niche reward for doing all the work you have to do. Man, I love the one-hit obliterator challenge as well. Very fun beginning to the list of enjoyable quests you have to do afterwards. You also get a few exclusive memories which I think give the characters some more personality than in the ones in the base game. It was an incredible addon! 10/10, very much recommend.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - The Master Trials9
Aug 6, 2023
The DLC 1 pack is very good, especially for people that have played Breath of the Wild in normal mode for 400 hours, and are very into the combat mechanics of the game. It's perfectly challenging for intermediate and advanced players out there. Master Mode essentially becomes your main file in the end, and your normal mode file becomes this thing you can just aimlessly do whatever in. Master Mode basically just makes every enemy a tier up (red => blue, silver => gold etc.), allows them to regenerate health over time, adds these floating platforms all over the place with small treasures on, removes the anti-one-hit mechanic, and makes certain timings harder, like flurry rushes. The Trial of the Sword in normal mode isn't too much of a pain to do, but can be slightly frustrating at times, if you don't have all of the shrines. In Master Mode, however, OH MY GOD. It's extremely difficult, and almost unbalanced. I just barely **** through, but came out the other side with a completely different view on how difficult BotW could be. Highly recommend, 9/10!
