One of the worst games I have ever played. No wonder Phil Spencer is already apologizing for this disaster. How could they release this trash in this state? Beyond disappointed.
Dead Rising 4 is a pretty solid game and probably my favourite in the series to date. But I haven't beat the entire story yet but I am very close I think. The graphics and performance are pretty good from what I have played so far which is pretty impressive since there is so much stuff going on on the screen at one time. There are some frame rate dips though which is almost expected with hundreds of zombies on screen at points. The sheer variety of things to craft to add to the mayhem is impressive with about 50 or so different weapons. The power suit is also a hell of a lot of fun to mow down crowds zombies with! The main character Frank West returns from the first and second games spin off and he is hilarious! His funny comments really break up the monotony of killing zombies. The story has been pretty enjoyable as well so far.
Gears of War 4 is a decent return to the franchise after the abomination that Judgement was. The graphics are good, sound is good, game play is as good as it has always been if not better. The new enemies are cool and bring along with them a new variety of weapons and tactics. The story is decent good for bringing in a new team of characters with Marcus' son as the lead role.
Have you ever worked for a delivery service like Amazon or Fedex? No? Perfect game for you to relive the job you never had and never wanted. Literally a game about being a delivery boy in a post apocalyptic world. The enemies range from ghost like creatures, to humans to the real final boss... Anything that is larger than a blade of grass that you will trip over every 5 seconds if you don't mash the shoulder buttons. The gameplay is extremely dull, tedious and frustrating filled with only fetch quests and backtracking. On the plus side the game is beautiful and the environments are well crafted, the story is mildly interesting but the characters are bland only held together by the interesting actors that play them.... But it is all held back by gameplay that is HORRIBLE! Honestly, save yourself the money and just wait for someone to post all the cutscenes together on Youtube to enjoy the story without having to experience the awful gameplay yourself.
What can I say? It's a collection of 30 of the best games Rare has ever put out for $30. You can't go wrong here. I literally have nothing negative to say about this game except that I just don't like a few of the games. Which still leaves 27 or so games that are awesome. Probably the single best value for your money this generation. Even if this just had Conker's Bad Fur Day on it alone it would still be worth it as it retails for like $60-100 physical. If you like retro games, you would be stupid to not buy this.
I love Final Fantasy. But this was the only one I couldn't bring myself to force myself through to the end. Didn't like the emo boy band characters, the story was crap and unfinished, their DLC stories to finish the game is insulting, and the gameplay was BAD. Holding a button to attack and another to auto dodge is far worse than anything I could have imagined. Except maybe having summons auto kill things when you are dying. What a garbage mechanic. What was SE thinking? Worst FF game period.
I just recently beat bought and beat Nier at the request of a friend and boy did I miss out. When this game released I scoffed at it and passed it up because I thought it wasn't going to be good because of the relatively lower review scores but that was a mistake. This is actually an extremely good game. The story is very well written by Yoko Taro, the characters are all very original and interesting. Especially Kainé. She is awesome. But be warned. This game is not for the weak of heart, it will take your heart and crush it. So many sad and emotional moments in this game and the voice acting is done very well and compliments that. For a 2010 game the graphics still hold up fairly well. So did the controls. I never felt frustrated. Though it is a little dated by todays standards. The combat is very simple and one note, but it didn't really bother be because you can switch through a variety of different weapons, weapon types and spells to change things up. The game is also a decent challenge but not too hard as to turn away more casual players. This game also sports one of the best original soundtracks I have ever heard made by Keiichi Okabe. I find myself listening to it all the time on YouTube! If you haven't played this game, I highly suggest it if you can find a copy. I can't wait for Nier: Automata in March 2017! :D
Lost Odyssey is EASILY the best RPG's on the Xbox 360 and one of the best of the generation. I was blind sided by this game. It is a return to the turn form for the turn based RPG genre and proves that turn based RPG's can still be great! The story is fantastic and long. It has 4 discs!!!! I cried several times during this game and that says something. The characters and dialogue are all lovingly crafted and weaved an amazing narrative and the twists are interesting too. The graphics and soundtrack are very good as you would expect from the creator of the Final Fantasy series. I literally don't have anything negative to say about this game. I loved it from beginning to end. The characters are all great and have interesting stories and backgrounds. The combat is fun and characters grow to be powerful but not OP so there is some good challenge. This game is also now backwards compatible on Xbox One as well. Lost Odyssey almost deserves a perfect 10/10 but some very minor performance issues hold it back from perfection.
Dark Souls 3 is a great game. I love Souls games and this game did not disappoint me in the least. It isn't my favourite one but It is still amazing none the less and the DLC makes it even better! FromSoftware is freaking awesome at making DLC worth your time and money. I have already clocked over 250 hours in this game and I am still having great fun. The performance is nearly perfect on PC, the combat is tight, and the challenge is back in full force, the multiplayer summoning actually works, the story is pretty well done and finishes off the trilogy well, the NPC's all have interesting quest lines with rewards, the weapon, armor and spell variety is vast and the covenants are pretty cool and make for some insane PvP battles. Dark Souls 3 unsurprisingly gets a resounding recommendation from me. If you like Souls, you will love this game.
I honestly don't know how to feel about Tales of Zesteria. I don't dislike it, but I don't love it. It just falls somewhere in the middle. The game is decent and worth playing if you like the Tales Of games, but this game falls kind of flat compared to Xillia. The story is meh, the characters are meh but the dialogue is pretty funny in some places. The combat is pretty good but the transformations are cool but are just OP as hell and make everything a joke and it is one of the main mechanics. I wanted to love this game, but I just left thinking MEH.... I doubt I will ever play it again. But it didn't leave a bad taste in my mouth. There is still some fun to be had here.
Tales of Xillia is easily my favourite game in the Tales of franchise and I have played almost all of them. The story is fantastic, the characters are all likeable and original. The combat is fun and the characters all feel different and have a great depth of progression and upgrades. Combo attacks are so bad ass and make you feel powerful, but not OP. The story is very well done and there is some really emotional moments that got to me. Milla catches hate from some people because of her slight lisp, but I love her voice and character. The voice acting is very well done and the dialogue is very funny at times. I laughed a lot. Tales of Xillia gets a 2 thumbs up from me!
Bayonetta is back and she is more sultry and badass than ever. This game has the best graphics you are going to find on a Wii-U and easily the best combat. This game is the single best spectacle fighter I have ever played and Platinum Games killed it once again! Soundtrack is badass and the combat and controls are on point. I cannot recommend this game highly enough if you like games like Devil May Cry. This game literally blew my mind many times. You have to see it for yourself!
Souls games are my **** I love them. The challenge, the foreboding atmosphere, the amazing boss fights, the variety of enemies and weapons, fun combat, and engaging lore.... So awesome. Bloodborne brings all of this back and improves on mostly everything but stumbles in some regards. The graphics are great, little performance issues, great soundtrack, fun combat, the transforming weapons are great and original, the combat is fast paced, great fun and feels pretty fair mostly. The DLC is great and fixes a lot of the issues the game had at launch such as a lack of ability to farm materials. I highly recommend it. My only real gripes for this game was the broken multiplayer. The bell system was just completely broken. But it has been kind of fixed now. It is passable. Also the chalice dungeons are incredibly boring and monotonous until you get to the original bosses. Literally a horrible grind. But the game is still very much worth playing and purchasing. I still play it all the time. It is my most played game on PS4 by far.
Let me start by saying this is easily one the best video games I have ever played in my 32 years. I put this game off for a long time but I finally got around to playing this game. Everyone was completely right, this game is a masterpiece. One of the few triumphs in gaming and story telling. Amazing graphics, realistic and believable characters that you grow to love and become attached to, tight realistic game play and a riveting and engaging story. If you haven't played this game, you are doing yourself a HUGE disservice. Easily the best game I have played on Playstation in the last 2 generations.
I was excited for this game but even with quadrillions of planets but nothing of substance to do in the game besides the same boring and repetitive resource collecting. Quantity does not equal quality. This is the most boring game I have played in a long time. I will be returning it in a few days when I have some time to go to the store again. Don't waste your time or money with this over hyped garbage.
