People need to really calm down. There are a ton of 0s and 1s and 2s, scores I would reserve for games which are actually defective and don't work. Yeah I was pissed about launch, that wasn't very good of them, but IMO it shouldn't be considered when you're writing a tantrum review. The graphics aren't anything special, but the art direction is pretty decent. I'm not sure what their thinking on graphics was, possibly it was a concern about requirements. Now the key is similarities and differences to d2. The skill system is far more simple which is a shame, since I enjoyed really growing as a character and having the skills stack up. However, this does save me the tens of hours I had to spend reading guides on exactly what skill point allocation you needed to use at every level. This leads to more viable builds, and simpler character progression, but it removes the coolness of things like the hammerdin which took advantage of the stats system to make a spell initially thought to be useless an incredible killing machine. I do like the rune system, which seems like it will allow for some interesting combinations of spells and usages. I think character variety will be mostly about items, and what passives/runes you run with, more than any kind of skill build. The crafting system is intriguing, but I haven't used it enough to comment on how it relates to the endgame. I think the world structure is very similar to Diablo in terms of town and interconnected monster areas. Any complaints of increased linearity I think are due to the fact that you have more story tying together your quests, and actual map marker. You will see a number of people expressing their displeasure by using what I call "review centric cusswords", as in reviews that are their equivalent of cursing out the game; "wow inspired", "linear" "pay to win" etc etc. Is this the greatest game I've ever played? No. Is it a horrible abomination such that diablo would use in his own army? Also no. Since its about impossible to find an unbiasesd review on this page, I would suggest watching gameplay footage and deciding for yourself. As for you guys writing 0s and 1s, do you really think you're doing anything to the game sales?

Its good, well polished, quality sounds an effects, but there is virtually nothing to distinguish it gameplay wise from the first two titles except different weapons and enemies. The script writing is pretty hackneyed, and I didn't care about the characters at all. The multiplayer is a mixed bag. The deathmatch I don't think is much fun because it pretty much boils down to explosive weapons and shotguns. The availability of cover and dive rolls means you won't be killing anyone with your rifle weapons. However, horde and beast modes are pretty fun, and are a less aggressive multiplayer arena and should provide some good fun. Still, this game is not at all innovative and I will probably get bored quick.

Wow, I have to preface by acknowledging the immense hostility in the user score towards this game. I did not play this on the PC at the outset, but I have since been playing it, and although I hear it was incredibly buggy out of the box, patch 1.07 as it stands is wonderful. If you have the machine to play it, it is one of the more beautiful games for the PC, with a rich modding community behind it which tries to push the graphics even further. The controls aren't exactly great for mouse and keyboard, but it happily accepts the 360 gamepad, or you can use an emulator to use a PS3 pad. The game itself is pretty damn awesome, and I really have to stress how much better it looks than the console version, as well as having a "clip capture" feature similar to onlive's brag clip feature that allows you to capture and post the details of the random zany accidents you get into when crashing sports cars. I don't like that it uses the "social club", I despise all extraneous logins for any game, but you don't have to log in unless you want multiplayer. All in all, because GTAIV is an amazing game, and it really takes advantage of the graphical capabilities of the PC version, unlike so many ports (and I have to add, the graphics tuning utility is EXTRAORDINARILY friendly and informative).

Well, its a competent enough strategy game, but I defy anyone to play this and not wonder, "Why am I playing this and not Shogun 2 Total War"? I'm really not a fan of this style of game to be qquite honest, and other than civ, I rarely tolerate a TBS that doesn't let me control my own troops instead of auto-determing battles based on strengths.

Its not going to win any awards for voice acting, story, or overal originality/replayability but it is more fun than half of the huge studio releases I've played this year. It is amazing goddamn FUN. You are slaughtering your way through thousands and thousands of Orks, smashing their heads, disemboweling them, vaporizing them. If you love warhammer at ALL you will be thrilled with this. On a side note, the graphics are actually quite excellent, with fully rendered backgrounds in most of the environments, and a complete lack of annoying "invisible walls". Just wait till you get your hands on a jetpack, the game gives you a TON of mobility. The multiplayer is absolute hilarious chaos, and worth checking out even if it won't hold your interest like a COD or Battlefield title might. Overall an excellent buy.
