Chrono Cross is a very hard game to score. If you get into the nuts and bolts of how it connects to Chrono Trigger and Radical Dreamers is because confusing and most people will not understand it. I'm not even sure I understand it at the core. That said, my review is ignoring the relationship with the two above mentioned games. On it's own CC is an amazing RPG. It has amazing music, a great and fun battle system, and a unique and excellent story. Everything about it is superb. Well, almost everything. My only complaint about CC are the characters. There are way too many. Character development is nonexistent for most of them. Once you get away from Serge, Kid, Lynx, and Harle you start to wonder why these characters are here. Some have a little bit of story. Most have none. It's a shame because it had a lot of really cool characters. That's my only real complaint. Leveling up was kind of weird, but never really got in the way. In closing I suggest everyone give this a go. Ignore the connections and focus on the here and now. Kid's connections to the other two games are hard to ignore, but jump down that rabbit hole if it compels you to. Also, as a closing note; Harle is one of the best RPG characters of all time and I am still angry how the game seems to punish fans of her. Sigh.

I only played these when this collection came out. so, needless to say, I was a bit spoiled. That said I was able to out aside the changes that occurred in gaming over the years and appreciate them for what they were. Any real RPG fan needs to play these to see where the Final Fantasy legacy began. They are even worth playing just to see how far we've come. They aren't for everyone, but the hardcore RPG fans should feel compelled to play these. I was and am glad I did.

Chrono Trigger and FFIV together is (was) an absolute must have when they released. The Chronicles opened them both up to a larger audience of newer RPG fans. They are both absolutely must plays. I played CT on the SNES so I knew going it what it was. I had not played FFIV until this, so I was happy I was finally able to. FFIV pulled no punches and casuals easily could get beat into submission. That said if you're an RPG veteran you will learn and adapt. Chrono Trigger is just a great, basic, nuts & bolts RPG. Everything is superb. While both of these are not at the top of my list anymore they were at the time and still demand the respect as what RPGs should be. Both are must plays.

FFVI is the first RPG I ever played and still remains one of my all times faves (SNES). I played FFV many years later, so I wasn't able to fully appreciate it for what it was at the time. That said, anyone who loves RPGs need to play both. The anthology had a few issues, but nothing major. The new FMVs were absolutely incredible. The core games remained untouched. As it should be. Separately I'd give FFVI a 10 and FFV a 7 or 8. FFVI is so good it demands the highest score possible.

The game is perfect. How do you explain perfection? I point to my peers. This isn't some random 10. I just do not have the words to describe how amazing it is. If you love RPGs, SRPGs, and turn based combat you will love this game. It is that simple.

Honestly, this game deserves better than my 7. I gave it a 7 because quite frankly I strongly dislike Firaxis. Their incompetence and arrogance knows no bounds. The game is great. Any Xcom fsn will love it. It's really that simple. I can't get past Firaxis' issues. So, 7.

Skyrim was my first Elder Scrolls and I immediately became a fan for life. The game is nigh perfect. My only complaint, which is always my complaint, is I wish there was more character development and story. I want characters to matter. I want to care about them. Serana in Dawnguard was what I want from all main NPCs, but even she wasn't enough. Sadly, this is just how sandbox games are. Skyrim is as close to perfect as you can get. As for bugs and glitches. I don't care. I played this on PS3 and only had a few very minor issues.

Just signed up here so I have post this. I really enjoyed Destiny for a long time. Between nerfing everything and ridiculous decisions they made the game worse as time passed. Then Bungie began making it nigh impossible to be a solo player. Deej kept insisting they'd continue to support the solo experience for a very long time. Well, he's just a damn show pony and a flat out liar. The tide shifted for me when Taken King came out and Eververse was introduced. I've never been so disgusted in my life. I could not believe I spent $150 on this farce. I really tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but this was the last straw. People will pay for good content. Resorting to microtransactions just shows how incapable Bungie is of doing that. So, they add a gate for content which forces you to get DLC. Otherwise your character is essentially useless. I don't know what happened to Bungie (Activision?) but Destiny completely changed my outlook on games. I am now very cynical. I used to be happy go lucky and optimistic, but nowadays companies have to earn my money. I take very little on faith anymore. People quitting or being fired before release should have been a huge red flag. Their incompetence on having to rely on out of game assets to do things is also appalling. All of this is a damn shame, because Destiny was really fun to play.

I'm going to keep this brief. When I played NMS I got exactly what I was expecting. Now that HelloGames is releasing the content they said they would it just got **** will continue to do so. I did not expect everything at once. I read what HG and SM said about more content in the future. Again, I got what I expected. The only negatives I'll mention is the tedious nature of trying to get to the center. The map and distances were often unreliable. The route to center should take into account your max warp distsnce. Guessing and extrapolating the best place to go got old...fast. That's my only negative. I will never understand the hate for this game. To me people bought into the hype without knowing a damn thing. This isn't supposed to be Star Citizen or Elite Dangerous. From what I've read and seen those have plenty of issues as well. NMS's problem was hype. I personally blame Sony, and Sony deflected it back to HG when they know they (Sony) rushed HG for release. Sony is also responsible for most of the hype. I've been let down by a lot of games like so many have and I cannot fathom the hate train here. And I don't want to.

I lost my in depth review of DQB, so this is the short and to the point version. -It's amazing in every way possible. -"Minecraft with purpose." -Hoping for DLC -Terra Incognita is the only negative thing for me. I need a purpose when I play. A goal. I like building in TI, but the lack of goal or things to do is disappointing.

Up front this was my first journey into the world of Fallout. So, I can only draw from this game. I know many have played prior games, but my take is without that. I really enjoyed the game as a whole. There are always downsides to sandbox games. The main distraction for me personally was building settlements. This is where I spent most of my time. I would fully build and populate one and then explore in an outward spiral from Sanctuary. If I found a new area I fully explored it and did any related quests. After exploring for a while I'd tackle another settlement. As my exploration grew and I met the faction I would do those quest lines as far as possible. Then go back to my cycle. I avoided the main quest for a very long time. That's how I approached FO4. I explored, did quests, and didn't concern myself my the storylines much until I had conquered nearly all of the map. I've always had this same approach with Fallout and TES. It works for me. I felt no urgancy to do the main quest because quite frankly I wanted to explore and I knew it'd be there. I thoroughly enjoyed exploring and building each settlement and my goal was always 20 settlers at least for each one. The locations varied enough so I never took the same approach twice. I had a few hallmarks, but that is just preference. Brass tax. The only negative thing I can say about FO4 is the freedom probably took away from the urgency the main quest required. If they had time tables for certain parts, or even the whole thing, it would have been more compelling. I never expect a lot from sandbox games like this in terms of story. I play traditional RPGs for that. I play these for the freedom and open world activities that go with it. I played all four faction storylines to completion. The different takes on the main quest were interesting. The main quest as a whole was decent. I was not expecting anything game changing. I got whst I expected. For what was there it was good, but I wish there was more. The companion side stories were also fairly decent. Nothing special, but they did add to the characters. I honestly want more from companions, but I knew what I was going to get. I always want more character development. In almost everything. I'm looking at everything as a whole. I enjoyed every moment I have spent and will spend in FO4. I just can't shake the feeling it has unrealized potential. The world is huge with so many characters and possibilities. Posting this after all DLC is released makes me sad. I'd gladly have paid more for more. I can't compare this to FO3 as I've not found time to play it.
