The year is 2044: artificial intelligence controls all facets of a stoic society as humans routinely “erase” their feelings. Hoping to eliminate pain caused by their past-life romances, Gabrielle (Léa Seydoux) continually falls in love with different incarnations of Louis (George MacKay). Set first in Belle Époque-era Paris Louis is a British man who woos her away from a cold husband, then in early 21st Century Los Angeles, he is a disturbed American bent on delivering violent “retribution.” Will the process allow Gabrielle to fully connect with Louis in the present, or are the two doomed to repeat their previous fates? I've seen this described as Drama Romance Sci-Fi ThrillerI didn't see any of that. I think I'm losing my taste or something. I've heard that a symptom of Covid is a loss of taste. Can you lose your taste in movies? That's two in a row of bad movies I've had to sit through. This one I did take short naps through periods, waiting for a loud noise to wake me up. Another avant-garde artsy-crafty movie that can only be appreciated by the film critics. I can't see how this got good reviews. I thought with Lea Sedoux it would be worth watching. It wasn't. It didn't have a rating, but I'd give it a PG-13, maybe an R for the use of the F-word a couple of times. In French with subscripts.I don't know what this movie was about. I didn't understand the story or the plot, if there was one. I'm going to have to be very careful in picking my next movie.

A lot of action, some great fight sequences, great music and sound, and good dialogue between participants. However, there wasn't much of a story to hold it up. Great to watch, but over two hours long made it seem tedious.

A very well made movie about a courtroom drama. Very little shown of the actual affair in Chicago, only in flashbacks. An excellent cast, which involved many principal players.

Maybe I didn't see the same movie in Chicago. I was long, dull, and boring. There were only about 10 of us in the theater and everybody left when the credits began. Maybe there was a story there, but it wasn't very well told. I went to see it only because it was about to disappear next week, and I was taken in by the good reviews it got.

After seeing GET OUT I was expecting a lot more from this movie from Jordan Peele. It wasn't as clear and it was harder to understand and put together.

I've read many of Stephen King's books and have always been disappointed by the movie adaptation. However, I haven't read THE DARK TOWER so the movie was fresh to me. I thought it was good but not great. Since I enjoy his stories so much I wanted to see this even after reading many reviews.

I really looked forward to this movie. The suggested story of the future, a big internet social media, an outstanding cast with Emma Watson and Tom Hanks - and then the whole thing fizzled out. It was just plan-jane mundane. The scenery was good, the photography was good, the acting was good. It's just the story that wasn't any good. I was really disappointed.

This got many favorable reviews, so I rented it. It was a complete was of about two hours of my time. I came back to Metacritic just to read the reviews again, to see what I misunderstood about the movie. I still don't know what I missed.

I watched this at home - on Hoopla. It sounded like a good premise, and maybe it followed this premise, but not very smoothly. Of course it was about a "borderline personality" mental problem, and that's just how it came out. After watching about half of it, I decided it wasn't going anyplace - and if it did start going someplace I wasn't interested in seeing where it was going.

This was a very intense movie - a lot more serious than a lot of films coming out of Hollywood in the last couple of years. It seriously addressed the issue of life support. How much is needed and how is the decision made? It explores this from the viewpoint of several unrelated individuals - and a politician who must make a decision based on his political support, position, and future.
