MegaTagmension Blanc + Neptune VS Zombies4
Aug 3, 2016
MegaTagmension Blanc + Neptune vs Zombies is somehow a worse version of HYPERDIMENSION NEPTUNIA U: Action Unleashed. Menu navigation is a pain due to slow transistions between screen and load times when going through the character setup screen. The UI issues also extend to the game’s battles where the game does not in anyway inform you when your abilities (activated by holding R+one of the face buttons) comes off cooldown, leading to your character of choice being stuck guarding. While the game does have a large cast of playable character ranging from longtime fan favorites to new additions to the Neptunia multiverse the game punishes you for using more than a small number of them. If you try and use all of the characters evenly you’ll quickly find that you are far underleveled for the enemies you’re facing in later chapters. Pick two characters whose play styles you like and just stick with them throughout the story mode. I would heavily suggest taking Vert and Ram/Rom since these three have the best combination of abilities to deal with both large hordes of enemies and smaller groups or 1v1 boss fights. The only consistently good part of MegaTagmension Blanc + Neptune vs Zombies is the cutscenes between action stages. All the referential and pun focused humor seen in other Neptunia games is here and is as enjoyable as it ever was. If you bring certain characters for a mission you can even get a different version of the scene that plays before the action stage. If you are in dire need of an action focused Neptunia game then pass this one by and get HYPERDIMENSION NEPTUNIA U: Action Unleashed instead. While there is less story in Neptunia U the gameplay is far better in every respect.
