Initialy entertaining but soon getting very grindy. What is worse, is that the loot drop odds seem to get manipulated in a weird annoying way: Very rare items (6% and 3%) dropping way more often than a 15% item you marked as needed.
If only those rare items were needed more than once you could feel lucky but no, you only need them once. After all, an unlocked hero is unlocked right?

This game's potential is killed by the unintuitive user interface, the flow breaking dialogues and cut scenes and the way too soon "buy ingame money" push. Interaction with other players is too optional.

UPDATE: No use reviewing this since the servers are to be closed August 2023. Wildcard should have stayed on PC if they are too lazy to at least optimize the controls for consoles. And of course all the things I mentioned in the base game.

Not worth buying anymore since the servers will close down in August 2023. It was fun while it lasted inspite of all the bugs and glitches or the very poor community support.

ARK: Survival Evolved - Genesis0
Apr 7, 2023
UPDATE: Everything I previously commented on is no longer valid since support for this game will end in August 2023. Inspite this still being sold on heavy discount and some of the issues were fixed I would not recommend to buy it. While initialy rewarding the basegame with 7, the recent downgrades made me lower that score almost every update til the point I am rating this now. Reviewing DLC you never played yourself, is that actualy fair? Normaly no. In the case of ARK however, the effect on the basegame is rather disastrous. The DLC forced all basegame-only players to accept the "update" that was tailored towards PS5 specs instead of to the system most of us bought the game for. Call it good intentions, good but not smart. That same update broke many of the improvements recently made, like the pod mouse-over showing colour and sex. Not just undoing it but completely breaking it to the point you either have no information or wrong information. Fine, that issue was fixed after 2 weeks. But the latest "Fix" did not just made people loose acces to their new transmiters on striders (and so making it a very hollow addition) including the tribute inventory, it also broke one of the core mechanics of the game for all new players and people not having the DLC. EGGS WON'T HATCH ANYMORE WITHOUT THE INCUBATOR. Which engram is restricted to DLC buyers only and so cutting breeding away from the basegame. Playing online? You'll be depending on the goodwill of others. Playing solo? Good luck... This is unforgivable, therefor the DLC deserves the low rating of 1.

FINAL UPDATE: Due to the recently announced roadmap this game is not worth buying anymore, even if it's on deep sale. If you are still curious what you've missed get just the cheapest version since there's no way you can enjoy all the extra's from all additional before the servers are shut down in August 2023. And Sony: Please state in your shop that support for this game is limitted for just the next 5 months! A construction game with monsters and couch co-op, that was what sold us the game... Seriously considered asking a refund, this game is very poorly ported from PC to console: - User interface is not optimized for controler, no customisation. - Automatic language selection seems to use Google translate, hilarious but useless and annoying! - On a 4K screen the PS4 Pro is barely up to it's task when you got a few tame creatures around you in a solo game. - Building could have been great if you only had a bit more control how pieces are placed. - Creatures get stuck very easy in surroundings. - Walls don't protect you against attacks from outside, they only hinder attackers to come close to you. - Split screen... Is lituraly 2 half screens on top of each other with vital parts outside the frame! Host is getting ghost images from the guest, If one of the players enters inventory the other suffers huge framedrops and lag, both players at the same time in inventory is a dissaster, guest has to stay very close to the host, host gets no warning if he goes too far away from guest, and a few more things... But still, we keep playing. Concept is interesting, creatures look pretty good, day/night and weather is done decent. If only the UI would have been more optimised to consoles, if only the splitscreen was done better... If only players were not interupting other players actions in the inventory... We wanted a couch co-op but got a lazy, buggy PC port on console. And if those issues are there from start it is unlikely Wildcard even cares about solving the issues. Not worth full price, barely wort the 60% we got it for. (But we keep on playing for some strange reason) Update: We started playing online. Encountering more and more issues that are never fixed or getting re-introduced at the next patch. Servers not up to the task and a customer support that is understaffed at least. All in all I lowered my rating from the initial 6 to 5 and most likely going lower if the issues are getting worse by enforcing PS5 graphix on the PS4 servers. But hey, at least we have detailed doorhandles in 0.2fps on thatchdoors you only use the first days after starting a new character... Update 2: Lowered rating from 5 to 3 for the increasing ammount of glitches. On the brink of the launch of Genesis 2 the issues seem to get only worse. And CS is not able to deal with PS as a platform, demanding the use of non-platform hardware for sending "proof" of bugs while still not being able to restore lost items and/or characters in time. Initialy I was about to get it refunded but gave it a try, the state it is in now it should be delisted from PS4. WILDCARD, FIX YOUR **** ARK II? Prove you learned from the errors first.

First: Kind of sad they needed more than a year to get this game in a state that is acceptable for launch. And in all fairness, also kind of sad my standards are lowered to the level I accepted the modern way of "launch first, fix later" policy. With that out of the way, I just fool myself and pretend the game just launched last month and I do realy enjoy the world that is created. Not perfect, some glitches and chrashes. Slightly annoying when I need another reload but nothing gamebreaking sofar. If you are into the Cyberpunk genre in general you'll have a good time. The soundtrack of the city is impressive! Don't expect any groundbreaking new things, just a well created raw dystopian atmosphere.

Extended? No. Enhanced? Yes. Improved? This is open for discussions as usefull as discussing personal taste, some parts are better but others are just different at best. Cheap PC port, good deal if you never have played it but a ripoff if you have bought it in the past. Then again: If you never had played it until now, why would you play this now?

As an RPG/adventure/puzzle gamer I enjoyed a few rounds the last 2 days, casual random fun. Not my normal type of game, but hey, it's free ;) Pro: It's free, even no PSN+ requiered. Short rounds for a few quickies in between. Con: It's "free", wich means in fact "pay to win".

Technicaly this game is 1 or 2 generations behind scedule. Textures loading too slow, even during the cutscenes. Combined with the very limited renderdistance it looks just awkward. All in all graphicly so disturbing that the fun is missed. Sorry, this does not belong in 2020.

Got interested due to the aviation, wich kind of ****. Got bored with the story quickly, while it could have offered an intersting angle it was way too short to be called a story. Do not call the tutorial a story! Pitty, the gameplay and graphix could have offered so much more.

Gems of War6

This is the only free to play (actually "pay to win" or "pay not to grind") game I play for an extended time. Over the last few years a huge amount of grind has been added and the graphics have been severely simplified (uglyfied?) to be more fitting for mobiles. The worst about it all is 505 adding quit a few bugs every time they "extend" the game. A bit more beta testing won't hurt! Also, the UI is downgraded to become more and more a constant push to pay with flash offer pup-ups. But still, I rate it a 6. No other game got my attention almost daily, guild-play is causing a certain "bonding" (or addiction?) making you don't want to let them down. Deck-building is fun, the amount of content added is a steady flow, and the gems... The type of time waster I liked to play since ages... The combination of Bejeweled and MtG is what does it for me.
