Naruto Powerful Shippuden9
Apr 1, 2013
A game that does what it advertises. It doesn't have a huge roster, as you're limited to Naruto and Lee, but has interesting mechanics, a decent simultaneous story mode and, most importantly, is fun to play.

Pokemon White Version8
Jul 10, 2011
Very good pokemon game, with probably the deepest storyline to date. The playthrough take s a while to get used to, since some core aspects of the game have been changed. For instance, the pokemon you get to face in the beginning are all exclusive to this generation. The dual rival system is also a bit weird. Its most noteworthy addition, however, is very shallow and wears out very fast. The Dream World is simply boring, feeling almost like a chore. I say that, because to enjoy the game fully, you need to capture some Dream World exclusives.

Pokemon SoulSilver Version9

Excellent game, a huge improvement to the original Generation 2. There is little to add, since the game is a remake, but the way they handled the Game Corner is praiseworthy.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness6
Jul 10, 2011
Interesting storyline overall, but dated graphics and weird mechanics. Don't play this if you are looking for something that feels like the original games, as it's more of a dungeon crawler. Also the A.I. from your allies will make you cry.

Pokemon Platinum Version9
Jul 10, 2011
PokÃmon Platinum has a lot to show. Many improvements were made compared to the previous generation, and the heavily modified storyline compared to Diamond and Perl make this game a very good addition if you are into the series. The best part of it is the virtually infinite replay value, with many options such as online play and Battle Frontier. Sadly though, europeans must suffer from an empty Game Corner, issue that was thankfully addressed in the Generation II remakes.

Samurai Warriors Chronicles8
Jul 10, 2011
Extremely underrated game. While the gameplay might feel a bit repetitive, it's based off timing and precision. The storyline is very fun, and the concept of forging a hero is very appealing. The graphics are extremely good, showing what is the 3DS capable of, and one of it's only flaws is the lack of an actual analog input.

Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow9
Jul 10, 2011
Epic game. As almost every Castlevania ever released. The game is very fun to play through, and collecting souls is less boring than it sounds. The only issues are the dated graphics, which resemble too much it's prequel, and the somewhat boring and unbalanced alternative game mode. As that's gimmicky anyway and doesn't affect the basic gameplay, still a solid 9.

WarioWare D.I.Y.8
Jul 10, 2011
Extremely good game, although i still prefer the GBA approach to it. Touch-screen based games feel too easy, somehow. The D.I.Y. aspect of the game is a big plus, although the game shouldn't force everyone to invest so much time on them to unlock everything from the game.

New Super Mario Bros.7

Fun game, but suffers from a very short playthrough. The mini-games, while could be a bit harder, are a big plus, and nowadays i find myself still attached to this game because of those alone.

Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors 26
Jul 10, 2011
It is overall a pretty fun game. The score suffers though from the fact it feels like there were too few improvements compared to the GBA version, and because of it's severe balancing issues.

Super Street Fighter IV9
May 15, 2011
Very good port of a very good game. Street Fighter 4 was a huge update for the series, and Super Street Fighter 4 added even more content to what was already good.
The commands feel just right, and it's surprisingly easy to land special attacks. And it's a handheld fighting game we are talking about here. The 3D effect was very well used and looks beautiful in the 3D Versus mode, with an alternate camera angle.
While the Story-Mode gets old, with a pretty cheap boss(especially at higher difficulty levels), the game has virtually infinite replay value, with online play. And the Street Pass feature is an interesting way to boost one's ego by beating randoms with their strategically assembled team.
From my point of view, there are two major downsides in the game, which hold me from giving it a max score. The easy operation way of using the touch-screen should've had some sort of delay for using some special attacks. It makes it pretty annoying to face a Guile online, with the combination of latency and Sonic Boom/Flash Kick spam. Easily countered by changing the fight setup, thankfully. And the other downside, is the fact that we can't choose the spoken language from the characters. The English voices for some characters sound terribly overworked, and get old really fast. Get ready to hear things like "I'll get my revenge" or "Profound sadness" as KO speech from some characters.
All around a great game, recommended to anyone with a 3DS.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars10

Got this game on a whim, because of a bundle deal from Gamestop. The idea of playing a Tactics game early on the 3DS lifespan interested me and it was pretty cheap anyway.
To my surprise, the game ended up being one of the best Tactics games I've ever played, with interesting features like Return Fire and an intuitive way to deal with character upgrades(instead of experience-based, accomplishment based).
As many have already said, the plot lacks depth, but the game isn't meant to be played as a proper RPG. The fun is in beating the stages from the story mode and then the skirmish missions.
Truly a masterpiece, very good even without considering the fact it's a game from the initial batch of releases.
