I enjoyed this game / simulation for many many hours! I think one needs to be an aviation enthusiast or pilot to enjoy WWII Aces. If you stick with it and learn the basics in Dogfight mode, it will help a lot. Note the "lead time" on shooting a moving target is critical, especially in the X axis (left-right). Note that your cross-hairs turn red only after a bullet hits the enemy, indicating that you're in the correct bank and/or rudder input. Utilizing the following two tips helped a ton. Tip #1: there are 3 "control schemes" from which to choose. I found number two to be good, thus utilizing the nunchuk for everything (except the A button to switch between bombs and missiles, later in the campaigns). Tip #2: for beginner to intermediate play, I found a large rubber band to be helpful in holding the B button. You see, there are 2 speeds of game play. The default one is at least DOUBLE real-world. Holding the B button reduces it to what seems to be a bit slower than real-world (being a pilot, I know approximately how these planes should respond.) I guess they figured hard-core gamers would be quickly bored by the slow (real-world) speed. As for the V symbols pointing to primary and secondary targets, the choice of two colors was a great idea. Too bad they are red and dark red. Yellow would have been better. Watch them carefully. The program Loop and Roll maneuvers were worthless to me because you can't modify it mid-stream or do an Immelmann. But you can out-turn the enemy most of the time using bank and rudder. Last note: reading the instruction booklet helped. There are a couple of useful items in there.

You can spend 90 minutes getting to the last Round (Boss) on Easy settings. To save your progress, do NOT stop between levels. During a level, press the + button, otherwise next time you start the game, you will start at Round 1. . .. . .There are "High Scores" listed, but you have to get beyond a certain level before they save. When I got below 59 minutes, it started saving. . .. . . More Good: many levels of difficulty to choose from, anyone can play . . . . . . Control Tip: using the Classic Controller Pro with the "analog" stick gives you more fine control to move the "paddle" (and "fast" with the Shoulder button). But old Breakout fans will still be frustrated at the lack of control for aiming. Even at slow speeds, it's difficult to aim the ball. You can't hit the ball straight or anything less than about 30 degrees. But then, that's what Lasers are for!.. . .. . . It's definitely worth the $6 download price for several hours of distraction!

Best $50 I ever spent on my Wii and comes with a free (required) remote / controller. Hours and hours of fun for non-gamers (intended market) and even hard-core gamers can find something among the 12 games. Each game has "sub-games" and after you think you've gotten pretty good at it, there are some very difficult "stamps" to earn. If you're OCD like me, you'll enjoy collecting all the "points of interest" in the flight simulator, and while you're exploring that game, go ahead and shoot the white balloons. It remembers which ones you've hit... Some of the games require 2 remotes for 2 players, other games you can share. You definitely need to wear your wrist strap for some of these games, like frisbee golf. Another pointer: if you find steering the jet ski or wake-board difficult, be sure you are tilting the remotes, not just moving them up and down. The remote steers by sensing the TILT, not the height or separation. Nintendo has re-invented the Wii. Just add a small device to existing remote / controller, you get far more accurate input. Down-side is that games must be re-written to take advantage of the new sensitivity. I hope it catches on with developers.
