This season is all filler with even more contrivances than the previous two. It appears they had a two episode idea that they bloated into a full season with nonsensical side quests. This season would have a hard time getting advertisers for regular TV, but on a paid streaming service it is terrible. Plot holes, action sequences that were directed by children without any logic, and plot that cannot make any sense to anyone (tell an infant to go get help in the real world and see what happens). I would give it less but the CGI is pretty good, and the physical makeup (alien costumes) are even better this season. So Disney clearly upped the budget just to flush it away with horrible writing in the first two episodes.

I waited for the first four episodes to see if the claims about this being turned around under Matalas was accurate, and it is. While it is shot too darkly and some of the dialogue is questionable (using expletives), this is decent Trek, not Kurtzman garbage. This is exactly what those that got early access claimed it would be where episode four really sparks off the season into great Trek. I cannot wait for the rest of the season, though I do recognize that Kurtzman will be back in charge for Season four, if he can find anyone to invest in it. So there is little to no hope in this being good beyond this season.

Well this series is another flop. So boring many forgot about the fourth episode even being released. While many are still trying to cope and suggest that it is just getting started, they apparently do not realize that every THREE episodes is supposed to be a self-contained story according to the showrunner. So it failed the first story arc, and that is always the best they have to offer. I expect that over the next few episodes they will just go over the top with action and dystopian ideals being passed off as heroic, as they have already been suggesting (aka typical Disney writing).

All the "professional" reviewers giving this glowing reviews should stop trying to shill so hard. It is too obvious. This is only one bad episode, but being the premier and after all the missteps of last season, the shades of intersectional feminism (though no Mary Sues barely - since space mom forgets she is armed) could be a sign of things to come. If they make Rick the ultimate bad dad where Beths have to save everyone from him, Harmon will have to go into hiding.

Deep fake videos made for YT have higher production quality. This is not even fan-fic of Halo. This is someone that hated Halo's toxic masculinity, so they infiltrated to write this to "get even". Cancel your sub immediately and send them the only message they pay attention to. 1/10 . Fan Fiction is defined as an element in the story that has nothing to do with plot, that is simply there to titillate the audience. So everyone saying this is Fan Service is not using that term properly. If a scantly clad woman walks into a scene, jumps up and down a few times, then walks out of the scene. Or a heavily muscled man walks out, removes his shirt, flexes a bit, then walks out, these two examples would be Fan Service. The after credit scene in No Way Home was fan service, but since GG/Doc were integral to the story they are not fan service.

Written by the mentally challenged for children under five. There is no continuity for anything. An object will be completely destroyed in one scene, only to be perfectly fine in the next. This happens far too frequently. They claim that personality is something that is teachable at school, as an excuse to continually tell the audience that the main character is perfect. Continuity between episodes is laughable. What is established in one is invalidated or reversed with a single throw-away line in the next. On top the costume department is clearly on drugs, or the budget is so low they are forced to supply from a thrift store.

He needs slight girls to save him all the time, and he cannot remember to use the equipment logically due to contrived convenience. The dialogue is mostly childish and is strictly there to pad out the run time. Many of the details are comical such as being 12 km from the coast of a country is just STARTING to enter their territory, or a lot of packing tape on door handle of an apartment being proof no one had been inside (as if tape cannot easily be replaced). This was clearly not written by anyone that cares about anything other than sounding cool. You need to be especially twisted to think this kind of a bait & switch is acceptable. He should have just made a Teela spinoff series, for her own adventures. Instead he went to insane levels of pandering, and ruined what little remained of his reputation. In case that was not enough to warn you away, he also twisted it from magic to technology based. They neutered him so that he can hand off the mantle to Female Loki, as the original follows her around saying she is the best ever, and pretending that he fell in love in all of five minutes. This is not Loki, but a twisted and pale simulation by people that are more appropriate to fanfic than actual writing. Then there is the TVA, which cannot even follow their own internal continuity. Which means the viewer cannot trust anything they are told, or shown. This does not make for good entertainment except for those that cannot string together two cogent thoughts and realize that none of this makes sense. This show is basically trying to be Loki: Editors Chair. Anything that needs to happpen will, because the director said so, and this has now been retconned as having always been the case for the MCU. Nothing that we saw previously was due to characters making choices. Instead a bunch of aliens had already arbitrarily decided that you MUST do something in a specific way, to suit their purposes. All style, no substance, and the universal destruction of the franchise. Black Widow sacrificed herself for what this abomination of a show turn into a glorified paperweight! They actually thought it was funny, but the repercussions are total. Nothing matters in the MCU any longer. Then there is Loki. Remember the one from Avengers that was intelligent, cunning, and capable? Even though this Loki is from the end of that movie, they decided to make him stpuid, bumbling, and useless. The writers could not be bothered to review his powers, so they did not even know that he is the master of illusion, and could not be bothered to think about what he could do with the Tesseract. Instead he tries to act like Thor and just punch his way out of a confrontation, even though they clearly have advanced technology and power. No nuance at all. From Loki's perspective he was just Hulk-smashed for similar arrogance, so there is no way he would want to fight anyone at this time. Then we get to the **** who will melt you "if you started an uprising, or were just late for work". If this were being carried out by aliens the sociopathic nature of such an off hand remark would be plausible, but coming from a human just reminds you that similar writers were trying to make a murderer and terrorist sympathetic in their last failed show (FatWS). Also the **** are omni-powerful when convienent, and then pathetic and easy to defeat when convienent. How this is possible when they can rewind time was apparently too much of an ask for the writers. The Loki show is BOTH The Last Jedi & Rise of Skywalker combined in what it does to the MCU. The Infinity stones are pointless, time travel alone is somehow more powerful, and everyone in the entire Universe had their script written from the start. No free will, no choice, no sacrifice. If you fail to do it their way, the **** will just copy you and melt the previous you an infinite number of times until you achieve "their truth". Apparently this is a wide-spread Disney issue, not just a Kennedy/Lucasfilm one. In the first half of one epsiode they just destroyed everything that came before, or will ever come again in this MCU. #MCUNothingMatters

Alternative titles: The League of Extraordinary Women, or "The Woke, the Woke, and the Woke." The 10s are shills, and the 0s are people that trust Twitter charges without a shred of proof. Objectively this is Whedon trying to make amends for the gaslighting of his wife, for which there actually is proof. The premise for this show that only women were given powers to upset Government is nonsensical, as it requires a conscious mind and near-diety level powers to carry it out. Bad CGI when used, the amazing level of impossible tech yet none of the non-cast members seems to care about it when it is used right in front of them. Not to mention the Government that recognizes the special exist, but will not utilize them, just calls them a threat. Relatively small women (in muscle mass) slapping around men twice their size (literally slapping at times) destroys immersion. When they then pull something Batman would say no to, you shut it off and spend your time more wisely. Implausible, woke, and pushing the false narritive that the world is in a war of patriarchy vs feminism. These are the reasons it fails, not the claims of ex-actresses with 20+ year old grievenances that were taken to Twitter like so many before them which usually turn out to be falsehoods to generate attention and pity. Clearly an American written Anime, where convienence and illogical story beats are the prime elements. How a young girls with NO training are just as qualified as a young man WITH training, or why upgrading their mech never occurs to them at multiple points in the story when they are modular and instantly integrate, are just some of the issues. The cell shaded Kaiju and FX are another, as they clash with the much higher quality anime hand shading, and contrast in a very unflattering way. But the greatest downfall is the video game quality story where dangers are scaled to what the main characters are capable of handling, with both a Mysterious Stranger to save them (that convienence I mentioned earlier), as well as what appears to be an Akira type character (foreshadowed to heck and back again). The one raging question is why did all the tech have to be nuked in project Black? To keep the Kaiju from using it?!? Either that was terribly explained, or is just there for contrived difficulty. I am guessing the latter.
