"The Suicide Squad" is far superior to "Suicide Squad" (without the "The"). With a fun story but at the same time violent, the film pleases those looking for a more mature entertainment.

What to say about this movie? We have the incredible portrayal of Al Pacino as a veteran mobster with vulnerabilities, Johnny Depp in a less eccentric role than usual, Michael Madsen once again delivering an effortful interpretation, in addition to a good work of direction by Mike Newell. Also noteworthy is the instrumental soundtrack by Patrick Doyle, especially in the opening minutes.

This film is simply the best possible and impossible tribute to the King of Pop Michael Jackson, approaching his farewell tour. It can also be considered one of Kenny Ortega's best directing works.

A thought-provoking and pessimistic film, with competent performances by the entire cast. Unfortunately, the fanfare around this film is small on the part of the public, but in the future I believe that it will receive the status of a cult film.

It's very rare to see Pixar disappoint or deliver a film below a high standard, even more so in the eyes of the audience that watches it. By the way, "rare" is hyperbole. The only Pixar movie that didn't really catch the public's eye (at least critically) was "Cars 2". Although it doesn't disappoint in the dubbing (praise for the additions of Michael Caine, Eddie Izzard, John Turturro and Emily Mortimer), nor in the animation (Pixar never disappoints in this regard), the script is weak and even Michael Giacchino - one of the best composers of film scores from the last few years - delivers a work that is less than expected. "Cars 2" is so weak compared to its predecessor that it surprised the existence of "Cars 3" - but to be fair, "Cars 3", even with its problems, is still much better than "Cars 2".

Controversial in the critic's vision, Joker delivered probably the must gruesome (in a good way) movie of 2019. What to say about Joaquin Phoenix? His performance was legendary.

Despite being long, the film has a thought-provoking script and excellent performances by Robert Pattinson, Zoë Kravitz, John Turturro, Paul Dano and Jeffrey Wright, in addition to an excellent score composed by Michael Giacchinho and the stupendous direction of Matt Reeves. I do not doubt that in 2023 the film will compete for the Academy Award in the categories of Best Sound, Best Cinematography and Best Score (at least).

A nice film, with sympathetic characters and an interesting plot. It is worth mentioning the excellent dubbing, especially by Sandra Oh.

Controversial, but with great performances, very well directed by Martin Scorsese and an insane script by Terrence Winter, "The Wolf of Wall Street" has everything to be remembered for years to come. DiCaprio did a great performance as Jordan Belfort.

The third film in the Kung Fu Panda franchise is not as intense as its predecessors, but it is also far from disappointing, delivering a dignified end to the franchise.

If the first flime had already delivered some fun material, this sequel was able to develop very dramatic elements of Po's story, with the great (and underrated) villain Lord Shen, brilliantly voiced by the sensational Gary Oldman.

By far one of the best movies ever made by DreamWorks. "Kung Fu Panda" works from its protagonist as clumsy as charismatic, as its entertaining co-stars. The soundtrack made by Hans Zimmer and John Powell impresses.

"Rio" may not be one of the most impressive animated films, but it can be fun most of the time, plus it has a captivating mood.

Unlike the first film, "Rio 2" can no longer afford not as effective at entertaining viewers, although it is also far from a waste of time.

"I, Tonya" undoubtedly contains the best performances of (then) promising Margot Robbie and veteran Allison Janney, who earned the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role.

It is not easy to make a documentary that tries to portray with as much sincerity as possible who Marlon Brando was in front of or behind the cameras. And although many things deserve to be explored more, this film manages to go deep to show the melancholies and sorrows of one of the best actors of all time (if not the best).

Simply a movie that marked the history of cinema. Marlon Brando delivers a masterful performance as Terry Malloy. And their co-stars Eva Marie-Saint, Karl Malden, Lee J. Cobb and Rod Steiger are not far behind, especially Cobb, in the skin of the great villain Johnny Friendly. With a sensational script, a instrumental soundtrack by Leonard Bernstein and impeccable direction by Elia Kazan, "On the Waterfront" is simply a classic not to be missed.

Although not a spectacle, this film is a good entertainment, as well as being much smoother and more sensitive than many previous Adam Sandler films.

"The Adventures of Tintin" is not one of the best films directed by Steven Spielberg, but it's another great job in his repertoire. Highlight for Andy Serkis, who does a great performance as Captain Haddock.

One of the worst movies ever made in this century, if not at all times. Not recommended for people looking for smart content or who appreciate more elaborate parody movies.

This movie definitely does not have a development to match what "The Wizard of Oz" stands for pop culture. Where to start? Well ... Unimpressive songs, relevant characters from the original work being poorly exploited, new characters that do not attract attention, poorly developed script, great cast being wasted, bad direction ... "Dorothy's Return" maybe even catch the attention of little children, but hardly an older person will have patience for this film.

"The Shape of Water" is undoubtedly very well-directed, with Sally Hawkins, Richard Jenkins and Michael Shannon's stellar performances, a great soundtrack, a stunning visual and a script that, if not perfect, knows how to hold the viewer's attention.

One of the best Mafia films ever made, with a well-developed plot, great performances from Kevin Costner, Robert de Niro and - especially - Sean Connery, plus the magnificent Ennio Morricone'S score and Brian De Palma's great direction.

"Incredibles 2" is not as good as its predecessor, but it delivers a decent sequel and a great script that does not distance itself from the qualities and positives of the first film.

A beautiful story, with great references to the origin of the cinema and with captivating and friendly characters.

"The Emperor's New Groove" is a film that surprises not being as similar as the Disney films of the 1990s, but that does not make it less fun or less interesting. The main characters are cool enough to make sure the movie works to the end, especially the villain Yzma. The songs and the instrumental soundtrack by John Debney are awesome.

With such a simple and exciting development, Spirit ends up winning the hearts of the most emotional public with ease, as he tells the story of a steed trying to return home. With a soundtrack by Hans Zimmer and a quiet development, though far from fantastic, Spirit is one of DreamWorks' most underrated works.

The last film of the Renaissance Disney does not disappoint and delivers a beautiful and well-developed film, finishing this remarkable phase of the studio with a golden key.

The movie may even delight little children, but older audiences who have access to the play nowadays may like the movie more for nostalgia than being a good Disney movie. The animation (3D) is good, the dubbing is good but the script is not so neat and some characters are not as charismatic as they could be. But it's also far from being a bad movie. It's just "satisfactory" impartially speaking.

I never thought that I would see Will Smith deliver such an apathetic and dull performance as in "After Earth". The script itself is already an immense disappointment, not knowing how to work with the material it has. It's not even one of the worst movies ever, but calling it "mediocre" comes to be a compliment.

A film that is simply vexing, confusing and badly planned. It will not come as a surprise if you join the next "Worst Movies of All Time" lists.

Great Steven Spielberg movie. Leonardo DiCaprio showed that he was on the right path to becoming the actor he is today. And Tom Hanks has proven that it does not matter if the role is starring or supporting, it wins the public's attention. Christopher Walken also delivers one of the best performances of his career, in the role of the protagonist's father. Highlight also for Amy Adams, still in ascension at that time.

Although flirting more with a parody than with an alternate adaptation of Hercules' story, the Disney version for this story guarantees a good level of entertainment. It is worth mentioning the good soundtrack made by Alan Menken and for the great performance of James Woods as Hades.

"About Time" may not have the best of scripts (there are mistakes there that could have been avoided), but it has a good plot and knows how to make the public excited and thoughtful. Domnhall Gleeson was still on the rise at the time and grew a lot from that movie. Rachel McAdams delivers a cute performance, while Bill Nighy shines as the zealous and gentle father of the male protagonist. Even the then rookie Margot Robbie delivers a precise performance, although the character appears little and does not require much development. The soundtrack is flawless.

An underrated masterpiece. Tom Hanks, Tyler Hoechlin, Jude Law and - especially - Paul Newman toast us with great performances in a film with cohesive and touching development, plus a brilliant direction, masterful cinematography ... everything in this film works very well (at least in my opinion).

This movie definitely knows how to merge comedy, adventure and science fiction, toasting with the very charismatic characters played by Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, who are in perfect tune and have great moments of humor (although Lee Jones has a serious character in hands).

The third film in the Men In Black franchise manages to surpass the second film and, if it does not surpass the first one, at least the honor it. Highlight for the performances of Michael Stuhlbarg, Jemaine Clement and - especially - Josh Brolin, as the newest version of Agent K.

MIBII is not as interesting as the first film in the franchise, but it's funny and it satisfies its viewers. Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are still in fine tune.

One of the best adaptations made of a work by Stephen King. Andy Muschietti delivers a great job, with well-developed characters and Bill Skarsgard delivering a remarkable performance as Pennywise The Dancing Clown.

One of the best Brazilian films ever made. Wagner Moura delivers the most remarkable performance of his career, tied with his performance as Pablo Escobar, in the TV series "Narcos". Although he was not accepted by international critics as his successor, this film is spectacular and impressive.

One of the best (and most underrated) films of Brazilian cinema, with great performance by (then promising) Rodrigo Santoro.

Underrated by international critics, "Carandiru" delivers a very strong and difficult to digest film, not because of its violence or its heavy content (which is intense), but precisely because of the human portrait of incarcerated people who sealed their destiny through mistaken decisions that they took on life and they cost a huge price (what doesn't mean their crimes and errors should be minimized).

Transgessor. Daring. Violent. Exciting. It shows with authenticity the life of the inhabitants of the favelas of Rio de Janeiro. With a masterful performance by Leandro Firmino da Hora (curiously, an inexperienced actor at the time), besides the good performances of singer Jorge, Alexandre Rodrigues (protagonist of the film), Matheus Nachtergaele, Alice Braga (now known internationally), among others , and also a great script, able to tell several stories in a short time, without making mistakes in the development of any plot ... This is the Brazilian cinema. And this is the naked truth of many cities in the country, which, although it has many political and social problems, proves that it is not artistically limited as many Brazilians and foreigners think.

"Surf's Up" is not a spectacle, but it goes far beyond fulfilling its duty to entertain audiences. And he knows how to deliver an animated film that deserves more appreciation.

"The Corpse Bride" is not as much an animated film as The Nightmare Before Christmas, but it has merits. Tim Burton manages to deliver a fun movie and learn how to develop the elements and resources at hand.

"Big Hero 6" is not one of Walt Disney Animation Studios' best films - it was not even the best animated film of 2014 - but it deserves a lot of its prestige. The story, while not having the best development possible, works. The characters catch the audience's attention.

"Home on the Range" is not as bad a movie as much of the public says. But it is not unfair to consider it as one of the least relevant works ever done by Walt Disney Animation Studios, unlike what happens with "The Emperor's New Groove" and "Treasure Planet", which are considered underestimated.

"The Prince of Egypt" is by far one of the most underrated animated films. Maybe it's their Christian theme, maybe it's the difficulty of other studios in filming hit films at the time (DreamWorks was still going to grow a lot), but this is certainly a charming and touching movie. With an extremely qualified cast and competent animation, we have a magnificent approach to the history of Moses, without it being necessary to appeal to the appealing Manichaeism of transforming the Hebrews into pure beings (this is evident in a scene in which Hebrews throw stones at Moses) or transform the Egyptians into inhuman villains (it is possible to perceive this through Seti, Ramses and the Egyptian people who suffer during the time of the plagues). Hans Zimmer's soundtrack and Stephen Sodenheim's songs are spectacular, especially "When You Believe", which deserved to win the Academy Award for Best Original Song.
