So far that game is everything and more that I wanted it to be. Let's hope it stays that way, really brilliant and fun game to play with the family. Better than Trine, just as good as It Takes Two so far, but with more fun and enjoyable story.

Not just GOTY, but RPG of the decade.A masterpiece, not one without flaws, but one that shines despite all the flaws because the things it offers to the player far outshine the flaws hidden within.

A Simcade / Space Combat Sim at it's best. The game was initially plagued with plenty of technical issues, but the team has resolved most of them and continues to work on the remaining few. And the gameplay is just stellar. 28 ago the game was in a very sorry state to be honest, the gameplay was still great and deserved all the praise the critics gave it, but a lot of players got a pretty bad experience. Now most of that has been resolved and the game deserves high praise and a recommendation. The singleplayer is more like an 8/10 and the main reason why the game is half price instead of full. But the MP is pretty good as well and the game is a ton of fun and basically the genre reference for multiplayer dog fighting. Nothing gets close, the old classics like X-Wing vs TIE-Fighter, not Starlancer, not new games like Elite's Close Quarter Combat. This is the genre reference for team deathmatch dog fighting. And as this is the games main focus it is imho a 10/10. The best game of it's kind.

Best spent 12.58 this year so far. The stand-alone addon solves a lot of issues I had with the original PA, brings fresh wind and a much changed gameplay with its new units and simply transports PA into the Supreme Commander Age. The drama and the community and uebers way to deal with the hard trolling community? Bad as ever, but the game is rocking. The biggest issue that stays relevant is the AI, so if you are a veteran of RTS I suggest to buy the game on a discount, if you own PA already it is already on discount for you and is worth every cent of the 12,58 they ask for.

Asymmetrical factions, beautiful cut scenes, polished gameplay, decent mechanics, a unique approach for the storyline. So much potential. Wasted. Frustrating mission design, poor scripting, telegraphed storyline which always tells you what happens in the next 3 missions in advance because it so obvious. Bugs and issues with region locks and match making. No replays or observer mode either. It really a game in westwood tradition with all the problems their products had and much less of the charm of their CnC series. And when I say frustrating mission design I mean it. Step over the wrong invisible line with a scout unit and experience the wrath of gigantic forces teleported right into attack positions. If you are lucky you will not run into those triggers, but it seems like most players are not lucky and simply have to learn those triggers by try and error. Not really enjoyable to constantly reloading because of those issues. My tip: Save a lot, even when you feel like your dominating. Still if you like RTS games you should still get it, but if you are new to the genre grab some of the old classics like Supreme Commander 1 and its stand-alone expansions Forged Alliance or the Starcraft Series. You will enjoy those quite a lot more. To be honest the last few missions of grey goo were a torture for me and the most unfun gaming experience I ever had in a game.

RPS called it 'the best unfinished game of 2014', and in the first 50 hours or so you will be entertained and agreeing on that sentence. The Problem is in the next 50 hours or so you will realize that it is more like the best 'scam' of 2014. Don´t get me wrong, the game is worth its money, because it is so wonderful in pretenting. It hides it flaws, you just assume stuff is working, because why should it not? But the more play the more you realize that the game is giving you placeholder mechanics everywhere a long the way. Persistent universe? Yeah, kind of, except everything runs on p2p without validity checks, because the servers having problems to keep up with the data already. Multiplayer? Yeah, kind of, p2p, works sometimes and sometimes not, player communications is giving you often connection errors and other players not in the mood for pvp interactions simply disable p2p in their router and enjoy a carefree solo experience while officially still playing on the big persistent universe. Background simulation for the politics, faction standings, system control, etc? Only rudimentary working, but this you might only notice after weeks of playtime into the system. The game is of this kind of issues and would be considered by most developers an alpha build, but frontier is charging full price. And they seem to ask us for additional money if we want to test the coming new features like "Wings" witch should include the ability to group with other players, something that is not included in the current version of the game. The beta for that should start in march. I wish this game would have been build with more passion, attention to detail and with a real persistent universe in mind, but in its current state you it kind of broken. Most players will reach soon the point when a fun experience turns sour because of bugs and design decisions.

If you still missing this gem in your collection than I have good and bad news for you. The gameplay and story telling is still one of the best ever made, the atmosphere and lighting is still great. But you might get annoyed by the low resolution graphics, this is the only thing about this classic that not aged well. Still: if you like adventures you should play this game and explore at least one of its many possible endings, because the game is just as much a classic as the movie was.

Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance10

The game that makes Starcraft 2 look outdated. Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance brings a unique feature set to the table that should have set new standards to the genre. The user interface gives the user to stay in control even in the largest battles with thousands of units, all fulfilling their roles on the battlefield, from tiny. cheap and mass produced units up to the gigantic experimental units. True real-time strategy on small and large battlefields, a game that enables the player to really play out their strategies under constant pressure of battle. So far the best game the genre has to offer.
