As SS2 was one of my favourite game back in the days, I really looked forward to this version. However, I must say I'm dissapointed. The graphics and setting are good, but the gameplay... Slow and, to be honest, boring. I understand that SS4 is targeted towards casual gamers, but this is over the top - absolutely no micro is needed and the strategic depth is laughable. Multiplayer hasn't much to offer (beacause of the lack of complexity), yet the campaign is well-made and actually quite enjoyable if you don't look for challenging gameplay.

As an RTS enthusiast, I'm thrilled that I found this game. The economy, base-building and overall macro are similar to Starcraft, but simplified. Map control and unit control (micro) are super important - if you manage your troops and spells properly you can defeat an enemy army twice your size. The hero system and nature power system adds depth and replayability. As I'm interested in competetive online gaming, I haven't completed the campaign yet (but probably will, because so far so good), but the multiplayer itself offers enough to make Bannermen worth buying.

In my opinion, the best RTS game so far. Great multiplayer with unlimited replayabilty, great campaign and co-op scenarios. Top notch controls, good pathfinding and the best AI on the RTS market.

I really wanted to like this version... But the lack of quality-of-life features simply make it too frustrating to play. I understand that there are many that still enjoy SC1, so I guess Blizzard was afraif of changeginf too much to upset the hardcore community. Dont get me wrong, SC1 was a 10/10 when it was released in 1990s. But if you now want to do a remastered version, it is, in my opinion, vital to make introduce more modern controls and add quality-of-life features which RTS players of today have got used to. Otherwise, the remaster just becomes... pointless.

Like some others already have pointed out, Dune really was ahead of its time. Togeher with AoE, Starcraft and C&C, probably the RTS game that had the greatest influence on the genre as a whole. I went back and tried Dune2000 the other day, and still found it enjoyable (which was a bit surprising since both the early AoEs and C&Cs nowadays almost feel painfully frustrating to play).

The hard-counter RTS #1. While being quite similar to earlier RA games when it comes to controls and APM demands, RA3 got extremely diversified units, due to the rock-scissor-paper armor system. Although I for the most part dislike these kind of hard-counters I must say it plays well. It can get a bit annoying, however, when it gets hard to actually finish an opponent even though you're levels better. The answer seems to be to have a diversed army to begin with, but this of course hurt the strategic depth in the game. The campaign is, as in all RAs, very enjoyable and funny. After all, the C&C series focus on singleplayer/co-op rather than classic 1v1 multiplayer game, and RA3 is no exception.
