Forza Horizon 410
Oct 5, 2018
I've been a huge Forza fan from the start. I've so far loved every entry from both the regular Forza series as well as Horizon. When I originally got Horizon 3 I couldn't see how they could possibly improve on the amazing open world the devs had created. After putting a good amount of time into Horizon 4 I can easily say that I am more then impressed. The whole season dynamic is extremely well done and the open world set in the UK is simply beautiful. i'm still not sure if its a better game then 3, but as of now its equal. I can't wait to see what sort of expansions the devs come up with for this one.

I originally gave this a rather poor review after it sloppy launch. However Microsoft did an amazing job cleaning up all this games online issues in a relatively short time frame. They also realize they screwed up in releasing the game too early and gave Halo ODST as well as other goodies to people who bought it. Needless to say this is an amazing and complete package that has a value that cannot be beat.

Street Fighter V0

Being a huge Street Fighter fan this game was a major let down. For starters there was a day one patch that weighed in just under 6GB. This was supposedly to add new modes. Well im not sure what they added because there's so little content to begin with. No arcade more, a tacked on story mode which consist of a few boring still-shot intermissions and about 3 fights. Each character has one, but each won't take you more then 5-6 minutes to beat. Even then you'll spend more time watching the intermissions then anything. Then next we have a tacked on survival mode, and your standard training mode. So I figure i'd try the game online in hopes that its better, but wait, I can't. the game gives me a tough time connecting to servers to begin with and refuses to even connect to any matches. So I go back to the Story mode and decide to test a few characters. After each fight the game gave me a message saying I was disconnected from the server and I couldn't earn some kind of points or experience or whatever. About the only thing positive I can say about this game are that the graphics are really nice. However Capcom even managed to screw these up. Although its not too noticeable in screenshots, the game has some rather ugly shadowing on the characters. If you've ever played an old Sega Saturn back in the mid 90s you may remember the screen-door transparencies. Well Capcom seems to be a fan of these since they used them here too. While they do look a lot smoother then anything off the Saturn, it still looks downright ugly for a PS4 game and takes away from the rest of the graphics. In the end this game was a waste of $60. If you don't own it already, invest in Ultra Street Fighter 4 on any other platform instead. You'll get far more content, deeper gameplay and an online that actually works. Of course the PS3 still has the slightly annoying input lag, but at least the game is playable in online and offline modes.

While the graphics and overall presentation are nothing special, this game is. This is a fun little puzzler that fans of Angry Birds should not miss. You could do a lot worse then the $7 or so it cost for this hidden gem.

I've been a huge fan of the C&C series since the first. I even loved the underrated Renegade spin-off. When I heard C&C 4 was coming out I was beyond happy. However I held off on buying the game until I found it really cheap because it contains lame DRM which requires you to be online at all time. After finally buying it and popping it in I was very let down to say the least.. First off it plays nothing like any of the other games in the series. Building is nearly non-existant, as is mining ore. About all you can build is units from a mobile factory which each side has. You are also restricted no only by a very strict unit cap, but which units you can build as well. You see in C&C 4 you have ranks. Your rank depends on what units you are allowed to build. This means for awhile you're going to be stuck with a few weak as heck units. This is not only in single player, but multi as well. It makes things so unbalanced and needlessly difficult it ruins the entire game. This game is horrible to say the least. I don't usually condone piracy, but with this one I can say the pirates got a better version. Not only can they play it offline, but they didn't pay a dime for this crap. Seriously, this has got to be one of the worst RTS games I have ever played and I have played a lot.

A fun little puzzle/platformer that shouldn't be missed. Fans of the sleeper Live title Cloning Clyde will want to check this one out. Graphics are good, but run a little framey. Still, the puzzle based gameplay wins it over. I simply love how you can take over other characters mid-games to solve puzzles.

Hands down the best game of 2011. The game exceeds in both single, and multiplayer modes with tons and tons of content. You've got 4 player co-op in the games story mode, Horde mode, beast mode, as well as numerous other types of VS games. If you own a 360, then you need this game. If you don't own a 360, then buy one and buy this.

Toy Soldiers: Cold War9

I was a huge fan of the first Toy Soldier game so I was thrilled when I heard they were making a new one. Could it live up to the greatness of the first TS game though? Why of course it can. If fact, this game is better then the original in nearly every way. I especially loved the Rambo wannabe soldier which you can take control of. If you like tower defense games and cheesy 80s culture, then I strongly urge you to give this game a try. My one gripe was that the game seemed a little short. Still its a minor complaint considering how much fun the rest of the game is.

If you were a fan of past After Burner games then this one if for you. Its fast past arcade style flying at its finest. Those looking for a serious flight sim, or something like Ace Combat may want to look elsewhere. Sure the game is short, but its highly replayable and just darn fun.

This game is a must for all fans of classic top-down shooters, and fans of the series. If you like shooters, then you'd be a fool not to grab this one up at the $10 asking price.

When I found this game on XBLA a few months back I wasn't too sure what to expect. It seemed to have come out of nowhere. Anyway it was only 800 ms points and I like the fps genre so I downloaded it. About 45 minutes later I beat it on the normal difficulty. Needless to say it left a very very sour taste in my mouth. Where should I start? Should I talk about the lack of weapons? There are only 3 plus useless grenades. The lack of enemy types? There is only 3. How about the bad acting, or intermissions? Well, at least I got some easy achievements from my 45 mins. The developers couldn't even get those right. One would figure that when you beat the game on normal or hard (its not really hard at all) that you would get the achievements from the lower difficulties if you hadn't gotten them already. Nope, instead the game forces you to play though 3 times to get em all. Finally how about the games glitches. On my several short playthroughs of both the 360, and PS3 versions I encountered numerous glitches. These ranged from standard freezing, to doors that are supposed to open not opening. Didn't this game go through bug testing? In the end the only people who should buy this game are achievement/trophy ****. Even then I would hold out and hope they lower the price to $5 as as $10 is simply too much.
