One of the worst Vita games I've ever played. It seems fine initially but you soon realize the difficulty scaling is not designed for single player unless you go for a deliberately broken build... which I did not. I've beaten this game and it never improves. The final stretch recycles assets constantly and in a way where it almost feels like objects placed into environments that were left half finished. Absolutely nothing interesting happens during the climax, which plays out in a way where as a player I truly felt like my time was wasted. This game is a bore. I suspect it's better in multiplayer, but there's no reason to play this. The Vita can play any PSP game, and there's plenty more Diablo-likes there. You're better off looking into Warriors of the Lost Empire or Dungeon Siege Throne of Agony.

At the time of writing I haven't beaten this yet This is not Symphony of the Night. This is not Super Metroid. This is not Hollow Knight or any other metroidvania we have had come out in the last 5 years. This feels like an expanded version of the original NES Metroid, and I like it a lot for that. There are some problems, but a lot are alleviated with practice. here's the only grievances I still have after 6 hours of play and exploring about 55% of the map. -Teleporters/Save Points are usually not near each other and are not placed in the best places. It's a bit too easy to explore a new area, hit a dead end, and be unable to find a way to save and die, losing that progress. Save points are your truly only safe haven, as there is no part (at least that i have explored anyways) where a teleporter and save point are right next to each other with no enemies/obstacles in between, meaning even teleports aren't guarantees your progress won't be lost. -there seems to be an issue where the game will randomly not accept controller inputs. this mainly happened with the first outside room right after starting the game and a few other spots. This isn't acceptable and I hope it gets fixed, HOWEVER, it rarely (maybe once) actually impacted something i was doing in game. that's it really, i see a lot of complaints about the physics and the starting guns range you guys know if you practice and you also explore you can get upgrades that make the beam attack really useful for taking out tougher enemies right? I only use the standard gun on enemies that i can hit easily (getting below the jellyfish in the water area and spamming normal shots etc.) like there's upgrades for both hp and secondary ammo? also uh if you're still having trouble play on easy again i'm not even that great at games imo but this is 100% playable with about an hour of practice. it took me about an hour to finally beat the second boss after which, the game got a lot easier. actually here's a positive, you can explore and get things before it feels like you're supposed to. that's pretty cool Idk if this is worth $5, maybe wait for a sale. but out of all the free games i got during coronavirus 2020, this was the one that i'm most pleased with that also surprised me the most

After playing the disappointing Blue Shift I didn't have much hope for this. Both are developed by Gearbox after all. I was absolutely blown away. This isn't just a fantastic Expansion, this takes base Half-Life's lore, and builds upon it exponentially in new and interesting ways. With many assets entirely unique to it and a thoroughly enjoyable campaign, It's no wonder this is regarded as "the only Half-Life expansion that's worth playing" "Worth playing" is an understatement. In all seriousness, this might be better than the base game. I wouldn't bother with Blue Shift, but Opposing Force is an essential component to the original Half-Life experience.

I heard this was really bad and like yeah? kinda? It's not awful. It's extremely skippable because it's so short and ends with no fanfare. Kinda sad to see such a great premise was done so dirty. I think if this had been 4 hours longer It'd be an 8 instead of this. Honestly this got uninstalled after I beat it. No need to ever come back to this.

While the game does piggyback off assets and ideas from past titles a lot (something I think holds the game back a fair bit) every asset or idea here that is entirely new, reimagined or reinterpreted is excellent. Amazing smoothly controls and great music makes this the best 2D game since Sonic 3 and Knuckles, I can't wait to see a wholly original project from this team. And honestly, game was an 8 till I realized all playable characters can go super. Thanks for including that and caring so much. And yes, the Encore DLC is worth buying. Being able to play as Mighty and Ray alone makes it worth it.

Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin

Don't let the Anime aesthetics and tropy characters turn you off, every thing else here is simply amazing. from the varied levels and playable characters, this ends up being the beefiest Castlevania experience. Want a Killer soundtrack featuring new tracks and remixes of old ones, including some from other Konami series? Did you prefer the Japanese dubs from past Castlevania games? New Game Plus? Multiple characters and different ways to play each time? Immense amounts of polish and room by room curated game design? Portrait of Ruin has it all in spades. While slightly different and less mature than previous Castlevanias, Portrait of Ruin is a knockout in it's own right. If you're looking for a game more like Symphony of the Night, Order of Ecclesial is that way. For those still here, buckle up and be sure to never skip the cutscene before fighting Death. I Debated with my self for a long time if this truly was the ultimate IGA castlevania experience. While Symphony of the Night does take itself more seriously and as a piece of art might be objectively better, Portrait of Ruin manages to strong-arm it's way to the top with sheer amount of content variety, replay-ability and top-tier game design. Portrait of Ruin is a completed work from a Master of his craft.

69 achievements in 11 minutes I couldn't make this **** up if I tried. Look, this is trash. Oh look bad meme porn game for 25 cents on steam haha. Yeah I laughed, but this was a waste of money. The puzzles are easy and you will literally see everything the game has to offer in 11 minutes. If you really want a cheap porn game, go buy Mirror. That game actually has depth and effort put into it and is worth the $2.37 I paid for it.

I originally played the Vita version of this game. 2 Words Do not. Honestly I think this game is slightly above the original Revelations. I love the gaps it fills in in the universe, and I love all the new characters that get introduced. Some of the areas are very atmospheric and feature music that sets the mood for the creepy atmosphere almost perfectly. However, this aspect is spoiled in the Vita version due to sound compression. There's also set dressing that's missing in that version that I think ads a lot to the overall experience. Sadly, there are still some dumb moments that take me out of the immersion personally. It's not quite Resident Evil 4, but it's damn close. The gameplay here is some of the best the series has to offer, and it accents this game's Raid mode perfectly. While a lot of level design assets get recycled over and over again in Raid mode, the enjoyable gameplay loop makes it fun to grind despite the repetition. Having the game connected to **** and being able to participate in events and reap the rewards also makes the grind less painful (Something the Vita version completely lacks.) Overall, Resident Evil Revelations 2 is a great game in it's own right, but do not play the gimped Vita port. If you're looking for an intense Horror experience, this isn't it. But if you're looking for a great action game with heavy Horror elements, this is for you. ...That's my review for the PC version, and essentially every other version. I have heard that the switch combo of Revelations 1+2 has more content, and Vita owners should honestly play this game there, because this port to Vita is disappointing. I played this after the patch and while playable, it is no way to experience this game. Bad controls and a lack of support for the HORI Trigger grips is embarrassing and drag this game down quite a bit on their own, but the bad sound compression that completely destroy the atmosphere of some areas is unforgivable. MOST of the game is playable until you hit higher rank raid mode stages where the framerate takes a huge dive from too many enemies being on screen. Machine guns are near unusable (espically in raid mode) due to recoil not being adjusted to account for the inconsistent frame rate (In raid mode this can be fixed slightly with the use of homing ammo parts.) There is also a surprising lack of optimization, some raid mode stages contain weather effects that cause slowdown that should honestly just be removed for this version. Your health being at low levels also tank the game's performance due to the damage overlay (yes really, it was dumb in the base game and it's bad here. it makes no sense espically since Revelations 1 on 3ds has a similar effect that does not affect performance.) The load times for this version are also terrible, I have a weaker computer that can run this at a decent framerate on low settings (about what this version does) yet the load times on Vita are 7 to 8 times longer and can take up to 40 seconds each, especially in Raid Mode. While having no content cut outside of **** functionality might seem appealing, the game's technical performance, unintuitive control scheme, and audio compression hamper this rather underrated Resident Evil experience. While I can respect Capcom for putting this on Vita for Sony Handheld fans, this port just isn't up to snuff. You should play this elsewhere. There's better Vita games out there than this.

I bought this for $6 on sale. It took me 31 hours to complete all 6 of the campaigns contained within both standard Blood and Cryptic Passage. I got 14 of the 20 achievements and only missed 3 of the secret levels. I played on Lightly Broiled. Duke 3D Megaton Edition and Shadow Warrior Classic Redux were how I was introduced to the build Engine, and as such, I was willing to wait for Blood to get it's quality of life remake. is this worth it? For someone like me that doesn't want to mess with DOSBox and wants modern day quality of life changes in these types of games? Yes. I had a blast with this, and for $10 for 30 hours of a solid high, is awesome. There's only one level i played in all 6 campaigns i outright hated, and there's so many completely awesome levels you'll want to experience. I also think that other than Ion Fury (which I haven't played as of writing) this is easily the best of the Build Engine games. Yeah it's difficulty is brutal, and the hitscanners are frequent and annoying, but you should walk into this game expecting to save scum like crazy and die once every time you enter a new room. Learning to use all your weapons effectively is tantamount, and this game makes you feel as bad-ass as it's lead character each time you clear out an area. There's nothing more gratifying then using alt-fire to lob a stick of dynamite around a corner and see an enemy's dead corpse blast around the corner in response. Everything about playing this game looks, sounds, and feels **** awesome. It's also much more stable compared to Megaton and Redux. I only had 1 Crash and it was because I hit the windows key to look up help on one level. Not sure what happened but it hard-locked my computer to the point I had to improperly shut it down. In no way a deal breaker, but thought it was worth mentioning. Bottom line? Play this. Blood is the **** Just save often, and be prepared to die over, and over, and over again.

Ignore the completely **** Critic Review, this is an arcade perfect port and it's been a long time coming there's so much quality in this particular port that it warrants a buy, it's simply excellent in every way. i'd compare it to the same level of quality as the Sega 3D Classics line for 3DS and if you're familiar with those, yes, this game really is that good. need more convincing? i really can't say it better than i did on my r/vita post, so here it is in it's entirety: "PSA: Metal Slug 3 for Vita is the best version i have seen in terms of being perfect arcade/NEOhome ports, highly recommend and it's on sale right now Kinda a weird post but i thought it was worth mentioning i've bought a ton of different version of the metal slug games 7 on DS Anthology and XX for PSP 1,3 and X on steam and X as a PSOne Classic (PSP) all of those games have their own problems (except for double X) for how much they are like the original version in terms of sound effects, music, flow, etc this version is the closest i have seen to the arcade/Neo home port, if you've ever played the arcade version it's so insanely close to it i almost couldn't believe it, they couldn't even accomplish this in the steam version which baffled me if you're looking for the best version of metal slug 3 this is definitely it kinda a dumb post but i just wanted to put it out there since there's a ton of meh ports of these games and this one is far superior than all the ones i mentioned highly recommend if you are a fan, this is the version i have dreamed of and yes the blood is red, not white finally" i also had a guy ask me what was wrong with the steam version compared to this, makes sense as the steam version is very good too and for a long time was considered the best port. this is my reasoning behind why this is better: "really doesn't feel like the arcade version, some of the sprites are replaced with actual art, weird difficulty select, achievements are way too hard to get, glitches etc. this version has a ton of options in the anthology version some of the sound effects had been replaced with higher quality effects it just really didn't feel like it belonged for one reason or another, this version is literally the arcade version with lots of options similar to the neohome version difficulty button gauging 1-8 choose how many lives you have per continue (goes as high as 99) very good display options for pixel perfect presentation reminds me a lot of the sega 3D classics on 3ds, clearly they knew what they were doing this time makes me happy they finally nailed it, i've waited so long" I really don't know how better to sell it than that oh yeah, it's also cross buy?? so you get the ps3 version for free when you buy it, you can also play co-op between both versions seriously, just get this on a side note, i normally try not to rail other people for their opinions on this site, but i read the critic review and it contains LIES. this game does have save states, very good ones in fact idk how high the dude was that wrote that review was but his opinion is objectively wrong my best selling point for my opinion on his review tho? click the link to the site it's hosted on and scroll down to the user comments **** priceless
