Child of Light8
Aug 28, 2015
Child of Light is phenomenal, no more said. It has re-invented the turn based system that JRPG's haven't replicated since Final Fantasies were good (after 10) as this system allows you to think strategically before your next attack whether or not you can attack next turn or if it is better to defend against the enemy. You have two characters on the battlefield at a time all their skills different from each other. This comes in handy when playing on hard mode as you will need to alternate constantly making sure you slow them enemy down or speed up yourself, this is all based on a unique timeline system which determines who attacks next. The art work is a true masterpiece its colourful vibrant landscape contrasts the dark nature of the game perfectly. its almost watercolour-esque backgrounds rival those of Okami; really paints a picture for you while you play. My final thoughts on child of light, is that it is a visually beautiful game and has very compelling game play bringing you back every time you log onto the ps4, its battle system can mentally challenge you which you don't see much of nowadays in terms of gaming. I rated an 8 because I feel this game deserved it, it had adventure, side quests and so on but it did have very minor problems as I played along such as: when I got high enough Aurora was so tanked I never had to switch her out because the other characters levelled up without using them, I've never like that in games. Maybe a new feature they could bring for CoL2 if they make one, would be 3 characters or even 4 on the field at a time that would be amazing. Also I would like a sort of merchant in the game to buy potions because on hard they like to target your healer for some reason and having potions would be useful and maybe you could buy better weapons etc. Thanks for reading my review of Child of Light (Ps4) Ninjo

Injustice: Gods Among Us - Ultimate Edition7
Dec 14, 2014
Injustice: Gods Among Us is fighting game I picked up for free on the Playstation store as it was part of the deal of the month in December, so I didn't hesitate to pick it up. I did recently play Injustice previously on Xbox 360 but never experienced the story until now. The story is quiet interesting because you would usually expect superheroes vs villains scenario to play out, but you're facing off against other superheroes maybe because of manipulation or not agreeing with views etc. but I wondered before hand whether or not it would become stale fighting villains constantly until it switched and did well to keep it fresh. You usually play out 3 fights with each character until you switch to another characters timeline. The graphics as well as the game play has improved from the gen switch, as you aren't just drawn to the characters but the backdrop as well and because most things are interactive, seeing a heroes fly into a stone statue at full speed is that much more salivating. The game play compares to that of Mortal Kombat in the way its not as fast paced as Street Fighter and not as slow as Tekken but a solid middle, so you can expect to still link up combo moves if your good with a certain character. My final review would be the game is good and it does match up with other fighting games and is certainly one I will continue playing in the future. The stuff I didn't particularly like was a repetitive the story ;me as a timid DC fan myself I didn't appreciate the character switch every 5 minutes or so, I would much prefer a campaign for every character in my honest opinion. You end up just grinding the story out and when you're favorite character comes up but don't get to attached because they can be gone in an instant. I found the touch pads interaction too cheesy also. The game is a good purchase if paying and worth a try with this deal as its free at the moment. Love the variety of different outfits and a good solid roster. Thanks for reading m review of Injustice: Gods Among Us-Ultimate Edition (Ps4) Ninjo

Secret Ponchos7
Dec 5, 2014
Secret Ponchos is a top down shooter set in a mid-western vibe. It is an online only game with a nice variety of different characters and costumes, I downloaded it as I saw it was part of the Playstation plus bundle for December, so I thought I would review it as I've been doing it for the past free games that have come out on Ps4. So i'll Progress... As westerns go there isn't that much variety to choose from out of the couple that exist already; such as Red Dead Redemption and Call of Juarez to name a few, as you don't see that genre that much anymore. So I was relatively surprised to see a game like this pop up on my dashboard, I didn't know what to expect because there was no gallery for it, so I didn't have a clue in what I was playing but the artwork looked nice and I downloaded it anyways. The first thing I had to choose was what criminal I wanted to be, out of the 5 or 6 different characters on offer I thought that was a cool to have selection of different characters with different play styles e.g. Long range or close range depending on how you want to play. Also its not a compulsory decision; you can always change player if you didn't like a previous character. So as the game goes you play online in different game modes to increase your bounty I believe to level up your stats and costumes. What I didn't like, There is no tutorial... how can you play a game with no tutorial, as I was having to improvise with the different controls which I found irritating as I would like to know how to play the game before getting thrown into the deep end and playing with other people; getting shot from every angle of a clock face. I know its a new game so there could be an update for it soon, giving you a tutorial and instructions on how to play in the future. Overall I found the game entertaining at times and I did finish top the occasional game and was pretty proud myself for it. I love the different assortment of character models and how wacky the games can get online from just all-out brawls in the middle of the map. It's free at the moment so there's not much to complain about and I'm basing my score on if I payed for the game, as you may not be reading this in the month it was free and you may have friends pressuring you to get it. I personally found it fun for a game I've never heard of, and it's cool just to hop on this game for a couple of matches have a fun time. It's artwork is sharp and crisp for an arcade game and its game play is relatively clean also. So pick up your six shooter and get shootin' Thanks for reading my review on Secret Ponchos (Ps4) Ninjo

Wings of Vi8
Dec 1, 2014
Wings of Vi is action adventure side scrolling game made by Grynsoft. I enjoyed games such as " I want to be the the Boshy" before playing WOV so I kind of knew what to expect from the developers of this game. What I meant by "I knew what to expect" would be because Grynsoft's ability to leave a gamer defenseless crying on the floor with a bucket of ice cream is their forte, as their games have a certain level of difficulty that can drive some criminally insane haha...*Looks at a knife during this review... makes another sandwich* The difficulty of the game is something that can always be worked on with practice, until your stuck on the next part of the game a few seconds later. But its's vibrant and colourful visuals coincide with an awesome soundtrack to even suppress the tiniest rage you may have while playing. I like the fact they implemented a health bar system so you can take certain amounts of damage and not die in one hit, which I find cool as some of the bosses in the game a ridiculously hard. Also the customization of Vi is something I find to be a nice feature as there are several different item pieces as well to choose from. My final review of WOV would be it's a fun little game with some nostalgic highlights from games of the 90s; it as an old-school vibe to which I find is nice as you don't get that much anymore. I rated an 8 as I thought that was reasonable score for a side scrolling game, it has all the elements needed to succeed in the genre and can stand tall side by side with Boshy rather than beneath. With its stunning 2d visuals and soundtrack it can leave you in a good mood until you see the next room. It's not a 10 because i'm a noob and currently stuck and it's quiet expensive at the moment so defiantly purchase when there is a sale on it. Thanks for reading my review of Wings of Vi (PC) Ninjo

Battlefield 47
Nov 24, 2014
Battlefield 4 is a FPS made by Dice under the company EA. I picked this up only recently and have decided to make a review on it, I'll share my thoughts of the game as a whole and comparing it to its main rival's in the FPS genre and predecessors of Battlefield games. Battlefield isn't usually a game I pick up due to my interests in the more 'unique' and 'quirkier' games. I did play the 360 version of its predecessor Battlefield 3 so I had experience in the franchise beforehand. People who are saying that the graphics haven't improved or look bad are lying to you, it's a visually beautiful game and a credit to console, so from an aesthetic point of view it shouldn't disappoint. I did hear about the controversy when it first came out and that it was a broken game with dodgy mechanics but when I got on the game I had to do a 3gb update which I assume sorted out all the bugs within this patch. So it shouldn't be that much of an issue now. The online is what you make of it and how you play these particular kind of games, I like to go off tangent personally and go my separate ways from the squad. I had to learn quickly that you can't do that often as you're constantly running to the nearest support for more ammo etc. I also found out that not many people revive like they used to on 3 maybe because you have to unlock the defibrillators but I found that quiet odd while playing. I played the first mission of the campaign and I'm glad that I don't need to have two separate discs now to play either online or campaign which is nice. The campaign was unusually fun, I say that because I can't stand Army game campaigns as they have difficulties thinking of new ideas that haven't been done and the stories are ridiculously cliche, but yeah it was okay I know the campaigns enjoyment may possibly dip as I progress. In comparison to the latest Cod (Advanced Warfare) it still has the better graphics, even though its been a year later, so that's either a positive on EA's behalf or a negative on Sledgehammers. I personally couldn't care about graphics it doesn't necessarily make a good game in my opinion, I'd much prefer game play and content over graphics any day. The decision is up to you; are you a CoD fan or a Battlefield fan e.g. I personally can not stand CoD so I play Battlefield. I rated a 7 because after many years of playing Battlefield there is still not a tutorial on how to fly a Helicopter which I find annoying as everyone seems to use it and is forcing me to play game modes with no vehicles. Also this game is a 7 IMO because it wouldn't be a game I would personally recommend to anyone unfamiliar with the game as at times there is a lot of new information for new players to get used to. Defiantly a game for veterans of the Battlefield franchise and for newcomers don't play online until you know how to play the game to it's full extent because people will not give you any sympathy if you're new and you'll end up hating the game because of it hahaha Thanks for reading my review of Battlefield 4 (Ps4) Happy Hunting Ninjo

Escape Plan (2012)4
Nov 21, 2014
Escape Plan on the ps4 was part of the November free games for Playstation plus members. I it picked up very much like my Binding of Isaac review not really knowing what to expect from the game as I haven't previously heard of this indie game before. I was automatically drawn to the screenshots as the art style looked so beautiful as not many games adopt the black and white theme anymore, it looked a lot like Spy vs Spy at first glance but the gameplay is nothing of the sort. You may be thinking why have I given the game such a low rating when its been relatively good so far? The reason is the game itself is boring... Maybe harsh but this is why; it did not intrigue me in the slightest in didn't make me inclined to play on, unlike most other games it had no sense of achievement apart from walking, and solving relatively easy puzzles that you could solve with a Rubix's cube in one hand and play a game of "Guess Who" with an elderly family member with the right hahaha; They made it so obvious of what you to lift up and turn off etc etc. My final review is I'm glad I got it for free because I would be irate if I payed the £11.99 it may possibly go up too after the deal is done for the month, that's why I rated so low because that's what I would rate if I payed for the game. This game may possibly be more fun on the Vita but not on this console. Final words "Loved the art style, Hated the game" Thanks for reading my review on Escape Plan Ps4 Ninjo

The Last of Us Remastered9
Nov 21, 2014
The Last Of Us:Remastered was a game picked up recently with my Ps4 as part of a bundle. I did previously it on the Ps3 and thoroughly enjoy it's Campaign and characters. Not much has a changed from the either version accept from a graphical point of view and play style, the new features which were included would defiantly be the way the controller affects the immersion and realistic nature of the game; such as the controller's back lights to indicate your health status, torchlight and batteries placement sound effects which occur obviously when you're out of battery life haha. The overall game felt in my opinion a lot slower, such as the way people moved which in turn changed the battle system to a more realistic war zone. This was found evident in my first multiplayer game in "Factions" as I loved the online on TLOU and I feel it was so underrated and overshadowed by the amazing story! But yeah I remember my first words when I got in to the game was "F***ing this has changed" expecting the game play to relatively similar because Ps3 version was excellent in itself. Final review would be that this game is excellent, I rated only a 9 due to not really having any replay ability as I felt the good thing from your first playthrough is you didn't what to expect and that created such a good atmosphere while playing. Is the game much different from its predecessor? Not really, not much noticeable changes apart from minor things I've noticed. This game is a must purchase but not if you've played it before and are looking to play the campaign again, but if your looking to play online defiantly worth it for that because its so unique and nothing like any other multiplayer experience you would've ever had before. Defiance3
Nov 19, 2014
Defiance was a game I picked up for full price due to peer pressure from my friends saying it was going to be game of the year worthy quality, so my expectations were extremely high before I even held the controller. The game is opened world "MMO" I put that quotation because I wouldn't class it an MMO myself due to fact everyone looked the same and there wasn't much else to do but mission after mission which then to grind after grind. I played this on the 360 while this was a new experience for console gamer's they forgot to take into account that this is a console community and aren't used to MMO's this led to barely anyone using the chat or talking outside of an Xbox live party. The amount of time an Arkfall took was ridiculously long, I would be one of the guys dumb another to grind it out and sit back and hold trigger while I check my twitter feed, then the be a bombardment of people who come in at the last segments of the enemies health to get rewarded for absolutely nothing. My final review is this game isn't the worst game play is very mundane and expected; but it was very disappointing after all the hype that surrounded it before launch like a middle age man with erectile dysfunction it had the potential to be fun but in the end it flopped and left people crying haha. This game causes me to research any game before purchasing from any friend recommendation as they were the first to sell this game and I was left to play on my own until I found sense. Suikoden II10
Nov 19, 2014
Suikoden II in my opinion is one of the greatest RPG's I've ever played, and I'm privileged to be a holder of such a great game which I will explain shortly, the amount of content included in a game of this size is generally astonishing as you can max out over 30 hours on the story alone and still be gasping for more afterwards. I remember as a child playing this for the first time when RPG's where the FPS's of now; so I played the likes of the Final Fantasy franchise and Shining Force to name a few. So I didn't really know what to expect when playing, I was so attached with the characters and usually the toughest part of the game was selecting a party of 6 characters out the possible 50+ available. Sometimes I would dress up as the "Hero" and became closely attached to sticks that look like Tonfa's. The game seems a lot like a kids game but that view is quickly dismissed with the dark nature of the story with evil characters who kill helpless civilians and depressing hanging scenes. As I a kid I loved it surprisingly, though the years of therapy to make me socially acceptable again hahaha. My final review on this game would be to pick this game up and play it, if your an avid RPG fan and if your not you should defiantly give this game a try. You can also buy it as a financial investment because its price will defiantly rise the less and less there are available around the world. I'm keeping mine till the day I die, can't sell a game with such memorable moments plus its 15 years old and had it took long it can move out when its18 haha Thanks for reading my review of Suikoden II PS1 Ninjo

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth8
Nov 19, 2014
The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is a Rogue-like, action adventure game that I purchased from Playstation store for the price of FREE, this was part of the Playstation Plus monthly bundle. I came into this game not expecting game of the year quality just a little fun to past the time and be optimistic with a newer style of game. It certainly did surprise me the amount of enjoyment I got from such a simple concept, this was due to random changes in map and abilities acquired with every single play through. My first couple of games I couldn't really grasp what to do due to minimal instructions set by the game, but I guess that led to mystery as an overall. The certain aspects I enjoyed was the different variety of boss battles as I thought that a boss was advocated to certain level etc. I love the different array of powers also even if some are rendered useless its like a lucky dip you have no clue what is until you pick it up. It took me over 3 hours to complete my first play through due to trial and error and the certain difficulty the game possessed, as the enemies get progressively harder each level. I rated this game an 8, which I seem is a fair rating. As i'm basing it on a rating I would give it if I purchased the full game for people who didn't get it for free in the month of November 2014. Things I found tedious wasn't really a game mechanic but the luck system they implemented, by that I mean finding a level with a tinted rock (stones that contain items) and not having any bombs or explosions to get it, usually on the first level. One more thing but this is technically a positive; but when I unlocked Azazel I never needed to use any other character because he was so overpowered (You'll understand once you use him) Defiantly a game worth purchasing especially because its FREE! It's a game that reminds of games of the past and how the gaming used to be before the commercial mainstream FPS's etc. overall this game is epic and I thoroughly enjoy playing it as something different Thanks for reading my review of The Binding of Isaac:Rebirth PS4 BibleThump Ninjo

FIFA 156
Nov 19, 2014
FIFA... It's a love hate relationship from the whole of the FIFA community. What I mean by that is? Year in year out fans will purchase the game no question without hearing about new features etc. They have a right to do so as there hasn't been any significant changes to series since FIFA 12 gameplay wise. Sure their might be couple of updates here and there such as "Flag Movement" and "Linesman Face Twitching", Like I say it's nothing to write home about. OFFLINE GAME MODES The game will be generally set into Offline and Online game types which I will cover due to people having different preferences. The manager mode is essentially the same from FIFA 14 with global scouting and that which was kinda cool but tedious at times where clubs would stick a 16mil price tag on a player you scouted who had a 3.5mil price tag. I mean I spent all that time scouting them looking at stats and I can't pay the value of the player thats ridiculous in my opinion, i wouldn't mind maybe a couple of million extra, but its seems to random. The My Player smh, if you wanted the game for this game mode don't bother stick to other versions you have as its the same pile of mediocrity as it has been for the past 4 or 5 years. Of course EA believe accomplishments is a complete and fun way of player the game cough* sarcasm. ONLINE GAME MODES Ultimate team seems like the only game mode ever made where someone would sell their Nan to get the latest Inform Card, You spend half your time raging and swearing in divisions like you've been sent to the Tourettes ward in a mental asylum because someone scored a 90 min winner due lackadaisical defense which you had no control over, as a voice in the back of your mind saying you was destined to lose or the term "I'm getting EA'd" is the biggest excuse especially when you're in a party with multiple people. Also like every year you only chances of getting to play with high rated players is buying open packs to hopefully get a Messi and hoping your Bank allows you do go into crippling debt as EA laugh at you getting non rares after non rares, until you get a high rated player that sells for less than a street performers guitar case. In terms of gameplay expect pace and dribbling to be major factors, leaving most of the other attributes to made redundant, so grab that sweat band because it's gonna get sweaty. Pro clubs is OK, okay in the fact it hasn't changed at all and it's the only game mode you can't really get annoyed at because if your record is particularly bad you can always reset the club. So expect to come across disfigured players with large Afros and odd shoes and hand wraps, while you have to deal with their incredible speed and..... speed. My final thoughts on FIFA 15 (PS4) are that the gameplay is getting there, and is always compared to previous FIFA's where everyone has their preference and favorite from the series. If your a fan of FIFA and have money to waste, get the game but if you can't justify paying over £45 to get a game similar to the latter, wait a while until the price drops. All in or all I would give a offline modes a 7/10 due to minimal amount of rage I endured for playing online games, it's good to pass the time and play with friends. Online i would give a 5/10 due to my reasons above such as rage but that's why we buy the game and it's one of the few games that makes you like that, as you want to win and do well and when a loss happens it can lead to frustration, so it might not be a bad thing but my scores staying the same. That's why I scored a 6 as its for the game as a whole. Thanks for reading My Review on FIFA 15 PS4 Ninjo

Fallout 39
Mar 18, 2011
Fallout 3 is most definitely a must have for a new gamer to the XBOX 360. The basic storyline to the fallout is that you're born in Vault 101 (Can decide to male or female) where you live with your Dad (Your Mum tragically dies from child birth) and you see yourself grow up in the Vault this extends to when you're a one year old child and 18 your old teenage whens something terrible happens and you need to sort things out. I love the aspect in how you can do what ever you want in the wastelands (Basically the world of Fallout) without affecting the game storyline etc. You encounter many enemies along your journey this can extend to bugs like a Radroach and Super Mutants, the difficulty of these enemies vary on your levels and how you use your skill points effectively to create your own personal character ( S.P.E.C.I.A.L ; Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility, Luck) e.g. If your character has a high Charisma he is more likely to buy items for a low price and sell items for a high price. You can decide individual perks for character as you level up. My final analysis on Fallout is very good, as I love how it bases your actions on real life and the consequences you will get whether they are good or bad e.g. If you kill someone in the a town, the townspeople will consider you a threat and would like you removed. The reason why I didn't give this game a 10 it is because: 1. Being addicted to certain drugs can be very annoying if you are on a battlefield in search for medicine. (Can be cured by a Doctor: which I accidentally killed =) ) 2. A minuscule and minor fault with Fallout 3 not to seem feminine or anything but i would like to see what my character looks like from the front rather than the back because I'm partial to games were you dress up your character =) Hope you enjoy my review and buy Fallout 3! =D

Final Fantasy X9

Very good game, one of my favourites out the final fantasy series, even thought the battle system has changed. A big risk for Square Enix but they managed to pull it, 3D cinematic cut scenes really showed the quality of the graphics. The only disappointment would have to be Blitz ball, it is very hard to understand no matter how much you read the instructions.

I recently played this game with my cousin and I really enjoyed the game. But I always contemplate whether to play this game or not because in these kind of games you need to play with a friend, the single player mode can be quiet annoying as the CPU can use up a lot of ammo and need constant healing. Its an all round good, I would recommend this game to anybody looking for good multiplayer games.
