I played the previous Witcher games and also enjoyed them very much. Witcher 3 still set a new bar for story driven RPGs. Visually appealing, interesting combat, complex storyline. Truly engrossing.

15 hours in, and I'm still using the same sword that was strangely in my inventory when I first started the game? The vendors sell mostly the exact same stuff. The sidequests are all hunt or fetch quests??????????? Magic is something you can rarely ever use, and unless you dump all of the collected points into 1 spell you are better off mashing buttons. If you are struggling with a battle you just warp back and forth?????? What is that even? Then massive bugs. Save corruption, game resets. This is utter garbage.

It's like playing chess. Meaning you might not find out if you messed up until 10 turns later. And if you find out then you've lost everything and have to start over. If I could pick a word to describe this it would be masochistic. I did not find a sense of exploration anywhere in the game.

I would not wish this game on anyone even as a punishment. Pay for progression, which is still RNG. Abysmal accuracy on weapons takes any semblance of skill out of combat. Melee weapons are all far too weak to do any damage and oddly have tiny hitboxes.

Feels more like a DLC for Far Cry 3. I decided to review this game when I realized that I desperately wanted to kill Amita, one of the characters who is supposed to be giving you, the player, guidance. She's just a terrible, useless, and condescending person, and the fact that there is no way to kill her makes the game feel empty and artificial. The game runs smoothly, however the controls and the on screen control hints make it clear that this game was meant to be played with a gamepad and not a keyboard/mouse. Story writing turns what could have been a beautiful epic with control and choice into an unpolished and frustrating hallway simulator.

I love this game. It combines strategy with action and actually does require a bit of intelligence. The characters are kept more like the contestants of Smash TV, vague, such that the connection is more to the weapon of choice than a silly face. It perfectly melds action, and puzzles. Forcing you to use your brain, and not just go in swinging your weapon. A good portion of the challenges make you think, "No, that's impossible." And maybe it is, until you get a lot better. The skill gained during this game is really thinking and decision making skill. Only a couple of the endgame skills actually make your character a good deal stronger, and still situationally you may choose a few of the earlier skills anyways. The game looks great and runs great. The music sets the mood quite well. The multiplayer suffers from the connection quality of the host. If they have an open router and a good connection then it's a good experience for all. I don't see how it could be any other way. There are a few glitches, which forced me to reset the game a couple times, however due to the nature of the quick levels, I never lost anything of merit, and it never interrupted any of my multiplayer games.
