Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order10

Such a refreshing Star Wars game. Not since Jedi Knight have I actually felt like i was in a star wars game. Great storyline that kept me wanting more, and some really epic moments. Personally i loved the Dark Souls esque style combat, and checkpoint system. There is a good amount customization, and i like that there are multiple 'upgrade' moments throughout the game. Never been a big fan of 'metroidvania' style games, but it didn't feel unwlecome here at all. It always felt like a pleasure getting into new combat situation with new abilities, and i felt 'stronger' as the game progressed, much like you did in dark souls too. Returnign to areas later in the game was also rewarding when new unlocks became available. Overall, a fantastic star wars offering. The only downside, its seems there is a lack of a NG+ option. All i wanted was to replay the game on a new difficulty setting whilst keepign my unlocks - will just have to start a new game. no biggy.

Wow, people are really angry at the developers for some reason. Easily my favorite game of the last 12 months, but personally i really like coop games, where players have to work together, unlike what you find in typical FPS games. It's reasonably well balanced so far, and will only improve, as players improve. The game definitely changes as you improve, and get more familiar with your abilities and tactics. Whether you lik ethe DLC system, or the cost, blame that on the distributor. The developers made an excellent game. Still a few bugs that will get ironed out, and balancing will continue (and already has been implemented since beta), so i'm looking forward to the future of this game. When you start out, you'll find it difficult to hunt down a good monster before it has evolved, as you improve, so do your tactics, ad you'll get much better at it. This game improves as YOU improve. It has a lot more depth then people are realizing since they apparently have a knee jerk reaction to anything that isn't baby hand holding. If you like thinking coop games, rather then mindless shooting and camping, this is a goer.

Finally, a zombie game which ISN'T about combat. This game is about survival. Scavenging for survival, fighting for survival, and managing your resources, trying to keep people's morale up, so that they can help you survive. Combat is actually quite difficult and unpredictable, and human enemies are very dangerous. It's a refreshing change of pace. For once, you have to consider whether or not going into combat is even worth it. Combat costs you ammunition (if you use firearms) and medical supplies(for the impending injuries you'll receive) and possibly deaths. You need to weigh up the possible scavenging benefits to all of that. Especially since you don't get EXP from combat (which i love). Much better off sneaking in, scavenging, and sneaking out, then you are fighting. Very much enjoying this game, and definitely re-playable.

Titanfall8

A really enjoyable title. I personally haven't enjoyed the last few COD titles, and find Battlefield has never quite stuck it's hooks in me. That being said, i'm really enjoying titanfall. It's different enough, fast paced enough, and despite only being "6v6" it never feels like there's a lull in action. Campers/camping hadn't been an issue to date(hello COD) and the parkour movement system is really easy and enjoyable. The multilevel battlefields with titan's at ground level, and pilots at any level(often taking the high ground) makes for really entertaining fights. Personally, it has enough game modes for me... i can't think of any other specific modes that i would find necessary, that other similar games offer. the tried and true are here, and they work really well. The map variety really has an impact on how you play, and there's plenty of freedom on some maps to make calling in a titan only ever a tactical choice instead of the go-to choice. On other maps, titan's rule. Definitely a good game for those that buy Battlefield and COD for the MP, not the SP (honestly, i can't remember the last time i played through the Single Player campaign of a Multiplier game, eg, COD and BF unless there was an unlock to get.

NHL 129

As a fan of Ice Hockey in Australia, it's a tough sport to follow, and the NHL series has always kept me on touch with it which has been nice. However, i stopped playing it about 3-4 years ago, and got out of the loop. I was tempted this year, and bought NHL12 the day of it's release... and holy GOD did i make the right decision! Not having played it for a number of years, just means that all the improvements to the engine, and the realism are all the more obvious and glorious! I've been a big time Fifa fan, but i now can i say i prefer NHL 12 to Fifa. Never a fan of Be a Pro before, but NHL 12 is SO close to actually playing the game, i love it! (as an ex player that quit due to injuries, it's a WELCOME and GREAT addition to the game!), further, the HUT Mode has been SURPRISINGLY addictive, to the extent, that as a long time GM Mode player, i haven't actually touched it yet, due to HUT and "Be a Pro"... i can hardly believe it... Damn, i'm in love with this game... I Bought Space marine and Dead Island a few days before this, and i'm struggling to stop playing NHL , and i LOVED both of those games... I'd love to give it 10-out of-10 but it's not perfect... As near to perfect as i require however, and i'd thoroughly recommend it. I can't compare it to NHL 11, but for someone returning to the series, it's a GLORIOUS time to do so!
BTW, loving the board play, and front of the net elements!

Don't believe the 'pro' reviews... this game takes a lot of personal fitness and skill. Give it a try for yourself and decide. It's not perfect, but it's a solid fitness game, as well as a GREAT boxing simulator!
