This game is by far the worst point and click adventure game I have ever played. Extremely pretentious, no real puzzles or need to think at all, and it can be beaten in under a minute. The premise of the game sounded neat when I read it on Steam but this game is a ripoff for 20$, hell knowing what I know now I wouldn't even consider playing this game if it were free. To this game's credit, the way you explore the game, pick up items, rotate them, open chests, and cabinets is really neat. But that's the best part of this game, playing with items in the house.

Downfall (2009)

This is a horror point and click adventure game, with unsettling and creepy scenarios with lots of gore, nudity, and the occasional jump scare. There are different routes or options you can choose at plot points of this game that change how you beat the game and which ending you get. I think there is a total of 5 endings. The game is short, I beat it in a 3-4 hour sitting from beginning to end. The unique story and hand drawn backgrounds are probably the best part of this game. There are something like 70~ hand drawn pictures used for all the backgrounds in the game. Some of the backgrounds have vibrant colors, some are completely washed out of color, some are distorted to fit the setting of the game it really feels like it gives this game personality. There are no voice overs which was slightly disappointing considering this game came out in 2009 although one could argue that adding voice overs could ruin the creepy mood of the game a bit. I also wish that a bit more of this world could have been explored instead of having it be a 3-4 hour experience. I had several problems starting this game and googling my problems didn't help me at all. If you have any problems with setting the resolution of this game just set it to 640 by 480 in fullscreen. The game surprisingly fits this resolution well my only complaint about it was its hard to navigate the inventory at the top of the screen (but at least its playable!). If you liked this game try out Harvester Games' new title The Cat Lady, it makes reference to at least one of the characters in Downfall, although I still haven't beaten the game at this time. I enjoyed Downfall and rate it a 8/10, its worth your time if you are into Horror/Mature/Gore games, if you are interested in a different stylized game with its twisted hand drawn backgrounds, and if you are just looking for a different experience compared to your average adventure game.

The Black Mirror 2 is a good horror point and click adventure game. This game nails horror, and by horror I don't mean jump scares. I mean creepy and unsettling environments and events that are occurring throughout this game. This game starts out slow for the first 15 to 20 minutes than quickly starts to ramp up. You start in Maine USA as a different character than you played in the first Black Mirror game. While in certain areas this game feels like a step up from the original, it feels like this game is almost setting up the scene for the 3rd in the series in terms of story, characters, and setting. Graphically there is a big different between this game and the original. There is also the option to hold the space bar and see all the hot spots or areas you can click on the screen to interact with. You can toggle this on and off any time during the game in the options menu which can help you out instead of being forced to look up a walk through online which is a nice touch compared to the first game. Make sure to play the first Black Mirror game or you will be lost when the game starts referring back to the events and characters that take place in the first game. This is a good game but I feel like it doesn't have quite the same type of dark and gloomy environments that I loved in the first game. The Black Mirror series is worth your time.

The Black Mirror is a decent horror point and click adventure game and is the first game in a series of three. This game nails horror, and by horror I don't mean jump scares. I mean creepy and unsettling environments and events that are occurring throughout this game. This game is my favorite in the series despite its few glaringly obvious flaws. There are some big plot holes in this game and while I still enjoyed it despite of its plot holes, they really stood out as problems. Also there are 2-3 points in the game where you simply have to wait a given amount of time (20 minutes 1 hour) until certain items or events are ready for your character. In my opinion this is some pretty needless game padding simply used to extend the game. In the sequels they slightly address or hint at some of the problems with the plot holes of the first game and completely do away with these 'waiting segments'. This is a great game, I recommend this to anyone who loves horror. Make sure to play this game first and continue the series following with The Black Mirror 2 and 3.
