After finishing the anime, and enjoying it I thought I'd give the game a try. Having played Shin Megami Tensei games a few times in the past, I was skeptical about the gameplay. The battle system fails to impress me, and by far it is quite irritating to handle after playing for 3 hours now. Everything else about the game I enjoy, but if you're looking for an interesting tactical battle system than this game will bring much joy to you. Sadly the gameplay turned me away from this title.

Being a huge fan of FF games I dove right into this one too. I played it to chapter 6 the first time, and dropped it from boredom. I played it a second time and got to chapter 3, and dropped it again from lack of interest. The story didn't drive me, the characters didn't drive me, and better yet not even the poor adorable moogles and chocobo farm could help this game from being a failure. Yes, the music is **** let's not forget about those graphics, kids! I'll give this game props for its battle system, it was fresh and easy to control and to be honest it was the only thing keeping me in the game. The characters were hollow, and half of them I didn't even bother leveling. The story held no depth for me, it was the usual fantasy war story between **** somehow a group of teenagers with extraordinary abilities are the only few to save the world. Plenty of things could've made this game alot better for me, but sadly those things will never be.

Being a fan of Atlus games, and the Persona series I thought this could be pretty good. What interested me was the graphics and gameplay, and it was on sale for 20$ I didn't feel like I was making progress, I tried this horse **** for 10hours at level 10 I just gave up. I felt limited, and the story and characters didn't make this adventure any more enjoyable. The characters felt hollow and the voice acting didn't make social interactions any better. This game isn't meant for everyone, and I found out the hard way. I found myself constantly reloading save games and shutting off my 3DS, because if I didn't I'd have to sit through a Massive gameover cutscene and have some of my money taken away...which is hard enough to get as it is. My final comment about this horrible waste of time, is if you're a masochist or just have so much freetime on your hands to grind to level 20 just to defeat a level 2 **** my guest and knock yourself out.

This was frankly my first FF game and also my first Playstation 3 game. I was blown away by the graphics, story and characters. I've been playing it for years, and recently I just finished it once again. The game truly only as a one flaw for me, the open world map restriction was the problem. Being forced to go to different areas, and not return to previous ones was kind of irritating. But that problem is only subdued by the end of the game, when you can travel to only 3 different areas freely. Other than that, this game is a classic in my collection and most likely will always bring a nostalgic happiness for years to come.
