Dance Dance Revolution X7

The song selection for this game includes some very good sounding songs, and while you might not have heard of many of the licenses, most of them are good. The story mode also gets more involved. I disliked the removal of the shop, though, and this is the seventh DDR game in the PS2 series alone that does the same thing to different music. The announcer is also annoying; one of his lines takes several seconds and has actually made me lose some songs.

This was the first DDR game I ever played, and I still love it. I like that All Music is now a default option as it always should have been. However, the game doesn't bring much new to the table, to the point that the story mode got even simpler. Also, the DDR Universe song selection isn't what a lot of people are looking for, cheating you out of Pluto and many other good songs. If this is your first or second game, you should definitely buy it, but if you already own a few games, Stepmania with a USB mat connecter for your computer is much better.

Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix6

This game has a decent array of songs, and numerous arrow gimmicks that normal DDR lacks. It also has a coherent story mode, and while not the best thing out there, compared to DDR's lack of any plot it is definitely something. However, if you've already played DDR and become good at it, you will be disappointed if you are looking for added difficulty. Even the hardest song in the game is no more than an 11 or 12 on the current DDR scale.
