Petz: Dogz 28
Jun 4, 2021
When I was in elementary school, I had this game on two consoles. When I no longer had a ps2 and my parents bought us a Wii, I sold five of my PS2 games, one of the games being Petz: Dogz 2, and bought only one new game for the Wii, and that game was Petz: Dogz 2, as it was my favorite PS2 game I had every played. This game is absolutely NOT akin to any of the Petz: Catz or Petz: Dogz games that were available for the Nintendo DS. Petz: Dogs 2 is a fully immersive RPG. You choose your dog from a vast list of dog breeds, and the puppy of your choice can run around a large island, traveling to various places on the island, even leaving the island for new quests. There is a boss to beat in Petz: Dogz 2, who is the focal point of the plot. The player meets the villain in the beginning, the story is set in what takes about ten minutes of reading and skipping, and it is expected that you, as the puppy, will defeat him once you have finished hours and hours of quests and are strong enough and smart enough to do so. This game, like many RPGs, requires the user to learn to fish, learn to catch bugs, and learn to sniff to detect fruits or other things hidden in the ground. As the game progresses, you can also buy a wide variety of clothing, hat, and glasses options for your puppy. There are townspeople, technically townsdogs, that may give you varying quests and advice. Being for children, the game is fairly easy, but not meant for children five and under. It may not be as vigorous as The Legend of Zelda, but it is an extremely cute and decently fun game that I would recommend for anyone who enjoys easy-going RPGs that have 50+ hours of content and a wide range of areas to explore.

THIS is the game that made me realize I should no longer purchase switch games before reviewing the length of the game. It was difficult choosing a rating because I was torn between enjoying what there was, and despising the 2 hour length of the game. I think the absolute WORST PART OF THIS, and why I went with 6 instead of choosing 7, is that the game has a fake level system and fake progress. You start out as a so called "level 9" raccoon, so you would THINK that there is average level progression. Level 10, 11, 12, and so on. But there is no level progression. It's all part of the painfully short storyline. You never get to actually use your quadcopter, a product you "unlock" in the fake level progression.
It was 12.99 and I absolutely regret not buying the game on sale. I had so much fun playing, but it wasn't worth it for 2 hours of enjoyment and just about zero replayability. I wouldn't pay more than 5 bucks for this game. It's funny, it has a nice story, but don't waste your money on a game that's the length of a movie. For less than that you could buy, you know, an actual movie.

Untitled Goose Game10

This has been my favorite game purchase so far. The game takes about 40 hours to beat, assuming you're also taking time to have a little fun in the universe provided. There are multiple stages, set within a town, where you solve puzzles ranging from easy to difficult as you progress. I didn't find the game too complicated or tedious, and it controls very well. The physics in the game are 10/10. Heavy things seem heavy to the goose, and instead of carrying them, you'll find yourself dragging them instead. The goose itself controls surprisingly well. I feel like I can really zone out and "become" the goose I was always meant to be.
The game was very affordable, about $10 on the nintendo shop. The music in the background follows along with your actions and is one of the best parts of the game. I've redownloaded the game and played it multiple times, and I have fun every time. The game is hilarious, and now there is a 2 player mode that allows you to play with a friend, and we had an AMAZING time playing as 2 horrible geese. I hope they release a sequel or a similar game soon! I recommend this game to ALL switch users 12 and up.

I really like the story of the game. You're two aspiring actors, caring for an old theatre. I'm a theatre person and that made it even better. The pixel art is pleasant. I would rate it higher, but the action gets a little boring. It's a collection of mini games within a storyline, BUT the mini games becoming tiring while there is still a significant amount of story left. I whip this game out every now and then and play more of it, but the further you go, the harder it is to achieve the goals you need to achieve to progress the plot. Overall, I'm satisfied with my purchase and would recommend this game to anyone who loves theatre, performance, and/or pixel RPGs.

Seal Electric Railway8

This is a fun little game, perfect for when you're not in the mood to spend an hour on a game and want an interesting, mobile game style switch game. The tilt control works pretty well, it can be a little shaky at times, but it doesn't hurt the gameplay. The levels can be pretty difficult, and I wouldn't recommend this game for a young child. YOU DO KILL MANY SEALS IN THIS GAME. These railways really shouldn't be carrying seals anymore, they're too slippery. I love seeing the variety of seals, even if most of mine die, they're pretty cute and the game itself is humorous. I would recommend it for someone who was looking for a tilt control game or a cheap, quick game.

This game is one of the most boring games I've ever played. The only fun part is killing mice. It's an ugly game. The pixelised cats are cute, and nothing else. Everything looks exactly the same. Exploring isn't enjoyable. I paid about 5 bucks for the game on sale, and that's probably the perfect price. I was surprised to find that this game had so many favorable reviews. It's worse than Harvest Moon: Light of Hope. And that's saying something. I gave it a 4 because I like the concept, I like the animal artwork, but I rarely play the game anymore. I was only able to stand it for about 20 hours before giving up on anything interesting happening.

Overcooked! 28
May 28, 2021
This was the first game I downloaded for switch because we wanted a party game. It's very much that. The perfect, enraging party game. It's less about cooking, more about being in the right spot at the right time. Reminds me of a typical "diner dash" game. (I MISS DINER DASH) The only real issue is single player mode. You have to switch between more than one character, and the challenge isn't worth it anymore. It's not terrible, just more frustrating. Worth buying if you're trying to play with two or more players!

Woodle Tree Adventures4

Not the worst game out there for the price. I paid about $3 for the game on sale in the app store. It handles nicely, but the details are severely lacking. It's like playing a mobile game. The level selection isn't visually pleasing, but the tree is pretty cute. I wouldn't purchase it again or recommend it to a friend unless they needed a cheap 3D platformer. At least there is a decent amount of content for the price.
