I was positively surprised by Twisters. It felt refreshingly sincere and well made, which is rare for a sequel/reboot of a classic movie. The main characters are charismatic, and their chemistry feels natural and convincing. Seeing some actual romance again in a modern blockbuster was honestly refreshing. The movie also captures some of the cozy country vibe of the original. It is held back a little by questionable realism, and the idea of chasing tornadoes no longer feels as fresh and exciting as it did in the original film. Still, it was a very enjoyable watch overall.

The Dry is the kind of movie that not only keeps you fully invested while watching, but also stays with you long after. This is a testament to its solid plot and well-developed characters, with many subtle connections and details that you might miss on a first viewing. Eric Bana and Genevieve O'Reilly deliver excellent performances, clearly invested in the material and sharing a surprisingly convincing on-screen chemistry. It’s a film for viewers who prefer mature, restrained storytelling over flashy action, while still offering strong visual appeal. In an era where modern Hollywood often favors flashy writing, it’s refreshing to see such strong storytelling.
