The critics rating of 74 is simply unfair, it does not reflect the quality of this game in its current state (bug free). I played 50 hours and barely came across a few non important issues. It is true the story isn't a highlight and the driving either. But the combat is very satisfactory, great graphics, amazing world to exore.

I was never a big fan of CODs but this one caught my attention because of the WW2 setting. Well, it was also given for free in PS Plus so that might have something to do, too. I played a third of the campaign. At first, I thought it was awesome, the graphics are great in cinematics, there seemed to be a gripping story and I thought I would really feel immersed. However, after 2-3 missions, i started to clearly see 'I've been here before' all over the place. The action is always pushed to the limit with explosions etc, and it's always the same old 'clear the enemies - move to next checkpoint' that we know so well from ALL these games. I just lost immersion and stopped caring completely on the action, I realized the characters were also very empty and I didn't even know who was who (not that it mattered anyway). Great envelope (graphics, presentation, music), but a very empty core (feeling, engagement, uniqueness). The multiplayer , I lasted 30 minutes. It's just too fast and chaotic, and you need to train a lot to get competitive. I don't see the point on playing unless its with friends.

What else can you say about such an inmense and complete game. 7 years later, it has aged quite a bit, and after playing it now in 2020, it didn't feel as great as back then when it was released. This was to be expected, after having played next-gen stuff like RDR2 or TLOU2 in the meantime... This however, can't negate that this was one of the best games of its generation, and one that elevated to the next level what was possible in an open world environment.

I found this to be the most realistic driving game I've played since my days of 'Rally Championship' in PC. I haven't played that many of them, that's also true. But I found the driving experience way funnier than Gran Turismo, for instance. The only thing that left me a bit cold was the game modes, I tried the championships etc, but after 1 or 2 it started to feel repetitive and didn't have much motivation to keep going. Great driving game nevertheless.

This is an EXCELLENT video game that very effectively copies the Commandos formula (the best game made in Spain ever!), adding enough tweaks and variations to make it really interesting and with its own identity. It requires patience, planning, accuracy, and some brains. Just like the original Commandos. It is REALLY well ported to PS4, I'm playing the last missions already, and it has been an incredibly smooth experience. The music is so beautiful and immersive. THe characters and story are pretty good in my opinion, and just the feel of having 'specialized units' just like in COmmandos, brings so many great memories too. A must play if you liked Commandos! (and even if you never played it, you should give this one a chance)

The Last of Us Part II

User ScoreMarkos-
Oct 14, 2020
While I agree this game is definitely not perfect, the current 5.6 user score is simply absurd and does no favour to our own credibility (users) when we rate '0' a game that has so much talent dropped into it. The technical and artistic aspects of the game are simply top of the industry and in this regard improves the first part, leaping to a next level facilitated by the advancing technology applied to games (and probably a bigger budget too?). Playing this game is a gripping and highly enjoyable experience, even if the excess of blood and extreme violence kinda feels a bit unnecessary in some of the fights. The gameplay felt too similar (almost clonical) to the first game, which is not necessarily a criticism, as I find it to be well balanced, challenging and fun. So why should you change something that works great? My biggest criticism is the story and character decisions/motivations. As mentioned in many other reviews as far as I could tell, I found the 'revenge above all' motivation too simplistic, repetitive, predictable and even anti-climatic. It's an extreme survival world where I would expect people to focus a bit more on self-preservation with the minimal means they have, and avoid any unnecessary injuries etc as much as possible, as hospitals or doctors are not particularly available... however, we find ourselves constantly forced to put our character in extreme peril just to seek vengeance or something like that... It's a non-essential task most of the time, highly capricious at times, that made it difficult for me to really engage with what we were doing or why we are crossing (again and again) the city side to side just to ask for someone who might know someone, who might lead us to someone who hurt our friend months ago. When in the original Fallout I'm asked to leave the bunker to search for a highly critical and necessary water filter system that stopped working, I felt the reason why I was travelling post-apocalyptic wastelands and risking everything was 'justified' and necessary. Someone had to do it. On the contrary, most of the time in The last of us 2 I felt very disconnected with our purpose. Thi wasn't the case on the first game either, when looking for a cure sounded like an absolutely understandable objective that justified taking all necessary risk (no cure equals to no hope for anyone, so...). Also, way too many flashbacks in this game. Some of them confused the hell out of me, between switching timelines and characters, at some point I didn't know what I was doing (and even worse, I stopped caring!). In any case, a superb game. 8,5/10 for me. Due to the narrative flaws it doesn't reach higher. Technical aspects, art, acting, sounds, music, polished gameplay... so many things are close to a 10.

Its undeniable beauty and spiritual touch grabbed my attention from the beggining, but I didn't play the game through the end even though that was my intention. I quit after 10 hours approx. I felt a bit bored after a few repetitive fight attempts against certain colossus. It requires quite a bit of trial and error and when you defeat them is very rewarding. Still, I just didn't feel compelled enough to keep trying, and the way the game is designed, there's not much to do aside facing those single enemies. The scenaries are gorgeous, and the battles fairly epic and rewarding if you have the patience and desire to overcome them, but to some of us it might get boring or uninteresting as the only real thing you do is defeat colossus.

Truly family friendly game that does not bring many new ideas to the table but succesfully copies from older golf games. It is really fun to play and the ball physics and terrain reactions are very well made (realistic!). The other elements, particularly the characters and dialogues, are very cartoonish and childish so might not please the more serious audience but helps widening its appeal to virtually all ages. One little annoyance I experience is that it take ages to unlock additional golf courses, so you are stuck with the same ones for a veeery long while. Exploration feels real and it forces you to measure every step. It's violence seems as real as everything else, and feels justified in an environment where life matters little to most. It's stunningly beautiful and allows us to experience unique situations with (really huge) fantastic creatures. I'm one of the bunch in love with the game, after 50 hours played. Not a game for everyone, sure, but the game is unique in several aspects. One of the most important for me: it is the closest thing I've seen to a hiking game. Before starting a route, you need to plan ahead on certain supplies, the terrain, weather forecast.. And while on the route, you'll need certain navigational skills to be able to read what's the best possible route across a mountain or to cross a river or canyon. Then, you can use ladders and ropes to help you along the way, and will obviously need to tread carefully when walking or scrambling. But the "hiking" part is just a fraction of what it has to offer. You may choose to rely more heavily on vehicles (bikes and trucks), which will make things more direct but equally crafty. Planning efficient routes of delivery is equally important, and it can be so rewarding that you might be willingly spending time picking up other's lost cargo to finish their deliveries. Yes, some of us are doing that for fun, because it can be fun! It is very rewarding to offload a truck with 700kg of cargo on destination. And the story, sure, it is very intriguing and with a deep lore. But for me it's not the main attraction of this game, not even close. For me it is the adventure in the rough nature, where you need to survive and find your path across all kind of natural (and unnatural) dangers, and to do so, the game offers you a very realistic physic system and a full set of gadgets and tricks to overcome the different challenges. If you want simple, direct to the point games, where you don't need to be meticulous, yeah skip this one!

As someone who tries both PES and FIFA every single year, I'm of the opinion that this PES is really good. Yes, it is true that the game modes haven't changed much and the whole menu system is still far from brilliant (despite the clear improvements). Also, the Master League (my favourite mode) fails to add anything really interesting even with the new Manager story-like thing. But the main thing here is the actual gameplay, as usual. Controls and overall ball behaviour feels a tad more realistic than previously, with more chaotic and unexpected situations (just like real football). Playing versus the CPU does not feel too boring, as they go quite straight to the offense just like a human user would do, not frustratingly passing the ball around their defenders. Playing couch coop is fun as it always was in the old classic PES, and the graphics, phyics, player models... all really good. Ah, and the licence thing... just download the patches ;) A really good PES. Many things to improve in menu polishing, game modes and the situations where players seem unresponsive/asleep, but still a very strong entry and clearly superior to FIFA this year in terms of gameplay and realism.

This game is a 10 in so many aspects, and sets the new video game industry benchmarks in level of realism and detail, physics, and overall gaming experience. You can wander for hours and hours just to see where a river leads, looking for a new bird, or trying to hunt some rare animals in the mountains. It feels strange not to give this game a 10, seeing HOW superior it is to most other competitors. However, an essential core part of it, the story, fell in my opinion a bit short of excellent. It was kinda too standard or predictable at many points, and did not really grab or surprised me too often. Some characters are interesting, mainly Dutch, but it was not enough for me to consider this story line one to remember. The other element that I found boring was the GTA-like frequent shootouts, with the usual shoot and cover mechanic, taking down hundreds of enemies with ease. I understand they needed to maintain the action fueled by these moments, but I would have preferred some shorter, less crowded gunfights more based on pure skill or smarts rather than just abusing the shooting/cover mechanics that we used so much in previous GTAs. Still, the rest of the game more than makes up for it. It is a master piece for the most part.

I share the criticism to the dullness of many of the missions, and the repetitiveness of exploring certain type of caves, dungeons, etc. Also the NPCs feel mostly lifeless and predictable. However, it is still an amazing game in my opinion, mostly based on its scenery beauty, music, vastness of the world to explore, and basically exploration possibilities. It is extremely satisfying to start seeing this type of old-school RPGs being released for consoles, with a very fluid control system that doesn't make you miss the mouse that much. The game is a marvel, I would not say it is perfect, but it is definitely bringing a lot of top-notch stuff to the table. It is obviously comparable to the classic Baldur's Gate as that is its reference, but the game experience differs quite a lot. The story here seems more disperse and it might be difficult to relate to the playable characters as their context and personal situation is touched vaguely and briefly. You might only feel a connection 30 or 40 hours into the game, if you do at all. This wasn't the case in BG, where everything turned around you from minute 1 and that facilitated a more immediate immersion. So the world and lore will feel overwhelming and very disperse if you haven't played previous games in the franchise (as it was my case), but it definitely compensates that once you start realizing the vast amount of possibilities the game mechanics allow for, the interesting combat tactics, and the incredibly developed side stories and characters. The music is fantastic, the graphics are neat (although I recommend a very big screen, 50' or so if you're playing coop/split screen), and the gameplay generally fluid and intuitive. The learning curve is considerable but it helps that you only have a couple of skills to use for the first few hours. The auto split screen is a fantastic feature that I hope other games will copy soon, as it allows for an incredibly flexible coop experience. In conclusion, a must if you are into old-school, high quality RPGs and were dying to live such an experience using your PS4 controller instead of a mouse. Give it patience and the game will reward your time spent on it.
