Quite possibly one of the best retro remakes out there. It is a simple game with not many mechanics, but that's okay. It hearkens back to a simpler time when controllers didn't have many buttons, but regardless, this is a classic that has been heavily modernized to not only suit younger players, but for the veterans also. There's a lot to love here and I'd love to see a sequel or future remake of another entry. Could it have been better? Yes. But, for what was done and presented here, I'd say it's solid. Highly recommended!

A complete and solid remake of a lost 1994 classic that did not reach the west until nearly 20 years later. Its simplicity may seem a bit dated to a degree, but it is a perfect way to experience the original game in a new light. We recently received the best 2D games the series has to offer, so it's refreshing to see full 3D graphics for the first time in 35 years. If you like the original, you'll likely like this one too (if not more since it updates a lot of things). Perfect for newcomers and action game fans in general!

The best classic Mega Man to date! I was okay with the 8-bit throwbacks of 9 and 10, but 11 puts its foot down and pushes forward as if it picks up from the growth of Mega Man 8 after all this time. Highly recommended!

The best 3D Sonic ever made. I could not have thought of a better way to celebrate Sonic's 20th anniversary. A retro-revival masterpiece!

The best Sonic game since Sonic Generations! It deserves all of the praise it gets and is proof that passion can go a long way. I'm still in awe that a new Classic Sonic game exists in the modern day. Well done Whitehead and the team and kudos to Sega for working with them to bring this masterpiece to the light!

This is a solid remake of where it all began, The Wonder Boy series has seen a large revival as of late and it seems it was appropriate to have one of the core original experience. I'm not exactly a fan of the music as some of it sounds cheap, but there are some standout tracks. The core gameplay is there with running and jumping while being able to toss an infinite amount of projectiles to take care of enemies along the way too. The levels are more varied to look at this time with the addition of HD graphics and updated art style. Highly recommended for action game fans.

Shantae and the Pirate's Curse is a nice game with stellar pixel art and a wonderful OST. However, the level designs are pretty bland and seem to focus more on being chunky setpieces than actual levels. Dungeons are over before they should be and many overworld areas are barren. When compared to other games of the genre of past and present, this one just feels average to me. But, it's a solid entry in one of gaming's best indie series.

This game is really fun! But, it has some of the exact same issues that were present in Pirate's curse such as the repetitive level design looks and aesthetics, stale jokes and abilities. The gameplay is snappy and responsive and the music is okay, I just hope the next entry will be even better!

Without a doubt one of the best remakes I've played in recent memory. While the level design is the same and doesn't offer much new in that department, the new art style, music composition and the ability to swap between both at the press of a button is outstanding!

This is an incredible if not perfect metroidvania experience. A lengthy romp through green fields and dungeons that combines the best elements of previous games into one. Highly recommended for fans of the genre and arguably the best we've seen in ages!

Solid game with simple mechanics and hearkens back to a simpler time. Fans of action RPGs and oldschool platforming will likely find something to like here. It's quite an enjoyable experience overall. Controls are tight and many things I did not enjoy about the original are no longer present here. If you are a fan of the Wonder Boy series, this is a must-have!
