Conan Exiles

User ScoreLumabros
May 9, 2018
Gameplay: Conan Exiles has been in beta on steam for some time, and now makes its full debut on PS4, Xbox One and PC. I was given an Xbox One review copy, so my experience may differ from those other versions. In Conan Exiles, you get to customize your own character who is banished to the desert, to die for crimes they may or have not commit. Character customization is rather plentiful and offers many interesting choices. You can of course customize your looks, but also your voice, religion, and race. Once you finish the customization process, Conan the Barbarian frees you and you're off to start your survival adventure! The first hour or so of playing the game is really confusing and troublesome, the game don't hold your hand too much. You yourself must learn how to craft weapons, food, and clothing to be able to survive the harsh fictional world of Conan. The lands are filled with many dangerous terrains and enemies, so you need to adapt quickly in order to survive. Enemies can range from animals like crocodiles and gorillas, to rather stronger enemies such as troll creatures and large monsters. Some enemies require stronger weapons to take down, so a pickaxe my not always be the best decision. As the difficulty advances, you have must too. The map is rather massive, so different areas contain different food and resources. Overall, the game-play is what you would typically expect in an open world survival game, but the many different environments and enemies, keep the game engaging. Performance: Conan Exiles graphical aspects can look decent at times, and mediocre at others. For example, the environments generally look good and detailed, however everything besides that, looks half baked. Characters and enemies lack in graphical detail, and I know graphics aren't everything but it can actually be an eyesore in this case. Hair for most characters, looks un-renderd and almost silly. You got a lush jungle environment but your character sometimes looks as he is a rushed model. The lip syncing is also pretty bad. Almost always, words don't match with lip movement at all. It takes away from the adventurous feel. I played the game for a solid amount of time, and the frame is always an issue. There is a hefty amount of frame rate drops, sometimes it froze the game for a bit. For example, you jump, it may take a good amount of seconds to get down. Framerate drops and dips were the only bugs I have experienced so far. However, these need to be fixed soon, I know opened world games always contain bugs, but at least make it so I can play the game at a constant framerate. ETC: There is also the option to play online with friends or on servers. You can also rent a server if you want to play privately with some friends. There are a decent amount of servers to choose from, so have fun with it. However, I personally prefer to play alone. Overall: Overall, I believe Conan Exiles is a decent open world game that delivers on the survival promise. The game offers many challenges are test your wits of survival. The graphics are kind of disappointing for Xbox One standards, however most of my negativity comes from the games technical problems. These really need to be fixed and do affect the game-play, and can make it not fun at times. I give Conan Exiles a 6 out of 10. The game-play is decent overall, I have no problems with that. However, it's the technical aspects that make me weigh the score down.

The Way Remastered

Apr 30, 2018
Disclaimer: Before I start this review, I should point out that I will only review some of the first few hours of the game, because at some point after those few hours, the game crashed and did not save any of my progress, and as I will explain in this review, I did not enjoy the game enough to be willing to restart it. Gameplay: The Way is as I previously stated, a puzzle platformer, and luckily it is able to have a solid balance between eventful, fast-paced platformer moments with thoughtful puzzles. The platforming is quite challenging and you will die often, but it is never that bad as you are instantly sent back to the last checkpoint, which is always nearby, at the push of a button, similarly to Super Meat Boy. However, the platforms themselves are standard and occasionally you feel that all your deaths have come due to the characters slow somewhat clunky jumping. The puzzles in the game are clever and make you feel good when you solve them and they also manage to be simple enough that you don’t find yourself resorting to guides for the game. The only problem with some of them is that they take place over large areas that require lots of going back and forth which is made worse by the slow movement of your character. Story: One of the games biggest selling points is its story which follows Tom, a man whose wife has just died, but he has research from his work leading to another planet that holds the secret for eternal life and he plans on using this secret to bring back his wife. What I like about the story is that Tom never directly states his goal, but you can figure it out from reading his notes and watching the first scene in the game where he digs up his dead wife. Unfortunately, I cannot review the rest of the story because as I already said, the game crashed and did not save any of my progress, but I can say that it seemed intriguing. Graphics: The graphics are the usual pixel style that most indie games use and it does look good. Also, all the movements are smooth and the backgrounds are animated and lively. The atmosphere is also good and is reminiscent of Metroid, and there are never any instances of the framerate dropping. Overall: In the end, the game is very standard and though it does not do much that a bad game would, it does not do anything you haven’t done in another, more encapsulating game and it should also be noted that the big progress deleting crash that happened to me could happen to anyone which is likely as the game only autosaves and offers no way to save the game yourself. In the end I would give the game a 6.5 out of 10 and I would only recommend the game to you if you are particularly interested in it or really enjoy puzzle platformers. If you’re in one of those categories then I would say the game is worth your money as it is only about $11.99 and from what I have read offers around 7-10 hours of gameplay, hoping that the game does save your progress.

Bouncy Bob

User ScoreLumabros
Apr 30, 2018
Gameplay: Originally released on steam back in fall of last year, bouncy bob makes in debut on the switch. In Bouncy Bob, there are 2 main modes, 3 if you include tutorial. In the single player mode, you control an odd little creature called bob. You must bounce bob all around a semi small map to bounce on top of zombies to gain points. If you bounce on the amount of zombies the level requires, you move on to the next stage. That's really it, there are some power ups that shake the gameplay up a bit, but bland overall. The controls are decent, you press a button to jump and a button to hover up to reach tall places. It's really simple. The last mode included in the game is a multiplayer option. Originally I thought this was going to be a competition against other players to bounce on the most zombies, but I was wrong. It's actually a death match that can go up to 4 players. In this deathmatch, all you have to do is to bounce on each others heads multiple times until your opponent is dead. And that's all the modes, not a whole lot of variety here. Performance: Bouncy Bob looks pretty decent while docked and when in handheld mode. As for the bugs and glitches, I haven't actually encountered any. It's a pretty small game so i didn't expect much issues. Loading times are pretty short, that's always nice. And that's it for the performing part of the review, I dont have much to add on. ETC: I don't really have much more to say about this game, it's really short and you can see all it has to offer in about less than hour. The game does support HD rumble so you do have that option. But that's really it. Overall: Overall, Bouncy Bob is mediocre game at best that doesn't offer a whole lot. I mean, don't see any hidden potential this game could have had. I didn't hate the game or strongly dislike it, but I didn't really find it fun either. It's not broken, but it's rather bland and a bit boring overall. However, the price for this game is $4, so you really can't complain about the lack of content. I give Bouncy Bob for the Switch, a 4 out of 10. The game is not generally bad, but just a boring experience overall.

Apr 26, 2018
Gameplay: Originally I bought this for PS4 back in November but soon I heard there was switch version on the way, so I only played like an hour of the ps4 version. In this game, you play as the new kid who with the help of Cartman and the coon and friends, must go on a journey to build up your superhero franchise while encountering many crazy situations and enemies.SPTFBW is of course the sequel to 2014’s the stick of truth, and with this sequel, many of the games battle techniques are changed. Instead of still turned based game, you now have the freedom of moving across the board with the help of 3 partners to help you in combat instead of one like TSOT. Your fighting abilities vary on what super class you choose, such as Speed, fire, earth and ETC. As you progress through the game, you can mix and match different abilities from each class to improve your combat. Just like the last game, you can buy items to heal yourself, but this time you can mix and match items that grant you different benefits. I find this very creative but most of the time I don't really care to spend time on mixing and matching so i rely on whatever I pick up and my teammates. Performance: SPTFBW runs generally well while docked and undocked. The resolution is solid in both handheld and TV mode. However, there some minor problems that should be fixed. For one, the frame rate can drop from time to time during battle, and it can be an eyesore. However it doesn't effect the actual gameplay, but should be fixed. Audio is mostly fine, but sometimes while wearing headphones it dips and comes back, only with headphones so far. As for the loading times, they are a bit long, I feel that sometimes it can become annoying. Almost every time you start a battle, you have to wait for about 15 to 20 seconds before the game actually lets you fight. I remember in the PS4 version, that wasn't a issue, so for it to happen in the switch version, is a bit troublesome and should be fixed. Lastly, I want to talk about one major issue I had with the game and this only happened once but should be addressed. One Time while in battle, the whole game crashed and I was forced to start the switch itself. The game saves automatically so luckily I didn't lose any progress but that should not happened and I hope Ubisoft gets working on a patch soon. So, yes there are a few of performance issues that really need to be fixed, I feel like most of these issues can be fixed with a patch or two, so hopefully these problems won't exist in the future. ETC: Along with the game, all the current DLC packs were released. You can also purchase the season pass off the eshop. So, if you are itching for more south park content, you're in luck. One thing I like to mention, if you are planning to buy this off the eshop like I did, be warned. The file size is 17 gigabytes. Thats alot more than I was expecting. I wouldn't think for a game like south park, there would be a massive file size. So, if you are running low on space and want to buy this digitally, you may need to remove some games or buy an SD card. Overall: Overall SPTFBW is a pretty solid port. There are some performance issues that need to be patched, but the game is still fun and enjoyable. I give this port of SPTFBW an 8.5 out of 10. Most of the score was based off the technical performance that can be annoying sometimes. However, once that is patched, my score will most likely change. If you are planning to buy this game for the switch, I would suggest to wait a bit for some patches. I recommend this game to all fans of south park who want to play the experience on the go. If you own the game and beaten it already, unless you really loved it, I don't see much of a reason to buy it again.

Masters of Anima
8
User ScoreLumabros
Apr 15, 2018
Masters of Anima is set in a fantasy world where an epic battle between good and evil took place long ago with a group of sorcerers named the Shapers striving to defeat the evil Mount Spark. You are Otto, an apprentice Shaper of Anima, who simply seek to marry your fiance, Ana. The problem is that she is the Supreme Shaper and has been taken captive by the evil Zahr. Zahr’s plan is to destroy all other shapers and free Mount Spark, bringing darkness to the land. After Zahr’s devastating attack on the Shapers you are the only able bodied warrior left, you must go on a quest to save Ana, who has been split into heart, mind and body. Gameplay The Gameplay consists of non-combat sections and combat sections that are spaced throughout a series of levels. The sections balance each other out and keep each other from becoming boring or tedious. Both of these sections revolve around creating and commanding minions called Guardians to achieve your goal. During the non-combat sections, you are solving puzzles and collecting upgrades as well as collectables. You summon Guardians to help you complete the puzzles and find secrets. As you progress through the story, more and more types of guardians are put at your disposal. There are a variety of guardians that each have unique abilities, such as archers who can hit distant targets and psychics who can create protective barriers. This keeps the gameplay from getting stale. It’s very fun to command several groups of your minions to do different things in order to complete a task at once, I just wish there were more instances in which this occurred. More commonly, you are just ordering one group of guardians to do something so you can proceed. This is still fun, just less so. One issue I had that wasn’t a bug was the archers, called Sentinels, firing at targets they did not have a clear path to hit, making them endless shoot into an obstacle such as a wall. Also, targeting things off the ground can be confusing as you must point to the ground they are over. Lastly, the direction in which you role does not follow the direction you are moving, it follows the direction in which your cursor is pointing. This may not sound like a big deal, but if you are in the middle of a battle and you are trying to simultaneously dodge enemy fire and order guardians, this can be the difference between taking damage or not. It is also just generally annoying for when you are trying to move around the map quickly. These annoyed me but are certainly not deal breakers and could be easily fixed/changed. During the combat sections, you are fighting Zahr’s minions. These consist of mini-boss fights. You command your guardians to attack the enemy while you try to keep yourself and your guardians alive. You can use the terrain to your advantage by buffing your guardians. You have to be careful though, because the enemy may destroy the terrain while attacking. This is a great feature as it adds another layer of strategy to the game. Each combat section ends by giving you a grade on how well you did. I liked this, because it encouraged me to do better, even if I won the battle. At the end of each level, you can upgrade yourself as well as your guardians. This is nice as it allows you to customize your play style by upgrading the units you use the most. Overall, the gameplay is fun and engaging. Graphics/Artworks The art style really appeals to me. It's not the 16-bit pixel art, and it’s not the high definition realistic art of triple-A titles, it boasts a unique style. There’s not much else to say here. I just really liked it. Performance The game performs quite well on my gaming computer. The resolution was good and the framerate was always high. Over the course of my playtime I encountered only two very minor bugs. Both of these involved guardians in places where they shouldn't have been, but didn’t really take away from the experience. Overall Overall I really enjoyed Masters of Anima. The graphics, story, and voice acting really took me in to the fantasy settings. The core mechanic of commanding guardians is executed well and is very fun. The practice of commanding minions to do your bidding may seem similar to pikmin, but I think there is enough other mechanics that really make this game quite unique. There are only a few, easy to fix bugs. I give Masters of Anima an 8/10. It doesn’t completely knock my socks off, but it is a very strong and enjoyable game.

Pirates: All Aboard!

User ScoreLumabros
Apr 13, 2018
Gameplay: In pirates all aboard, you have 3 game modes to choose from. I guess technically 4 if you include practice mode as an option. Practice mode helps you get use to the game’s main mechanics. You learn how to drive and defend your ship from a birds eye view perspective. There are also some points to collect after you destroy enemy ships. That’s really it for the game’s mechanics, not a whole lot going on here. Well now that I explained the main gist of the game, let's talk about the 3 other modes. The first one is a 4 player multiplayer mode called death match, and already you know what your in for. 2 or more players battle it out to the death in the open sea to see who is the best pirate of them all. There's not that much depth into the game, you just float around ramming your ship into your enemy and spamming cannon shots. It’s only fun for short amounts of time. The game-play gets very repetitive and generic pretty fast. Although the game tries to shake things up with dropping power ups that improve your speed and firepower, it cant stop itself from being repetitive and bland. Secondly, there is Last man standing mode, which is almost identical to death match but it's more of a one death and its over type of deal, no re spawns. Lastly, there is the mode I enjoy the most, which is Endless mode. By choosing this option, your ship is on a fixed route going upwards and you only have the choice to move left or right, as you quickly navigate your way through the dangers of the open sea. There is enemies chasing you or bombs to look out for. All you need to do is make your way through an endless series of obstacles blocking your path while collecting coins and avoiding threats such as sharks and crashing. Unlike the other modes, I feel like I can just plop down in a chair and play this mode for a few minutes then go do something else. It's nice and simple without much skill needed! Performance: Pirates all aboard is no technical masterpiece whatsoever. And I don't mean that it's full of glitches or bugs, because its not. I know you don't need good graphics at all to have a fun game, but you can at least try a little. The shapes and backgrounds in this game are extremely blocky and jaggety, some of them look barley rendered. The only aspects of the game I felt were at least passable graphics wise, were the ships and water. I know you could make an argument that it may be the art style of the game, but comparing the more detailed ships and water to the backgrounds and rocks, would surely disprove that. The game runs fine in handheld mode and while docked. Like I had said before, there are no issues performance wise, only graphical. ETC: I don't really have much more to say about this game because its very short and you can get everything done in basically an hour. However I will give this game credit for its pretty good soundtrack. The music sounds very adventurous and pirate like. Even though the ship battles are mediocre at best, the great soundtrack in the background makes the battle more intense and fun. The main theme of this game is very well written. If anyone has ever played Toontown and went to Donald's Dock, it kinda sounds like that with and a more adventurous upgrade. Overall: Overall, Pirates all aboard is a slightly above mediocre game at best that is rather short in game play. There isn't much offered but you cant really complain for the price of $6. However the lack of content doesn't necessarily mean you can't gain any enjoyment out of it. I did have a little fun in the multiplayer and a did enjoy the endless mode. However I felt this game could have been more of what it currently is. But again, it's a $6 dollar game so you can’t make a huge fuss. I give Pirates All Aboard a 6 Out Of 10.

Extinction

User ScoreLumabros
Apr 10, 2018
Game play: In extinction, you are a fierce warrior named Avil, who must take down all sorts of monsters, and rescue civilians to restore piece across the world. Now in the game, there are 4 different modes to choose from. There is the main campaign, Daily Challenge, Extinction, and Skirmish. Let's start off with the campaign. In the campaign, you are tasked to free many different cities and towns from the brutal constant Ravenii attacks. Generally in each level, you must defend the town and free citizens to progress to the next level. However if too many innocent civilians are killed, then its game over for you. This makes the game quite challenging because you need to make sure everyone is safe, but then you got some 100 foot roll ogre rampaging through the streets, so you need to deal with him before you attend to the people. The game is all about the combat. Your basic attack is your typical sword slash, that is really power, however the enemies have really high health, so in order to quickly kill them, you need to charge up your attack for one giant slash that is almost an instant kill and has a large range. These charged up attacks are also the main point of focus when dealing with enormous enemies. These sort of attacks are needed to slice off giants limbs and head off. The combat reminds me a lot of shadow of war and assassins creed. You have many enemies ganging up on you and you have large range sword attacks that deal a hefty amount of damage. The big difference between these games though, is there are no combo counter attacks you can perform to attack enemies with. However I still feel like the gameplay is kind of similar, however that doesn't make the game nay less enjoyable. Performance: Now like I said before, I was given the PC version of the game to review, so my experience may differ from the console versions. Now you have the option to run the game at either, 60 FPS, 30 FPS, or unlimited FPS. Running the game at unlimited FPS works fine for me, however my laptop is not fantastic or meant for major gaming. With that said I had to tone down the resolution a bit for me personally to make the game perform better. Even with the lower resolution settings, the game still looked pretty decent, but if you are planning to get this game on PC, then I recommend to check if your PC can handle large detailed and big games, for the best experience. Now for the glitches and bugs of the game. Now the only bug I have encountered so far, is that sometimes the framerate drops down a but, before going back normal. This has actually happened a decent amount of times. It doesn't make the game broken or unplayable, but should definitely be fixed so more people can enjoy this game without any problems. However besides that, I can't really find any other issues. ETC: Now like I had said before, there are some more game modes to choose from. There is the Daily Challenge, which is exactly what you think it is. Everyday there will be a challenge that the community can compete in, the best players will be shown on a scoreboard and everyone can see just how awesome you are! These challenges are nothing to complex, like hold off an attack for 9 minutes or save a certain amount of people in 5 minutes. It's a great option for those who seek challenge. Secondly there is Extinction mode. By choosing this option, you are given 1 life to see just how long you can survive endless invasions of enemies until your death. In a way this is kind of like an arcade mode, except there are no re spawns. One death and its over! Lastly there Skirmish mode, which is basically daily challenge, except it's not daily and the challenges don't change everyday. There are a certain amount of challenges this mode offers, but unlike daily challenge there is no constant change in the challenge, so that may get a bit boring after awhile, but only time will tell. Overall: Overall: I believe that Extinction is a pretty solid game that contains engaging game play with non stop action that keeps you on your seat, a for decent amount of time. As hours go on, you will start to see so repetitiveness in the game play, but slicing and dicing giants is generally always amusing. I give Extinction an 8.2 out of 10. This is definitely a pretty good game that delivers on the action, but may get repetitive for some. I for one had a really great time with the game anyway. I recommend this title for those who are looking for an upscale action adventure game and those who are fans of the fighting style of Shadow of Mordor with a but mix on assassins creed.

Urban Trial Playground

User ScoreLumabros
Apr 8, 2018
Gameplay: In Urban Trial Playground, you are put through a series of stages and are suppose to dodge obstacles, perform tricks, attempt not to crash while on your motorcycle. When I first saw some footage of this game, I expected it to be like excite bike for the NES, in way. And even though I believe it is similar, the game play has one major issue. The controls are really wonky and directions are a bit unclear what to do. In the game, you are suppose to perform tricks by driving at high speed of ramps or by jumping. However the controls are the bicycle movement really awkward and usually result in crashing. I will admit, it is funny to see your guy face smack into the concrete, however after many attempts with unclear directions, it gets really frustrating and you start to notice that its the control layout that is the problem. You got your accelerate, brake, reverse and all the movements you expect out of driving a motorcycle, however the transition to the joycons doesn't always work out and definitely feels really odd at times. Now, i eventually did get used to these controls after a good amount of time, but it takes much longer than it should. However, once you get the hang of it, it's pretty enjoyable for a little while. The gameplay doesn't really change much or offer any other challenge. There are a ton of levels to pass so there definitely is a good chunk of game here, but it gets repetitive really fast and you can start to lose interest. There is an option that allows you to play with a friend through many of the games levels, it's not a four player co op mode, but a neat little option if you have a friend over. Performance: In handheld mode, I noticed that the screen resolution looked kind of blurry and fuzzy. I then thought to myself, that's really strange, maybe the resolution would be improved while docked. Well, I was wrong. Shockingly, the resolution is barley improved at all even while docked. There is still a weird blurriness on the screen that looks almost identical to the resolution while in handheld mode. That is absurd, I can understand that some games have lower resolution in handheld mode because its not extremely power, but looking almost exactly the same while docked? I'm not going to sugarcoat it, it looks bad. I really hate to say this about a game, but it's the truth. I'm sure this was most likely not the intention of the developers, but people aren't going to be fond **** that looks like a TV covered in plastic covering. I really don't like being that harsh, but people must know the truth and I hope the developers will fix this issue. Now let's talk about some of the glitches and bugs are in this game. The only glitch I have discovered so far, is the frame rate issue. Sometimes the game looks like its running a decent 30 frames per second and then suddenly the frame rate drops a lot. This doesn't occur in every single level, but in a good amount and it's not like a little buffer, its a full giant frame drop that really becomes an eyesore. When you're trying to accelerate as fast as you can, you do not generally want a massive frame drop. ETC: As you play though more levels, you can earn some in game currency. This currency can be used to cosmetically redesign your biker and bike. With the biker, you can buy him or her some new shirts, pants or shoes. They don't affect the game play at all, but it's a nice little choice to have. Now the way you customize your bike, does affect the game play a lot. You can buy a good amount of new bikes that have different level stats. Of course the best ones are the most expensive so save your currency! You can also customize the paint job of your bike, this only adds a new look, nothing else is affected. Overall: Overall, this was a game I truly wanted to enjoy because it reminded me of an updated version of excite bike, however the ending product was a game that felt rushed and needs some patching up work. That doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the game at all, I did have some fun, but what's there gets repetitive. I feel like this game should be really fun and enjoyable but I guess the developers need to address some issues. I give Urban Trial Playground a 5 out of 10. I guess if you are a little kid and want to drive a motorcycle for a few hours then I recommend this game, however if your not then I would double think your decision to purchase. Unless there are some serious patches released. If there are patches released that address these issues, then I think Urban Trials Playground could be a much better experience.

Punch-Out!

User ScoreLumabros
Apr 5, 2018
Gameplay: The gameplay is the exact same as the original arcade version that was released in the 80s. You play as a boxer who must beat a series of challengers to eventually get to the end, not that complicated. However, in the arcade version, you get a joystick a some buttons for movement, on the switch you are using 2 joycons and the button translation feels really odd. The controls feel a little clunky to me, you need to press the left and right triggers of each joy con to punch, or only use the left joycon to press buttons to punch. I guess the reason why it feels so weird is because this game was only meant to be an arcade cabinet, and then you force its controls on the switch. I will admit, after awhile you do get use to the control scheme, but its really weird and troublesome if you played the original arcade version. Along with the arcade version of the game, you can also play High score mode that lets you compete for your highest score but you won't be able to save unlike classic mode allows you to. There is also caravan mode that times you for 5 minutes to see how far you can get. These modes are nothing special, but do offer some variety. Performance: The game runs perfectly on switch, no glitches or bugs of any kind. The sound is just like the original and looks how it did back in the day. No issues performance wise at all. ETC: Now I'm going to talk about how the game can be displayed. Since this game was an arcade cabinet, there were 2 screens to show you who you were fighting, and the game itself. There are 3 ways to display this. There is the original version, were 2 screens are stacked on top of eachother with a black backdrop on the sides, a horizontal display that puts the 2 screens right next to each other from left to right, or the most odd one, the whole game being played vertically including the switch itself. Unless you have a special stand, there is no real reason to play that way, it's just really odd. I myself play to original arcade display. All of these displays in general are odd, but its really the only way to port this game without dual screens, this game should have been ported to the 3DS or even Wii u. The displays are not the best suited for the switch. Overall: Overall, this port is great way to introduce new players to the punch out game that started it all. Although the controls aren't the best and displaying the game can be an issue, for the price of $8, It ain't that bad.

Super Rocket Shootout

Apr 5, 2018
Super Rocket Shootout originally released for the PC back in July of last year, and is now making its debut on the switch. The art style is in the style of the 16 bit era of game consoles like the SNES. In this game there are 3 modes to choose from, a story mode, and arcade mode, and Shootout mode. Let's start off with the story mode. In this mode you get to play in a series of levels based off the adventures **** of robbers. In various levels you are usually put up against an enemy or enemies and need to fight to the death. The combat is actually very interesting. You fly around the stage in a jet pack trying to flee or go towards your enemy. Each character has a gun, that be charged up for super attacks depending on how many times you blocked an enemy attack. Once you hit a certain amount of blocking points, you can unleash super power that is unique to each character. There is also the option the melee attack your opponent if close enough. You can also gather grenades and other explosives by smashing nearby crates, that of course deal more damage than an average attack if thrown wisely. Along with that, some stages have hazards that can make the fight more of a challenge, however that adds to fun. Anyway, in Arcade mode, you basically do the same thing as you would in story mode, however just without a story and cutscenes. It's more like a quick fight’s without anymore hassle. Its very easy to just start an arcade session and play, that's what I love about it. You can just play a quick game, and then go back to your other things you need to do. Lastly there is Shootout mode, which is the best mode so far. You and up to 3 other players can duke it out in any stage with any character for one crazy fight. This mode reminds a bit of Super Smash bros, with the 4 player fighting and massive stage designs. This is a game that certainly satisfies me, a super smash bros fan, and I'm sure will satisfy others. I can really see this being a popular fighting game among smash fans, and will certainly keep us busy till smash 5. Super Rocket Shootout runs generally smooth while docked and undocked. The graphics are nicely 16 bit with a surprisingly good amount of detail. However there is one bug I have encountered with this game so far, and it can be a problem if not fixed soon. I noticed in whatever mode Im playing, usually 4 player co op, that sometimes the framerate will start to slow down and lot for a good amount of seconds before turning back to normal. It's not so terrible that it ruins the game, but is definitely an eye so at times. I have good confidence that this glitch will be fixed soon but i'm not the developers so I don't truly know. However besides that problem, the game runs pretty good as far as I can tell. A neat little thing that this game has, is achievements that you can get from doing certain task. Like killing a certain amount of enemies or destroy 1000 crates. Some of the achievements can also earn you new stages to fight on and new characters to play as. I love this inclusion, because it makes all the time you spent playing, feel rewarding. The switch currently has no achievement system like Playstation or xbox, I hope Nintendo decides to add this soon. Actually they have said they are working on some kind of thing, but only time will tell. Overall, Super Rocket Shootout is a great co op fighting game shouldn't be overlooked. The game’s style reminds me of super smash bros with a 16 bit twist. Yes, this game isn't as amazing as Smash bros, however if you are a fan of the Smash series or looking for a co op game on the switch, I really recommend this game. I gibe Super Rocket Shootout a 8.5 out of 10. For the games asking price of $10, this game certainly worth it!
