I wanted to love this game. Everything shown in the trailer made it look like it would be a fun time, not anything close to game of the year material but at least a fun time. Sadly that is about where the fun ends because this has an incredible concept but a terrible execution. Everything from the really bad steering controls, to the glitches of randomly falling off the map and trying to drive out of bounds where there is no map just infinite space. If they'd fix this game up I would be able to rate it higher.

I feel it is fitting to give this game an 80 for some 80s nostalgia! This game sure is full of references to 80s pop culture and even being based off of a huge game from the 80s. If you've played Paperboy then you will instantly know exactly what this game is all about. I feel that it is a bit more challenging than Paperboy due to the life system. You basically get one shot to complete the level and there are several obstacles in your way to prevent that. Seems like the obstacles get randomized each time except for maybe the sewer area. It is a fun game to play in small doses when you have a few minutes with nothing else to do and don't want to dive into a full story driven game. There isn't much depth to it but for what it is it is a fun game that was released at the right time to capitalize on the popular nostalgia movement of reliving the 80s and 90s.

This game is always a fun time. Sadly new content could not be made due to a lawsuit over the franchise in general, but thankfully that didn't stop the community nor the developers from totally abandoning it. The game is at its best when those online multiplayer matches make you feel like you are part of the movie. That sudden burst of excitement when Jason is using stalk and comes up out of nowhere and the music intensifies. The game is balanced enough. In games like these it is often the survivors that are OP and the killer is a bit weaker. This mostly avoids this trap. You could have a match with a dominant Jason or a match where the counselors are well coordinated enough to beat Jason. You will run into some toxic players or trolls from time to time but that is with any online game. The only major downfall is the bugs and glitches and how slow the team is to get them fixed. Thankfully as the game has been updated there hasn't been anything totally game breaking but rather an annoyance of sorts. They still have a two or three more patch updates to roll out so they will at least leave it in a playable state when they abandon the game.
