Final Fantasy VII Remake

I patiently waited years to play Final Fantasy 7 Remake. This was my main motivation to acquire a Playstation 4. Im also a big fan of FF7, so take that in consideration while reading my review. Also being a fan helped me absorb the story and the materia system more easily. Everything in the game is very well made. Every little thing in the game is enjoyable. Played FF7 Remake about 15 hours a day until I finished it. It was a deep immersive experience where I left my friends asking "where are you" on social media for days. Many times I had to stop and enjoy the breathtaking landscapes. Some cutscenes and moments are the very best I saw in gaming, though I usually dislike the 'over the top' animations. There are few in the game but not much. The combat system, the major difference from the original, might divide fans. While I truly enjoyed the combat system on the original game, the new one is addictive for me. I want to replay the game just for the challenge of facing the Arena and VR challenge on hard mode (something I didnt care about in the original). I love how they expended the story, giving more attention to smaller characters like Jessie and Biggs. They did it to the point I became a fan of them. I didn't like the addiction of the Whispers very much, though. I felt a bit out of place. I understand the need of them but I don't think it was very well implemented. Everytime they appeared I felt they were disrupting the story and the flow of the game. The materia system is my favorite on RPG games though it feels not as good and additive like in the original game. I don't know why. Maybe it feels a bit simpler and not as relevant as in the original game. The big let down for me is I find the game a bit short, even for it being a part of a larger series. I usually spent 80 to 100 hours in triple A games on PS4 - playing it slow and saviouring the little details here and there. Usually when I finish the game I don't play it again. I beat it in about 40+ hours, finishing every side quest and collecting every item I could. It somehow makes me want to revisit the original game, which took me about 100 hours to beat. It was a life changing experience so I made the last the longer I could back in 1997, though I felt satisfied when it ended and didnt ask for more. Its a good sign the you are sad the game ended, right? It means you were enjoying the experience though not yet satisfied. The same didn't happen when I finished Death Stranding, for instance. There, I spent 100 hours and enjoyed almost everything, but in the end I was getting tired of it. Now I keep asking myself when will I play the sequels. This is the best gaming experience I had in decades. By far.

Excellent game. Fun, deep (no pun intended) and well polished. Controls and game mechanics are easy to understand. You wont miss your 10 bucks thats for certain. That said, I find it a little short though, and it also lacks boss fights. I find the final boss a little lame and easy; it could certainly be the first boss. Happy digging.

Whoa Dave! is an arcade game. As you keep playing it, you'll discover new little things all the time. It is perfect for small burst, or for when you really want to beat your high score. The graphics are cute and its simplicity keeps your focused on the game. I just find it a little too tough and the achievements could be a little more creative, and they could add a little more elements, stages and gigs. Certainly one of the best 3DS games. It is so cheap that you certainly wont regret getting it.

Super Mario 3D Land

when I was a young kid I felt nintendo should release a super mario game each year. It could just have the Super Mario World engine with new levels, and it would still be an outstanding game. By 'outstanding I don't mean 'the ultimate gaming experience' that was Super Mario 64. Super mario 3D land is an outstanding game and you will have lots of fun playing all levels and collecting star coins, as it is real fun to revisit levels to get them. It is the best game to take the advantage of the 3D, since the effect is somewhat required to play some levels better, which makes you proud to have a nintendo 3DS. What I don't like about this Super Mario 3D Land is it praises too much the older marios, dedicating whole levels to remember you how awesome Mario 3 was. Ok Nintendo we get it: old school games are awesome and you we should (re)play them, but you don't have to bother us about it all that much. I also feel the 'powerups' are a bit underused, with little to no real meaning in the game level design-wise. The first half of the game is way too easy. I know about 'entry level barrier' and I feel it every time I present this game to a non gamer. But after world 4-5 or something it should get a bit tougher, and when the game is at its peak with their hardest levels presented there should me more and hardest levels, for the ones who really want a challenge, which ultimately isn't there. The 'tanooki of shame', given if you die too much in a level doesn't help either, since I believe a player should learn and get better at the game to beat a level, and not being spoiled by it. Lastly, the world map is just a straight line of levels; an element of the game that could be more elaborated and explored. Definetly one of the best 3ds titles, though I feel nintendo could have done a bit more in this game; maybe they are saving it for the new super mario on Wii U.

Very good game; maybe great. It lacks a bit of depth and you end up expecting more of each of the following: -game elements (achievements, '3 star system'); -diversity, like game modes, although the 'make your own levels' thing help; -difficulty, found the game a bit easy. its simplicity ends up backfiring. Besides that it is worth your time and money. Fun game in the end.
