This was the best Halo game, cowards. Campaign is a flawless masterpiece and MP was still great. Best forge, best modes, and armor lock was not that big of a deal, not that many people even used it. Screw your revisionist history. Bloom was bad on launch though, I'll give you that.

Completely destroyed the aesthetics of the original. Everything looks like plastic and playdough now. A completely pathetic effort from a dev that didn't care. Never buy remasters, always play the originals. At the very least they added 1 decent QoL feature (using multiple items at once from the inventory), but that's literally it. One of the worst games I've ever played in my life. Boring broken obnoxious exploitable combat, unusable camera, some of the dumbest AI I've ever seen, terrible encounter design, insane difficulty whiplash, piles of worthless mechanics that are never explained, garbage tutorial, forced grinding (not because of the difficulty, it literally forces you to grind out the item world at least once), awful characters and story (pick any modern audience game at random and it'll have better dialogue guaranteed), and some of the worst visuals and music I've ever experienced. I'm talking literal zero effort, AI could do vastly better. I've played some unbelievably awful video games, but this is one of the only games where I truly felt like I wasted my time and got nothing out of the experience. This game took me 46 1/2 hours to beat and I can't recall a single second of that where I was having a passably good time. Oh, by the way, this is the BEST Disgaea, apparently. Don't listen to anyone praising this series, I have never seen a more pathetic gaggle of deluded halfwits. Please stop living in a cave.

Personally, after playing a good 10 hours of this game, I think this is one of the worst releases I've seen in a long time, at least since Mindseye. Most people outside of Mugthief, Vara Dark, and Lord Frogmire haven't been nearly hard enough on it. This game is not 'overhated,' it's not 'mediocre,' it is a true piece of garbage from top to bottom. The design is horrible. 3v3 with zero bots/mini-bosses on giant maps makes the game slower than a battle royale. There's multiple phases where you do nothing for minutes on end. The equipment is overpowered making skill irrelevant, and yet it's so ubiquitous that everyone's going to be around the same power level anyway unless they just neglect to loot, and the loot is so plentiful that you never need to fight over it, but loot doesn't drop when you die, so there's no point in fighting anyway unless it's over an objective. Basically the loot phase is entirely pointless, but not even remotely as pointless as the base prep phase. If you were counting, which I was, that's 3 MINUTES of wasted time at the beginning of every round, and then add onto that the 30 seconds of doing nothing while waiting for the shieldbreaker to break the shield. Not every match, every round. This means that the majority of the match you are doing absolutely nothing of consequence, or literally just standing around. It also runs like garbage with even high-end systems barely hitting 100fps, if that, with significant framedrops below 60 whenever you enter a gunfight. It has constant bugs and glitches, including crashes which penalize you. That's if you can even get into a match which is unlikely, and have the lobby stay in-game long enough for the game to crash, which is also unlikely. Its artstyle is disjointed, incohesive corpo tripe. Zero identity with everything under the sun thrown in with zero thought to whether it would be a good idea, unsurprising since that's the design philosophy for the whole game. The resolution switches between menus, has AI upscaling making the entire thing look like it's running at 720p, and it also has mandatory motion blur. All the characters and all of their skins are utterly generic not to mention incredibly overpriced. The gunplay is mediocre at best but the hitboxes and hit detection are poor, and it has always-on mouse smoothing and on-by-default mouse accel that you have to fix in the ini. You can't even type in your sensitivity. You could do that CS 1.6 BTW. Literal joke of an FPS game. There's almost zero music. The writing and dialogue is Borderlands 3 tier. There's only 8 characters and they have a tiny number of powers, half of which are stolen from other games, and none of which are all that impactful, aside from the couple that are crazy OP. There's 11 guns, many of which play exactly the same, & all of which are horribly balanced and couldn't lack more creativity if they tried. There's 5 maps that all play exactly the same. Kernel-level anti-cheat. There's also zero complexity skill expression or replayability. Shills keep complaining that the negative reviews don't have a lot of playtime, but that's because you've seen everything this game has to offer in less than an hour. There is no ranked mode, just quickplay, no stats or leaderboards, and there is one game mode. One. And it's just demolition with limited lives. The innovation is so incredible, guys. I could go on, that's not even the half of it. Unsurprisingly, the one aspect of this game that does work is the store. Just utterly pathetic that people would shill for this garbage. If you're going to get paid off to praise a game, at least try to make it believable. This is one of the most incompetent FPS games I have ever seen. This game is worse than Concord. It really truly is. I didn't want to accept it either, but Concord was a significantly more functional, well-designed, and content-rich game. What a feat. Truly setting all new bars for failure. "But Highguard had a wayyy better launch than Concord!" It's. Free. Concord was $40 at launch, which is absurdly pricey for a live-service hero shooter, especially when most genre contemporaries are F2P. That's why the player count was so insanely low. If Concord was F2P, we would've seen a lot more people download it and give it a try, just like we saw with Paladins. Is Highguard's launch AS bad as Concord's? Maybe not, but it's not terribly far off either. Also, the narrative that this game failed because people wanted to hate it, or that it would have done a lot better if it were marketed differently, could not be further from the truth. The only reason this crap got 100k players in the first place is because it was in the final spot at the game awards, and people decided to try it out of morbid curiosity. If it had actually shadow-dropped, it would've peaked at 10k players tops, probably closer to 5k, then fallen into obscurity within a few days. At least now the game gets its 15 minutes of infamy, and that's far better than it deserves.

Quit after 40 hours when I had to fight enemies that did a debuff to me that literally made me unable to play the game, and there was no defense against it whatsoever until I could grind a gem that only drops in an area that I didn't have access to yet. Here's my review of this game: if I had unlimited resources at my disposal, and set out to make the world's worst designed, most frustrating, incomprehensibly idiotic, more annoying than **insert your personal least favorite kids show here**, most agonizing to play, most vapid, and most padded JRPG that my sick mind could come up with, I would fail, because nothing could ever, EVER, beat out this game in any of those categories, and wouldn't even be in the same universe as all of it put together. The worst UI I've ever contended with in any game ensures that equipping your party takes 4 times as long as it should. You have no control over your party members in a combat system that is 100% reliant on comboing and the AI is dumb as dirt, which breaks the gameplay. Regarding the battle system itself, after spending no less than 20 hours on the wiki trying to figure out how it works because the game sure as hell doesn't tell you, I can definitely say it is the most half-baked, absurdly overly-convoluted, braindead, non-functional battle system I have ever seen in my life. The way aggro works breaks the game, literally punishing you for playing. The Monado's very existence breaks the game since you have to have Shulk in your party at all times, lest you get murdered by Mechon that you can't do damage to. Chain attacks are more RNG than skill-based, broken mechanic. Half the things the Monado arts are supposed to do, they don't, which usually results in your death. I can absolutely guarantee, if you think the combat system in this game is good, that you don't understand 5% of how it works, because if you did, your head would be spinning with with the utter insanity of how its twisted spider web of various non-functional mechanics somehow interweave and coalesce into the most deranged mess of broken garbage that I have or will ever see in any game. It also has the worst side-quests in any video game, fight me on that. This game's side-quests make WoW's look like Witcher 3 by comparison. Annoying, imbecilic, deep as a puddle characters that never ****, especially during combat, of which there are only 7, and not a single one of them is likeable or interesting. I've seen better written characters in Peppa Pig. God-awful story that can't even keep track of itself after it pours on 10 plot-twists that are so dumb, you'd get more narrative poignancy out of most Scooby-Doo episodes. The plot of this game justifies being 25 hours long at most and yet the game is 70 hours. If it's not the most padded game in history, it's certainly close. The open-world is so barren and devoid of anything remotely interesting, just more mobs to fight. The aesthetics of the world are great, but you'll never be able to see them since the game looks like a YouTube video from 2006, and that's being generous. It looks like someone spilled some motor oil on Skies of Arcadia. Literally the entire game is so **** bad it makes me apoplectic. This had to be purposeful. You have to be trying to make a game this offensively terrible. So WTF do people even like about this game? From what I can tell, a bunch of Nintendo kiddies grew up never having played an RPG before after every company jumped ship from Nintendo during the 5th generation, and then they played this: one of the worst JRPGs ever made, but because it was their first, and they bought it with their own lawnmowing money, they loved it. Can't really explain the metacritic reviews though. Maybe they all played Xenogears by mistake. It gets a 2 for the soundtrack and for not setting my console alight. That's about all the praise anyone with a brain could give it.

One of the best games ever has been systematically killed by greed for the past 8 years, no PvE was the final nail in the coffin. This game is dead, the franchise is dead, and Blizzard is dead to me. Activision Blizzard is officially boycotted until Bobby Kotick steps down from the company and they prove that they can still make a playable title again. I should've seen the writing on the wall with Reforged but still maintained hope. Lesson learned, never hope, play retro instead. Every critic that gave this game above a 50, oh wait, that's literally all of them, should never be allowed to review so much as a candy bar again. A slug could do your job better. You would be ashamed of yourselves if you had the neurons required to experience human emotion. Also the fact that Metacritic still has the trailer up that was a complete LIE used to **** people into buying the battle pass in anticipation for the PVE, is disgraceful.

Despite what an petulant raving clown at IGN has to say about it, this is a solid game. For 10 bucks you get 36 different missions resulting in 3-4 hours of playtime full of fun arcade action. The plane variety is decent enough for the length. So's the soundtrack. The game's AI that can't be taken too lightly results in numerous nail-baiting moments as you scramble for a healthpack after you were made into swiss cheese due to a bad decision. But, that said, except for maybe a mission or two, the game's difficulty is spot on. You really start to feel like an ace once you get a handle on the easy to pick up controls and start blowing one plane after another out of the sky. The final battle is also absolutely epic. The only major issues with the game is that enemies will often spawn out of thin air very close to you, which leads to some unfair moments, and when there are explosions on screen it starts dumping frames like none other. Wish I had gotten to experience the multiplayer. That would've been a blast. For $10, if you have the bug for a world war-era arcade flyer, it's a good way to spend an afternoon.

No idea WTF people are smoking. The controls are different but they work well, and I never had a problem with the hitboxes once. You just have to think of it like a fighting game where your character exists in 3D space. It makes complete sense and works like it should, evidently people are just too coddled or dumb to figure out a very easy-to-control game where you have to think before you swing. The graphics and animations are extremely impressive for the GBA with no slowdown whatsoever even in the pseudo-3D sections with a lot going on. If it's too difficult, which, it really isn't, just drop it to Padawan and breeze through. Good length for the fidelity they were able to pull off. Only real flaws are the lack of checkpoints in levels that can be pretty long, two or three of the enemies come at you so quick that it results in cheap hits, constantly requiring force jumping slows down the pace, and the level design that is complex without any reason to be on Coruscant and Kamino is real time-waster. Overall, it's a solid game with some glaring flaws but calling this just as bad as Flight of the Falcon should be a crime. It's easily the third best Star Wars GBA game after Trilogy and Ep. 3. Mad 'cause bad is sad.

My greatest dream, since I was a kid, was to play a game based around my favorite car of all-time, and now I finally can. Thanks MakeAWish for making this possible. I loved every second of the deep 30 hours of gameplay. I'm more fond of the characters than my own family. The graphics make me question if reality is a simulation. The story makes Citizen Kane look like a festering dog turd. This is simply the greatest thing humanity has or will ever do as a species. Everything is downhill from here. Everyone should be forced to play this game in school, but forced is the wrong word, because the entire world will be clamoring to play this game as soon as they can.

CoD: RtV is a painfully generic and short campaign with escort missions from hell, laden with clown car syndrome (where impossible numbers of enemies constantly pour out from a building/doorway) in order to pad the length. The game runs at a consistent 5-10 FPS and constantly eats inputs. Sometimes it runs so poorly that you're prevented from even firing your weapon which can result in your death. It's actually fairly easy to die in this game on the normal (hardened) difficulty due to unfair explosions, especially in the later levels where the enemies start spamming grenades. The gunplay is some of the worst I've ever experienced. The combination of the PSP controls, no aim assist, extremely agile enemies, remarkably inaccurate weaponry, and all-around awful hitboxes make the moment to moment gameplay a chore. Even though the game is linear, the geometry is mapped out horribly, making moving your character an exercise in frustration, not to mention making it harder to get away from grenades. You'll be constantly griefed by your teammates as they slap you around to get past you, usually pushing you out into enemy fire, only to stand out in the open, typically not even firing their gun, and then die immediately, only for the next one to do the same thing 3 seconds later. Even for a PSP first-person shooter, this game is horrid. It feels like playing a pre-alpha build of something they were making for the PS2, but then attempted to back-port it to the PSP without optimizing it at all. Seriously, this game has some of the most consistently poor performance I've ever seen. I'm a big fan of the CoD series, but I can easily say this is the worst entry I've played, and the worst FPS I've been subjected to in recent memory, if not ever.

Mercifully, this game's a hell of a lot better than the second. The music and graphics are as good as always, but this time the controls aren't laggy (and unlike the second game it has this insane new tech they made called 'aim assist' that makes the gunplay not awful :O ), it runs at more than 15fps for the majority of the game, and it has an actual story and characters (if you've played the second game you know that's a minor miracle). Unfortunately, the campaign's still only about 5-6 hours, but in that time, you have a lot more interesting scenarios that you're thrown into; far more setpieces and toys to play with that really mix up the gameplay, including a good number of vehicle sections which are mostly all fun, except for the EXO suit, which makes the screen shake so much I got motion-sickness for the first time in any video game (including VR). Seriously, it's okay to take a break if you feel nauseated in that section because you probably will. I, without exaggeration, almost lost my lunch. Unfortunately, the cover system is still just as horrid. It seems to make you stick to it from farther as well which means it's much harder to do what you should be doing, which is avoiding it altogether. This game also insanely exacerbated how often you get insta-killed. You have practically no health whatsoever after the first half of the game, even on normal, so prepare to get one-shotted A LOT, it made many of the sections that should have been more fun (like the jetpack section where fun fact: your gun actually heals enemies rather than kills them) a complete chore. Is it a great game? God no, but at least it's competent, and at this point, I'm just happy we didn't get another Killzone 2.

One of the most overrated games I've ever played in my life. Can't believe how bought-off some of these critics are. The campaign barely **** 5 HOURS. It wants to be CoD so bad it added ADSing and nearly all the guns it added are carbon copies of modern weaponry (the Bizon, M14, M249, and LAW). The AI is absurdly braindead and will get in your way constantly. Be prepared to bash your teammates to oblivion to try and make enough space to walk past them in the tiny corridors where they nearly always block you. Plus the enemy AI just ignores you half the time. The cover system is so insanely bad I couldn't believe my eyes. When you duck out from cover your crosshair moves making it so that you can't line up shots beforehand. Not that any of the guns aside from the LMG are accurate enough to headshot with anyway. Sometimes you'll just get one-shotted by enemies from full health as well. There are the rocket launchers that do way too much splash damage, but also sometimes enemies will just put a burst into you and you'll die from full health, on normal difficulty. It happened to me about 8 times in my playthrough. Speaking of, the UI is so bad you almost never know where you're getting shot from, especially if you're colorblind like me. The story is also even more basic than the first game, and the characters are even more annoying, constantly screaming at you to hurry up or to revive them, not to mention just being the dumbest people alive, except for one of them who isn't in the game very long. But the worst part of the game is the performance. There are so many loading screens, loading stutters, and loading freezes. The game has to load practically every room you step foot in and every 30 paces you take. Even with all that loading, during firefights you'll be lucky to get more than 15 or 20 FPS, often lower if there's a lot going on and the god-awful framerate makes aiming a chore. Honestly, the only reason to play this game is to use that delicious flamethrower. Seriously, best flamethrower I've seen in a game. This game was such a disappointment. Compared to its contemporaries like Modern Warfare 2 and Halo 3: ODST, this game is an absolute amateurish embarrassment. They had a good foundation going on with the first game and I couldn't wait to see the story, characters, and gameplay refined for a sequel. Instead, they focused solely on graphics and absolutely nothing else, making this truly some of the most insulting tripe the AAA industry has puked out. Do yourself a favor and steer clear.
