This isn't a good movie about the challenges of co-existing with dinosaurs in nature. This is a bad movie about a kidnapped girl, and locusts eating crops. It does have a few good action scenes.

An adventure that is amusing enough. You’ve seen endless movies do this better. It’s something to watch.

This is like 21 meets Chronicle. It’s an interesting premise and asks intriguing questions until it kinda spins out of control into a silly, meaningless and kind of small conflict. It comes back swinging with a twist ending, though. Thrilling, fast, interesting and a bit messy. Happy I saw it.

There are times when this movie is smart, thrilling and even spooky. There are other times where this movie is aimless, cheesy and unsatisfying. It’s not the most entertaining MCU film - and it accomplishes less in the MCU bigger picture than anyone would expect from the title and MCU phase 4 events so far - but kudos for trying something different.

As someone who finds the idea of searching for life in space fascinating, I loved how realistic this movie was. I also loved where it ultimately went and how it resolved itself. That said, I disagree with the decision to jump around in time. It made me feel like I was missing when major things happened until I realized the movie would randomly go forward and then back. This found footage concept doesn't need that. The characters also seem to make odd mistakes or find equally odd solutions to things. That said...really, really great for people interested in the exploration of space. I loved it.

This was a moving, funny and unique take on exploring the question of identity, priority and family. It can be a little too self indulgent and all over the place, but it ultimately wraps everything up in a great, sentimental bow. The less you know going in, the better. A standout this year.

A new, successful take on Batman in live action. It’s a slow burn of mystery, horror and gritty action and the less you know going into it, the better. People looking for a fun superhero weekend movie may be disappointed or challenged by the long run time, but this is a quality detective movie.

Smart, silly, wild and thrilling. Every actor is delivering an awesome performance as an interesting character in this odd film. This is a simple storyline that is full of big personalities and action. It feels like they had a blast making this film, and I had a blast watching it.

As a big fan of the game, I can admit that if you give this movie a chance it does deliver a ride with the heart, laughter and thrills the franchise is famous for. It's worth the watch.

A smart murder mystery with great visuals and interesting characters. It delivers.

This movie has a few cool ideas, but overall it is a silly take on blending Day After Tomorrow, Armageddon and Gravity together. It doesn't work on any level but it is amusing. I wouldn't mind watching it on a plane or on tv during a snowstorm, but I regret anchoring a night out around it.

I loved this movie. It balances cheesy nostalgia with mature character development and modern visuals. There's a lot to love here if you watched the show as a kid. It's basically Breakfast Club plus Transformers, and it's awesome for it.

This movie follows a recent trend of studios thinking a strong cast and interesting world can make up for a boring script. All the actors here are doing a great job, and the setting is beautiful and a place you want to spend time in, but not like this. The scenes are so boring, so long, so pointless, over and over. This movie does not need to be 2 hours and 47 minutes. A few good scenes can't make up for the fact that the script is so boring. They almost had something. Almost.

Extremely fun movie that is full of twists, action and laughs. You have probably seen a movie like this before, but it sure is enjoyable. A pleasant surprise.

A beautiful, disturbing and dramatic look at Diana’s feelings on the system over Christmas. It’s dense, it’s one note almost the whole way through, and it’s very good.

Like being a fly on the wall at a stranger's thanksgiving - these characters are laughing, fighting and planning, but it is hard to care. Messy, boring, long.

I do not know anything about this franchise but like superheros and 90s mainstream anime, so I thought I'd give it a shot. This is so fun, so action packed, so well paced...there are endless exciting heroes, gorgeous visuals and characters you get to care for. I loved it.

I think this style of movie is for you, or isn't for you, and you probably know from the trailer. To me, this movie is hysterical, has great action, has thrills, it has everything. It also has a 90s throwback feel. I really loved it. Carnage was wild, and the Venom/Eddie dynamic is so unique. Loved it!!!!!!!

I like fun action movies. But this movie barely has fun action scenes and the story makes no sense. The use of time travel, the fight scenes, the ways this movie thinks it is clever but is not, it's just all really awful. You can turn your brain off but it still doesn't make any sense at all. And Chris Pratt isn't acting. He just squints his eyes and then says words deadpan. Watch any other alien or action movie instead.

If you're patient then this is a solid foundation for the potential franchise. However this movie takes a very long time to go anywhere and it is confusing to follow if you didn't read the books. Also, an hour and a half in you realize all anyone has done is talked...there's one training action scene for 30 seconds. I think the pacing, and clarity needs work. But there is so much here, for sure. Worth seeing. A visual treat.

If you want to see Ryan Reynolds do his usual thing then this movie will not disappoint. It is funny and a good time. That said, it does feel like it's tailored to kids and not all that fresh.
