Moonfall

The bad news is that Moonfall isn’t a great movie. The good news is that it’s hugely enjoyable for most of its running time.

Absurd as it is, Moonfall represents yet another bold stroke of maximalist grandeur from a filmmaker who excels at making overwhelming chaos look beautiful.

Other than these visual delights, Moonfall isn’t much fun.

It’s all very stupid, if only sometimes in an amusing way.

Co-written with Harald Kloser and Spencer Cohen, “Moonfall” is a lumbering, long locomotive of one cliche attached to another, making time pass slowly even though there is so much juggling of these different one-dimensional relationships.

As terrible as it is — and make no mistake, Moonfall is epically awful — it is also undeniably entertaining. A guilty pleasure, if you will. See it on the biggest screen you can. It’s a, er, riot.

There’s nothing worthwhile here; the landscape of wretched banality offers only wasted time and a sense of despair.

This movie is among the best of the Hollywood Disaster movies. SFX are fantastic and the twist is great. Really fun adventure. Some of the physics are questionable but it’s a thrilling ride. Would happily watch again.

This was just one big CGI flick! Visually, I found it rather impressive, but unfortunately that’s where the movie magic ends for me! The plot was a bit silly and far fetched, and the script was mediocre at best. Special effects to the rescue for Moonfall.

Moonfall is a visually captivating and thrilling cinematic experience that sci-fi and disaster movie enthusiasts will appreciate. There are moments when the pacing feels uneven. The film juggles multiple storylines and character arcs, occasionally leading to a loss of focus. Some characters could have been further developed to deepen their emotional resonance and strengthen the audience's connection with them. While it may stumble in some aspects, its ambitious concept, impressive visual effects, and compelling performances make it a worthwhile watch. Strap in for an epic lunar adventure that will leave you on the edge of your seat until the credits roll.

A mostly terrible script and storyline, and with poor direction. The CGI was ok I guess. The actors did their best with it, but even they were only ok at best. I wouldn't watch it again.

A banal disaster movie, with a plot that evolves without clear explanations but rather confusing ones, ending up boring in large stretches where the aim seems to create something apocalyptic beyond any sense.
