In short, game is good, perfect no. details: Have played this game enough and feel i can make now a review at its current state (node wars). In short: Pros -Character customization in character creation, best i ve seen so far. -Interesting classes. -Great combat, one of the best in mmos. -Great looking world, even with average pc, that feels "real". -Tons of things to do besides combat ie crafting, fishing, horse breeding, sailing, farming, exploring etc -Fun group PvP in Node/Castle Wars. -Animations in/out of combat look realistic. Cons -Community on average is bad, there are of course good people, have to try harder than other mmos to find them. -RNG ie items have a random factor on how they improve. See below -Grind, lots and lots of it at higher levels and in order to get better items, As i said in pros combat is great and enjoyable but even that has its limits. All mmos have grind of course, this one has some extra. -In game learning curve. Game has a ton of concepts and does a bad job explaining them or smoothly implementing them. Google will be your best friend. Felt completely overwhelmed in the beginning, still do many times. -While you can customize your character enormously, you dont have many choices in outfits, most are in, see next -Cash shop. Not really pay to win (have seen much worse in b2p/f2p games) but still has a lot of items that make life much much easier and help lots in grinding. Pets are cash shop only and must have, not that expensive tho. Outfits on the other hand are only a handful/average looking in game and lots/expensive/great looking in cash shop. So much for customization, most ppl look almost alike in game. Mixed impressions -Gender locked classes, personally i dont care. -Open world pvp (after lvl 45) . Happens, especially when guilds are at war. If you re afraid of random ganking, it is very rare unless you want to grind in highly contested areas. Even so its not that common. After all you might win, lvls arent that different, or your guild might declare war vs those who won you and help you. Even if killed in pvp -if others attack first- you loose no exp or armor damage, just your pride is hurt! Verdict (again) As i said in the beginning, game is mostly good and improving. Lots and lots of expansions so far at no extra cost. Highly recommended to try it, but be warned that it is not for everyone's taste. Some will really love it tho. PS I m getting tired from people who havent played a game but review it in Metacritic- 0 of course- just because they want to "support their game'. No game deserves 0 anyways.

This game could have great graphics (characters, animations, environment) if it was released 5-10 years ago. This game could have been a great MMO to explore but is so full of instances. This game could have been a good F2P if not for its greedy cash shop. This game could have been less of a letdown if it did not use the title of Neverwinter, one of the best CRPGs ever a long time ago (never to come back i am afraid). PS Saving grace, The Foundry.

There are a lot of people who consider the original WoW, the "Vanilla" as they call it the pinnacle of MMOs. Too much nostalgia i guess. For lots of players it was their first MMO. Not for me. i had already been a veteran of Everquest 1 and 2. So after failing to adjust in Everquest 2 because of its complete lack of solo content then, i tried WoW. I found a decent game which had lots of solo content -and group one too if you felt like it. It had PVP also. Game was not bad as i said, but i left it after a few months. Main reasons being: Class skills were watered down -compared to EQs-, graphics were too cartoony for my taste and last but not least, community -on average- was far below EQs standards. And in MMOs community is the most important factor. So, no the game was not perfect, but still it was a good MMO.

The third part of the ME trilogy had to compete with two masterpieces. It failed. Combat is ok, but combat was never its strong point. The trend to remove RPG components like ME2 did, continues. For example in order to get side quests you don't even talk to NPCs anymore, you simply overhear conversations. But ME2 had a saving grace, its story was still very strong. ME3 doesn't have that and its not just the ending. Main story is predictable and boring. Last but not least, your companions are simply not interesting this time. Their stories too. An average game, nothing to really set it apart from other shooters.

The successor of ME1 improved graphics but removed RPG components from the previous version. Also no world exploration and areas feel more dungeon like than open worlds. Still, its strong point -the story- is still strong -if stronger- and that is the important part.

A great space RPG with compelling story, believable characters, immersing world and space exploration. Combat was ok as well the controls. But the strong point of this game -and the most important for me-was that you really felt that you were the hero who would save the Galaxy.

There are few space MMOs and Eve is one of them. I don't like it for 4 main reason:1) Most of the time you dont really see spaceships but spreadsheets and far away bleeps 2) As someone described it very accurrately "its a game for wolves, made by wolves" ie ganking, treason etc not only are tolerated but celebrated 3) You need lots of skill points to fly effectively different types of ships, use weapons etc and these skill points accumulate automatically in real time (hours/days or almost week) for each one. That mean that even after years you won't really be able to compete the game "veterans". 4) Last but not least, i simply don't have any fun playing this game. Looks more like a full time job to me.

I liked SWG very much, most of its aspects. But i think this expansion was its highlight. I have never seen, before or after, a more fun and engaging space combat in any game, single player or MMO. Too bad Star Wars the Old Republic couldn't just copy paste it, instead of its arcade rubbish.

The best Elder Scroll game. One of the best RPGs. It had both a huge, immersing (and unique) world to explore and a great story. Set the standards far too high for the other games of the series. PS Very, very few bugs too, especially compared to Daggerfall!!

Based on the original Everquest 1, with much better graphics, EQ 2 was supposed to lead the MMOs like its predecessor. But then WoW came out. EQ2 originally tried to keep up the legacy of non solo able content of EQ1 (even worse) you had to get a group (real hard) to do anything really. WoW had tons of solo content and PvP. So WoW became the new king of MMOs and still is. Things changed later for EQ2 but it was too late. Still, its a huge game, with tons of quests and nice community. Its graphics haven't aged well though.

A great game at its time, also there were too few of them then It defined the MMOs for the time to come, yes even WoW, i know WoW fans may find it hard to believe it. Now some of its legacies were good, some not, still that was the Original!! In many aspects i haven't seen a better MMO like classes with role defining abilities, immersing world (even day/night had a major impact) etc. Still its lack of soloability, and the raid oriented content of later expansions left it with a relatively few dedicated players in major guilds and the rest moved to EQ2 or WoW mostly.

A game that had potential but didn't make a difference. Part of the reason for that -besides the abundance of bugs originally- is that its old school, same game play with Everquest 1 with a few innovations. EQ1 and even EQ2 were in the same league and better. Without its bugs it would be a good game for 2007, but now it looks aged especially in characters and animations. Still, has some great classes to pick from and it is f2p as well. Give it a try.

This game had the best starting area and great graphics at its time (2008). Also a nice combat. But that's it. Lots of bugs and not much of an endgame brought it low. Many things were fixed but there are better games out there now. PS This game has far too many 10s from accounts who voted only AOC and its successor. Too suspicious.

Skyrim is a good game. Great graphics, landscapes, a nice world to explore ****, could have been better, should have been better. Much better. Main drawback is the lack of a moving story, **** story At the end you wonder why you bother to fight at all. No real interest for any faction means that you have no interest in game at all. And story is the No1 criterion for any RPG in my opinion. Compared to Morrowind and Oblivion is a step backwards. I hope this trend for better graphics instead of a better story to stop.(Daggerfall didnt have a great story either but had much more freedom in everything else).

I am a Star Wars fan, played Star Wars Galaxies and the Knights of the Old Republic 1-2. I expected more from this game as did so many others. It isnt bad but it isnt great either. Pros: Star Wars, companions, crafting, combat animation, dungeons, personal stories. Minus: End game, repetitive combat, wasted transition time between planets, space combat, lacking small MMO details that make world "real" like night/day etc. I was a subscriber, left and when i got back i found out that their "f2p" model is bad, even for me. I d still recommend to play it, raise a character to max lvl from each faction and thats it, dont ask for more.

GW2 is a buy only MMO with no subscription .Pros: Graphics and animations-by far the best, sound, interesting classes, pvp- both the tournament and the world vs world, good crafting, discrete store for fluff and not pay to win, attention to small details that make you feel like the world is "real". Minus: since they dont use the classic tank-healer-dps system, group combat becomes confusing, especially with pick up groups. I like the soloability of GW2 classes and their pvp performance but in dungeons, group pve is not fun-for me at least. It doesnt have raids but i m not so fond of them anyway. Some people love to grind for the uber weapon/armor. Not so here and i personally like it. Also it has frequent events, improvements etc. Overal: best MMO today.

TSW is different than most MMOs thats a fact. Some things are good, some not though. The settings, environment, sound are great, especially at first areas. But Look of characters and animations arent good. Combat is nothing special. Quests can be good or very frustrating. End game below average. PvP is bad. Zones are few and small compared to other MMOs. Overal its saving grace are the 3 first areas, they are amazing and you forget the negative parts. But then the magic slowly fades. Since released five years ago LOTRO had stunning landscapes -still has-, average looking characters and animation -still has-, below average pvp -still the same- and now added mounted combat. While its not bad, its not my style really. Still, they added 2 important features which i hope all games would have. Remote looting -loot gets in your bag automatically- and everyone gets exp from an npc if hit -GW2 has it as well. But i have 4 major concerns: LOTRO store-annoying and is dangerously close to pay to win, quests- especially the epic ones- must be streamlined and combat must become faster. Its the only MMO i almost fell asleep in combat. Last but not least game is becoming unnecessary complicated (tokens, legendaries etc). Overal its still a nice game, which respects Tolkiens world, but its becoming aged. Btw i m a lifetimer -who logs rarely now- and cant comment the f2p version of the game.
