The Hungry Horde8
Jan 7, 2015
The Hungry Horde is a simple, yet addicting game. Control a horde of zombies via the Vita's dual thumbsticks and try to grow said horde and reach the next checkpoint before time runs out. And that's really the gist of it. There are also a collection of mini-games that can be played throughout the main game or separate from the main game once you've unlocked the ability to do so. These are fun, silly little games that are surprisingly fun to play again and again to increase your score or, during the main game, help you on your run. For what The Hungry Horde lacks in impressive visuals makes up for it with its excellent soundtrack and lighthearted tone. Despite doing essentially the same things over and over, the game actually doesn't feel as repetitive as it should. This is namely due to the fact that checkpoints and levels change up almost every time you start a new round. Furthermore, challenges are always something to keep you busy once you're tired of simply seeing how far you can make it into the game. To put simply, The Hungry Horde is easily one of the Vita's most overlooked games. Its charm and addicting nature can keep you hooked for hours. The only real downfall is that the game is obviously a budget title and can be rough around the edges when it comes to frame rate stability and overall glitches. But if you can get past those basic issues, you've got **** fun game to play on the Vita.
