Alien: Isolation10
Jun 26, 2015
I have the Ripley edition of Alien Isolation which as well as having the main game where you play Amanda Ripley on Sevastopol Station, there is the Crew Expendable mission where you get to play one of the the original crew of the Nostromo from Alien as well as the Last Survivor mission, which has you playing Ellen Ripley attempting to set the self destruct system of the Nostromo and trying to escape aboard the Narcissus.

Black Mesa10
Jun 12, 2015
Black Mesa is now available to purchase and download on Steam and is currently on early access. It costs £14.99 on Steam UK and it's well worth it. It's impressive what the Crowbar Collective have done by taking the seminal and classic Half Life and re-mastering the game using Valve Software's Source engine. So visually it's much improved over the original Half Life and if you ever played Half Life then you should enjoy Black Mesa.

DOOM 35
Dec 12, 2014
I have the Steam UK version of Doom 3: BFG Edition and sometimes play the game as well as the expansions: Resurrection of Evil and the Lost Missions but as I still have the original CD's for The Ultimate Doom, Doom 2: Hell on Earth, Final Doom: Plutonia Experiment and Final Doom: TNT - Evilution games I can legally play these games via GZ Doom. I actually prefer to play the old Doom games via GZ Doom as I feel they have better gameplay than Doom3 and were truly groundbreaking for their time.

DOOM (1993)10
Nov 30, 2014
I use Z Doom that allows you to run the old WAD file games on a modern PC and O/S and even in 2014 I still play using Z Doom The Ultimate Doom, Doom 2: Hell on Earth, Final Doom: Plutonia Experiment & Final Doom: TNT - Evilution. I do play Doom 3 but for me Doom 1 and the other games in the series that I have mentioned in this post are the best, so I would recommend Doom 1 on the XBox 360 for anyone who likes these type of games and maybe you will see why even today I still play the Doom games via Z Doom.

Aliens: Colonial Marines0
Jul 5, 2014
I have tried to like this game on the PC but to be honest I thought it was sub standard. I have the Aliens vs Predator game from 2010 which I think is graphically better, more atmospheric, has higher levels of tension & better level design than Aliens Colonial Marines even though this is a newer game. I have now uninstalled the travesty that is Aliens Colonial Marines. I am hoping that the new Alien Isolation game is a good one when it's out later this year.

Call of Duty: Ghosts8
Jun 20, 2014
I had Call of Duty: Ghosts installed about a month ago but never really got into the game. At the time I was impressed with the visuals and the overall experience of playing the game. I am going to give the game another go and this time I will persevere at the game to get further into the game.

GRID 28
Apr 16, 2014
I have just re-downloaded Grid 2 via Steam and after playing the game for a bit I find it's an enjoyable racer. It's not a full on simulation type game but it's still a good game. The game shouldn't need a top of the range PC to run on but if you do have such a machine then you can set all the graphical options to their highest and the game looks good.

The Elder Scrolls Online10
Apr 7, 2014
I have reviewed the game on April 5th but I have now played it some more and it's better than I initially thought. I have played World of Warcraft but I got a bit fed up of the cartoon style visuals in the game and graphically The Elder Scrolls Online is a big improvement over the visuals in World of Warcraft. So if you enjoy the single player Elder Scrolls games and also have or still enjoy massively multiplayer online player role playing games then I do suggest you give The Elder Scrolls Online a go...

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance8
Mar 30, 2014
If you enjoy hack and slash type games and would like a game based around Raiden then Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is a game you should get. Graphically it's impressive on PC and personally I use a wired Xbox 360 controller so I haven't had any issues with controlling Raiden at all.

Titanfall10
Mar 24, 2014
I would recommend Titanfall on either PC, Xbox One or Xbox 360 to anyone who has any of these three systems and enjoys first person shooters. The game has that just one more go feel that makes it so good. Graphically it's not amazing but the graphics do their job and yet the game is enjoyable.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Ultimate Edition8
Feb 26, 2014
I would recommend Castlevania: Lords of Shadow to anyone who enjoys 3rd person type adventure and combat games. As the game looks reasonably good but not amazing it will run on less powerful PC's as opposed to only a high end system.

The Lord of the Rings: War in the North10
Feb 23, 2014
I think this game will appeal to fans of the hack and slash genre. More so if you have a passion for the works of Professor Tolkien. The game focuses on events in the Northern part of MIddle Earth and the gameplay is set at the same time as Frodo and the Fellowship of the Ring are travelling south towards Mordor and Mount Doom.

Velocity Ultra10
Dec 9, 2013
If you own a PS Vita and are a fan of shoot em ups or not, I recommend this game. It's got good graphics and sound. The control method is easy to master and the game won't disappoint. I think it's only available via the PlayStation Store as I have not seen it in any stores that sell PS Vita games.
