Warriors: Abyss7
Feb 24, 2025
Pros - - Easy to learn
- No BS, can just jump in and fight
- Plenty of builds and move sets to choose from Cons - Balancing is ABYSSmal, struggled to kill the first boss 8-9 times and then finished the run 4 times in a row. The difficulty makes no sense considering it's a genre that promotes replayablity

Pros -
- Combat is passable
- World is aesthetically pleasing
- Game pass means no extra cost. Cons - - Characters will make remarks to your face even if you don't have godlike features. Godlike features all make the character look ugly so you either break immersion by not having them or have a piece of mould growing out of your head to fix immersion.
- Characters yap continuously
- Story is boring
- Path of Damned makes enemies into high health chores if using a weapon even 1 tier below their tier. (upgrading a weapon at a realistic rate requires you to be in a tier higher than your weapon's for the materials.)
- Art Director is a racist

World of Warcraft: The War Within4
Feb 24, 2025
The best expansion in 7 years, which isn't a huge achievement when competing with 3 of the worst expansions Blizzard has released. Everything about the expansion screams mediocrity. The raid is fairly average, and once again ruined by the insane amount of weakauras and addons needed to clear it on Mythic (especially Ovi'nax). The world content is miserable. Do 20 waves of defending against adds that die in 3 seconds every week for some rep and a mount. Complete a theatre play by afking after 1 minute and waiting 10-20 minutes for your rep. Complete an assignment for 1 OF 3 reps in Ahj'kahet by doing TEN tasks or FIVE world quests every week for 20 - 25 weeks to max each of the reps. Delves are a forgettable experience but we will no doubt be suffering with them for some time as Blizzard's next pet project. The dungeons are fine, but there is no justification of playing mythic plus at a competitive level if only 5 specs are viable for a whole season without any meta changing balance changes. This leads on to another problem. Bad players are 4/8 mythic 2800-2900 raider io. Average players are 5/8 - 6/8 mythic 2901 - 2999 raider io and Good players are 7/8-8/8 mythic 3000+ raider io. This leaves absolutely no room for pugs to shine and hitting a brick wall like this in both mythic plus and raid feels terrible considering how free the first 4 bosses of the raid are on mythic and how free anything up to a +12 is. The amount of payed content and advertising is disgusting for a payed service game. This expansion has seen Mt Dew, Razer, Steelseries, 30th anniversary and SIXTEEN shop mounts including an auction house mount for $90. One big positive is the Hallowfall zone. I've not felt impressed by a zone like this since Suramar
Xal'atath isn't a terribly written villain like the Jailer SO FAR.

Dungeons 49
Dec 4, 2023
Pros: - Humour works well, not too overbearing - Graphics and art style are good
- Streamlined. Very easy to learn. Cons: Achievements are 100% campaign based. It would have been more fun if some of the achievements were bigger accomplishments from other game modes in the mix. Gotta agree with Thalya in that the portals spawning anywhere in the dungeon on certain levels are fairly annoying as they can spawn in a room besides a finitude stone or in your graveyard destroying your undead spawners and voiding the 'no damage' achievement on the finitude stones

Alien: Isolation8
Nov 3, 2023
When I think of the original Alien movie and what a game based in the same universe would look like, this is the closest I can imagine a game getting via the horror, sound, environment, plot e.t.c. Pros: - Does justice to Alien as a franchise.
- Makes use of atmospheric horror and build up brilliantly.
- The story is decent Cons: -The item parts seem fairly pointless / overcomplicated
- A minor complaint is the lack of gore in both the death animations and the scripted deaths of the game.

Project SNAQE3
Oct 31, 2023
Pros: - Decent take of a classic game, not overly butchered. Cons: - The input delay and lag in a game like snake is one of the most frustrating things one can experience. This game suffers from this the higher the difficulty and the more 'cars' collected. - Gets boring fairly quickly, there's little innovation and it doesn't add enough to the game to keep my attention.

It's a good concept executed terribly Pros: Level design is good
Monster variants are balanced Cons: - Multiplayer almost never works. From lobbies not appearing to failing to connect. For a game advertised as being multiplayer, the multiplayer capabilities are pretty junk.
- The game is insanely shallow in terms of character and weapon progression, there are 3 upgrades to every weapon and then nothing. The perks are mostly useless and don't add anything fun or noticeable in terms of player power.

Forza Motorsport8
Oct 16, 2023
Pros: - A lot of settings to change the amount of difficulty present when racing, from AI speed, penalties, car maintenance and damage to assisted driving.
-The multiplayer is fun, while I don't usually play racing games, the multiplayer has been a blast as I never feel like i'm being left in the dirt with 12 - 24 players. I have a suspicion Gamepass also brought the worse players to the game so my skill-level is matched more fairly to them. Cons: - The amount of practice time present when playing multiplayer is excessive. When joining a featured multiplayer event with 2-3 minutes left, you still need to wait 7-8 minutes for the game to start. This can go all the way to 30 minutes depending on how early the lobby was made.
- The same problem exists in career. While you can skip practice, there should be an option to not have to enter it in the first place.
- The last Forza I played was Forza Motorsport 2 and the feeling of progression in that was brilliant. The recent Forza's don't have this. You begin with an option of 3 above average cars, cars are easily accessible and the upgrades are too. You don't feel like you're working towards anything. You're just racing for the sake of racing.

- Trash role and character balance.

Pros: - Clear progression system.
- Each resource has at least 1 use.
- Easy 20+ hours of content.
- Fairly relaxed game, rewards idleness via the player house which is a nice feature. Cons:
- Sometimes crashes when autosaving, will still save but a minor inconvenience nonetheless.
- Had a bug stopping my produced lubricant / super lubricant / biofuel from being transported from the island it was created on unless I was not near the island.
- Controls can be slightly clunky. E.G. having to drag an item to the bin everytime you want to delete something, autotargeting not prioritising enemies / progressed tame, no copy paste for storages.

Pros: - The town building is fine. You're able to build houses to get more dwarves, juggle economy between income and expenditure and make some unique buildings for different functions.
- The combat is fine, it's a simple attack / guard / dodge system.
- Some of the quests are decent. While there are a lot of repeating quests. The game also give you some unique quests which are actually quite fun. For one quest I had to visit a lich's mansion and find the lich to cure my townsfolk. Cons: - The movement is quite choppy. it doesn't feel smooth.
- The world is fairly empty to begin with. When quests appear more instances are generated but just free-roaming holds little value.
- It can get rather repetitive. As mentioned with the quests, a lot of them are repetitive.

Pros:
- Cool progression system and can grind when getting stuck on harder difficulties.
- Simple placements of defenses make it easy to see what is happening.
- Incentivises capitalising on certain upgrades and defences to counter the enemies attacking. Cons: - The sound is fairly bad and the background noise in the level select plays on a short loop which can quickly become annoying
- Feels like the levels go from 1 - 10 in an instant on the higher difficulty. For example: Level 3 is fairly chill with 14 waves and a range of flying, ranged and ground enemies, then level 4 introduces civilians and a tonne of enemies with 20 waves with only a few spaces for building.

Not really had any issues playing the game on PC Game Pass so unsure where the review bombing is coming from but it's an alright core game which I imagine they'll build on and make better with content updates. So far I've had a fairly average experience with a few frustrating bugs relating to stealth breaking. which include:- I am Calling in a radio while holding body and then going into alert with radios left.- Guards going into 'search' mode when escorting me off the property despite following them and staying in orange circles- Default 'Mask Up' and 'Grenade' on the same button is a pretty terrible design choice and has caused me to throw grenades and blow cover many times- 99 Boxes blue keycard not even needed.

Easily one of the best run and guns that exists Pros: - The boss fights are well designed. - The difficulty suitably matches the zones with a few exceptions which isn't necessarily bad as it sets the challenge of the game.
- The difficulty is mostly organic and nothing that ails the player occurs because of poor game design.
-Artistically phenomenal, perfect animations, sound effects and uniqueness. Cons: - The normal levels are actually the weakest part of the game. I find the level design to be subpar compared to the bosses.

A fairly Overrated game for something so ordinary. Pros: - The controls are easy to learn. - There can be a sense of accomplishment upon completing a challenging section of the game. Cons: - The amount of un-skippable text can become annoying. - The game is incredibly basic and uncreative. It's a glorified 2D platformer without any features that differentiate it from the hundreds which already exist.

Two Point Campus6
Sep 22, 2023
Pros - Each campus has a unique feature added into it which you then procceed to use in the following campuses. This is good as it keeps interest and doesn't overwhelm the player by adding too much at once. -The artstyle is fairly clean, it's easy to see what's going on and it matches the goofiness of the game. Cons - The amount of repetition in the game can quickly make it into more of a chore than anything. As an example, having a side objective of getting 85% hygiene in a massive campus will mean you have to spam place bins from 5-10 minutes to cover the heatmap the game gives you and waiting 3-4 minutes for the statistics to properly update. I personally don't find this to be fun. - Following on from the previous point. Spam placing bins, toilets, rooms, decorations and vendors is the most efficient way to win the game and this just makes it counter-intuitive as to what the genre is.

It's fair to say that the game has had massive improvements since it's release including a huge amount of content, such as new maps, new items, new vendors, new missions and even a new story as well as constant bug fixes. Pros: - The amount of survivor traits, missions and loot placements in each playthrough makes it so that when you want to start a new game it doesn't get boring. - The zombie types are well designed. They all have unique abilities and feel like they belong. - The different difficulties encapsulate the type of playthroughs someone might want to play perfectly. The Green Zone difficulty is good for a laid back run, Dread Zone is more for someone who wants to be challenged and Lethal Zone is for someone who wants to strategize pure survival Cons: - I feel that the characters have a very unattractive look, when compared to the first game, the faces of characters look worse. - Although the base building is satisfactory, I feel that being able to build your own base from the ground up would have been better than having a prefab base with custom slots.

Pros - Challenging game which tests reactions and impulses. - Simple to understand - The class variety extends the life of the enjoyment in the game. The Forest (2014)5
Sep 22, 2023
Pros: - Encapsulates the Base Building Survival Horror genre fairly well. - The theme of the game is good, the idea that you've crashed on an island of cannibals alone is believable and sets the tone of the game. Cons: -There is little in terms of actual goals besides the story. I feel that this game suffers from a lack of endgame more than any other Base building game. Once you've set up base and seen what there is to build there's actually no reason to delve into the system further. - The story itself is fairly uninteresting and I found myself going into caves way too many times to progress. - Some of the later enemy animations are clunky to the point they look goofy and remove some of the horror from the game.

Pros -The graphics are fairly ground-breaking for the time the game was released.
-The difficulty makes the game feel progressive. the last couple of areas feel like end-game zones due to the jump in difficulty.
- The world building and zone design is fantastic, the diversity of biomes and the map design is S tier.
- The holiday events are very in-depth and add a lot of content to the game.
- The story is fantastic and the main reason I wanted a sequel Cons - There can be a lot of screen clutter due to the party size and abilities overlapping one another.

Pros: - Fun combat, animations make combat feel satisfying.- Boss design is good. Has a high amount of challenge and- Does well what it sets out to do. Pretty successful usage of Pinocchio / puppet theme with a dark tone- The environment feels fittingly melancholy in a good way.Cons: - The way in which stats read when comparing items is confusing.- While the environment itself fits the theme of the game, it barely changes and assets are constantly re-used.- Story is shallow.- Very basic. Only strength and dex weapon types and 6 stats to chose to level up- The fable mechanic feels unnecessary. The game would be more fun if it didn't exist as you can use it to cheat boss special attacks instead of timing a guard and the fable arts are only useful when you know you wont be attacked out of it.- The need to weapon repair also feels unnecessary.

Pros: - Does well what it sets out to do. Pretty successful usage of Pinocchio / puppet theme with a dark tone
- The environment feels fittingly melancholy in a good way. Cons: - The way in which stats read when comparing items is confusing.
- While the environment itself fits the theme of the game, it barely changes and assets are constantly re-used.
- Story is shallow.
- Very basic. Only strength and dex weapon types and 6 stats to chose to level up

- The need to weapon repair also feels unnecessary.
-The latter half of the game is difficult for all the wrong reasons. The game becomes a tedious trial and error and memory game of trying to match a boss's animations with timing a guard. The problem with this is that every attack from every boss is delayed in some form, and some become accelerated mid animation making it impossible to react to on the first try. There are also certain bosses, such as 'Walker of Illusions' which, instead of rewarding being able to perfect guard, actively punish you for it by making the boss stagger window impossible to capitalise on with any heavy weapons. Door Guardian is another example of a boss in which all of his attacks have a delayed animation which becomes accelerated mid-way through, making it impossible to react to forcing you to purely rely on muscle memory. The fact the boss is a gimmick in the terms that you can only do meaningful damage via staggering him is insult to injury as it forces you to time perfect guards, memorising frustratingly delayed attacks. Some of the animations also look exactly the same. For example both the door guardian's un-blockable have the exact same animation, 1 being an accelerated instant hitting kick with no prompt besides the red, and another being the slam which also has little movement and accelerated from 1 - 10 in speed making it only block-able from use of memory.

This game feels like the perfect example of quantity over quality if i'm being honest. Sure, the map is huge, but the core of the game is flawed. Pros: - As mentioned, the map is huge, there's a lot to explore and a lot to keep you busy. - The graphics are great. Cons: - The story is mediocre, it's not terrible, but it's not great either. I didn't ever want to find out what happened next when progressing through it. - The combat has an arcade feel to it in the worst possible way. There's a dodge, an attack and an ability button, that and the fact it's 3rd person makes it feel like i'm playing a flash player hack and slash. - The combat and movement in the game feels clunky and delayed.

Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord9
Sep 6, 2023
Pros: - Progression in gear feels smooth, going from a peasant wearing cloth to an absolute tank in full plate is great. - The progression of the clan system is similarly smooth, starting as a clan of 4 (2 adults, 2 children) and being able to expand through birth, marriage and warfare. - The scale of the combat is obviously the biggest positive the game has. - Lots of choice in character types. For example: can be a leader, a trader, a blacksmith, a medic, a bandit, a mercenary, infantry, archer, crossbowman, cavalry, ranged cavalry e.t.c. - Manual sieges are fun either attacking or defending. - There is mod support which is always a positive. - Graphics are good. - Each faction fits a realistic theme of historic civilizations. For example the blue faction is associated with Vikings as it is positioned in the cold and they wear fur armours and use patterned shields, whereas the red faction is associated with medieval feudalism, is positioned in the meadows and forests and use chainmail and plate armour. - Trading is well designed, takes into account demand and expenditure as well as what nearby settlements are supplying. Cons: - The diplomacy can sometimes feel random in terms of randomly having war declared on you without reason. - The tournaments start to feel repetitive after a while.

I personally find this game to be more enjoyable than vampire survivors. Pros: - The progression feels smooth. - The controls are easy to learn - While clearly inspired by vampire survivors, the weapons and upgrade combinations are fun to experiment with. - The maps each have their own mob types and niches which make the respective level more difficult. E.G. the forge level has sentry turrets that shoot at you. - The game is much more difficult than Vampire Survivors. - There're lots of characters which each have different stats and starting abilities which mixes up your runs. Cons: - The difficulty can sometimes turn the game into a grind, especially when attempting the purple star levels. - Some of the visuals can be hard to see, and you can take damage as a result of this. - There's only 5 maps as of writing this review.

Cons: - There is no sense of progression or powering up. Aug 30, 2023
Nostalgia aside, this game, nearly 20 years later still holds up better than the majority of today's games, That in itself is an insane feat. Pros: - The story is actually interesting. While clearly directed at a younger audience, there are still narratives included which older players can enjoy, none of the humour feels forced or out of place like it does in modern games. - The different weapons are fun to use. Being able to use a hoover to **** up smaller enemies to throw them out at bigger enemies is a nice little gimmick, to name one. - The arena is a nice little side area with some cool bosses and obstacle courses. - Doctor Nefarious is just an iconic villain and I'd say he's easily the best villain from the Ratchet and Clank series - The different planets as missions is quite a unique way of introducing new enemies and environments and it makes the player actually want to progress through the story to see new planets. Cons: - Although I didn't mind them, the Clank levels in which you control Giant Clank just don't hold the same value as just playing through the rest of the game. - Some of the hacking minigames can be a little frustrating and it brings you out of the action of the main game

Pros - Private games with 4 close friends are probably the most fun you can have playing this game. - There are regular updates and events which keep the game on life support. Cons: - The ranking system is for low self esteem people who are weak-willed as you can't even be demoted. It's like spoon feeding babies. - There is STILL massive lag and discrepancy in hitboxes. Jumping over a pallet or window from a killer and moving will sometimes still allow you to be hit from afar. Huntress STILL hits you from around corners. - Playing with randoms is one of the worst experiences imaginable in most circumstances. Survivors will camp unhooks instead of working gens, killers will face camp and tunnel out of the whazoo, if you 4 kill as killer god help you because you'll be getting passive aggressive messages calling you trash. - The more killers and survivors which are released, the more of an unbalanced mess the game becomes. Ever since the perk and prestige rework the game has dramatically gone downhill.

Pros: - Fun with friends. Building a base inside a town and clearing it of infected is a fun little adventure to be had with a group of friends. - There are plenty of different items and skills which can change your playstyle depending. For example you can use light armour and a bow and upgrade sneaking skills to be harder to detect and faster. - The random generation of maps can be fun as it adds a bit of variance to the game. Cons: - The graphics are fairly bad. I normally don't focus too much on a game's graphics but 7 Day's graphics are noticeably poor. - There is no endgame. The only thing to do is continuously complete quests and fight the 7 day horde. Other than that you begin to realise that there's nothing tied to the end game and it feels shallow. - The achievements are insanely buggy. Most of the tracked ones just don't track progress or unlock. - Melee combat becomes fairly stale. The gist is to back step to avoid a swing and then use the cooldown period to attack. There's not much more to it than that.

They each feel different and can be built in unique ways Cons: -in no way, shape or form worth a 7 year wait from it's predecessor. -The dialogue in this game is some of the cheesiest woke nonsense i've heard. None of the jokes are funny, The accents pierce ears and none of the new characters are interesting. -The villains are boring. Pros: -The graphics are decent. Nothing amazing but they are better than F13 and DbD's. -The current maps are fun and after about 15 hours of gameplay I am still learning them. -The killers each have their unique perk and drawbacks, as do the victims, making each character different. -Leatherface has a nice touch of beginning with the victims and being able to get straight into the hunt. Cons: -The balance is a bit off, Sissy can follow without pause and has insanely high stamina, whereas the cook almost collapses after running for 3 seconds and can't crouch or go through tight spaces. Connie can almost instantly unlock a door with her ability whereas without it, it takes about 40-50 seconds. It's insanely overpowered. -The game is not solo player friendly. Everything seems to have been designed in respect to being in a group with friends on the mic. Trying to play alone is difficult as other victims / killers will deliberatly / accidently sabotage the game by turning off exits or making noise. -There are only 3 maps (not including night/day). As good as the maps are, 3 maps isn't enough. -Upon reaching level 15 the exp has become an absolute grind. -You need Leatherface to start the game. This should at least be removed for private matches as in some cases nobody actually wants to play the character.

Cons - Resistances just don't work. - Cold is broken and accounts for 50% of deaths, the other 50% being disconnects - Disconnecting is common, and in hardcore this results in instant death. - The energy build - use rotation of skills gets stale insanely fast. I think anyone who argues otherwise is not being honest. - The combat and animations are fine. - The story is interesting. - You have a wide range of role playing options, you can do more than you can in other games. - It really showed us which Developers would rather bicker about a good game rather than create one themselves. - No microtransactions is only a good thing. - No fps or crash issues. Cons - Some of the characters' dialogue comes across as more fan fiction than realistic. - Larian Studios copy pasted Divinity Original Sin 2 far too much, from the ruins, to the interactions, to the loot, to the text. - Like Divinity, the loot doesn't feel rewarding. A rare glove that provides 0 armour and an effect that I may use 10% of the time is not something I look forward to receiving. The basic gear even has fixed stats so every piece of gear I pick up has the exact same stats. - I feel like the difficulty options are cosmetic when quicksave / load exist as it removes any challenge. - There is no customising of the eye shape, height, weight, nose, lips, ears or body tattoos, removing armour makes neck tattoos look unpolished with seeming. - Bugged a few times. Sometimes my character, or characters I need to interact with, will not be interactable. Oftentimes just needs to be reloaded but this lowers immersion. - While you'd expect the climax of the game to be the best, I feel like Act III is the most disappointing and it seems clear that the team put the most effort into Act I and it slowly begins to show. - As much as I like role-reversal, the lack of strength orientated men as followers or even NPC's is quite disappointing. It's true we have Halsin, but he feels too kind hearted to be a ruffian strongman follower.

Pros - Smooth Gunplay - Fun solo or with a group of 2/3 - Difficulty scales with party size quite well - Graphics are clean - Atmosphere and environments are great. Each major zone feels completely different to the last Cons - The bosses are quite gimmicky, the majority of them consist of the adds they summon being the main problem/focus of the fight with the boss being a background feature - Both a con and a pro, the randomly generated campaign / adventures can be a curse for collecting as items you are looking for may just not spawn after exploring. This does add replayability however as both the locations of items and the bosses can change.

Pros - The combat is acceptable - There are rewards for exploration Cons - Alienates the original Everspace fanbase by scrapping the roguelike concept of the first game for a mediocre story driven sequel. - Uninteresting environment. Everywhere looks the same. - Encounters are extremely repetitive

Pros - The levelling on this game feels impactful. When I gain a skill point I feel like my character is getting stronger. - The main story bosses from Act 1 - 10 are all well designed. - The environments are detailed and fit the theme of the game. - The end game has an insane amount of choice and content. - There is also more content being added and older content being updated. - The class and skill diversity is wild. - Contrary to popular opinion. The game isn't really that hard to get into, the only drawback is the amount of 3rd party sites which may be necessary to follow a build. - The work and research you put into a build is rewarded by the outcome of said build. - There are millions of different items, and hundreds of different uniques, - It is easy to see what is happening on the screen. Cons - Some rare enemies can be more problematic than unique bosses. This is especially the case in newer leagues as they have not been balanced. Some of the rares can often kill even the tankiest of builds. - Some affixes are poorly balanced and over-tuned. For example, corrupting blood has always been a strong affix and even has certain builds' attempt to counter this by making themselves immune to the affix over playing through it. - The lighting in the Sirus fight is abysmal and this is not helped by the floor textures used which overlap with his abilities.
