Unsure why the reviews were so low on this one. Maybe its run time as its a solid shooter. Has the feels of unchartered gun play if not the excitement. Well acted, good story, interesting weapons and QTE gives it a bit of variety. Great atmosphere too.

What a game. Hard and rewarding. Some boss fights were a night mare! I grinded and upgraded him to max and still had to repeat boss fights many many times. The level design and combat were really good and the variety of attacks and weapon progression was great. Fab game!

Hard as nails but really great. The boss fights were trial and error and needed proper attention. The game flows so well and level design is great. A great souls like.

Really great game and atmosphere. The boss fights are pretty hard but rewarding. Loved exploring the world and managing the inventory which was sparse. Didn't have a difficulty level for me to wimp back on so had to finish it and it was worth it. Great game!

Yeah, fab atmosphere and like the first a great throwback to the early Resi Games. Ran out of health for first boss so had to start again. Combat stodgy but I didn't mind, happy to admit I went to assisted just as the combat makes it unbalanced as you can't see the enemy a lot of the time! The rest of the game makes up for it with its vibe but if they sorted combat it would be a 9 or 10. Great game!

Combat is quite stodgy and the last few levels throw a lot of combat at you which is its weakest point. Atmosphere solid but misses a tad compared to other Silent Hill games. Not as good as the Silent Hill 2 remake but worth playing.

Unfair of me to give it less. Maybe it’s because I am quite busy but found the early stages of eating combat and the menus really hard. Probably because I am not a PC gamer so found that all really clunky like going in and out of the map. Fab story and looks great and I played Balders for 150 hours I just didn’t have the patience to keep eating and repairing my bloody coat !!

I really liked it. Good story and solid gameplay. Lack of fast travel was a bit of a pain, and I found tracking the quests a pain until I changed that in the gameplay settings near the end. Respawning enemies a bit of a pain but the lack of ammo and back pack size means you have to play sensibly. Really enjoyed it overall.

Really enjoyed this. Completely shameless souls like but great atmosphere and difficulty. Had to grind a few levels to finish it but the combat was solid and recommended to all souls fans! Bit like a cross between Bloodbourne and Dark Souls. Solid!

The game of the year edition DLC was fantastic. Brilliant game from beginning to the end. Loved the skills tree and side quests. Fantastic

Any D&D fan would love this game. Shame only to level 12 but that is more than enough time spent. 150 hours plus and I wanted more.

Just so well updated. The map compared to Tormented Souls is a great help and saves a great deal of time. Good length. Boss fights OK. The Eddie fight was just annoying in the end but the game balance and atmosphere was so good.

Very familiar to old school resi, even to the piano of safety. This is harder in the lack of saves and combat camera angle which drops the score. Some of the puzzles where pretty obscure and I had to use a guide when I was two hours without a save to make sure I didn't waste my time but will definitely buy the second one and found the atmosphere and familiarity really excellent.

I am 49 so it took me a while to get used to the menus etc and what the hell was going on. But a great game, completely different to anything I have ever played before. I really enjoyed the cinematics and once I got into the road building and the brilliant ziplines I couldn't wait to play it. It took me ages but was worth it. Just an original game and really polished. Once I could skip the irritating "BT's are close" cinematic it made road travel really easy. Great game

Its funny going back to it after playing that, the two others and Bloodbourne. Keeping boss weapons, knowing where to grind souls etc makes such a difference. I loved the pain of it the first time, i completed it first time not actually having an internet connection. 60 times, count em for Ornstein and Smough. Completing the game was a real rush. This time around I got platinum and that nearly killed me. Graphically not the spectacular jump forwards. but knowing the dragons tail trick, cheat, whatever and knowing to farm rats for humanity etc etc and grinding souls on the wolf made it a great second playthrough. Icekyng.

I actually really like the game so far, just finished chapter 6. Just did the stealth part, yes its annoying and lowered the overall score. The guards are all identical and if I am honest a pain in the ass and stopped the flow of the game for me. But overall i like it, good atmosphere. The whole character upgrade path is OK, but boy did I want to punch those guards in the chops or knock one of them over the head and hide them in a cupboard!. Looking forward to playing it tonight so that is a good sign.

I really enjoyed this game. It looked great and the combat was great. Loads to do. Very punishing killing the Valkyries and getting a platinum but a beautiful game. The trials drove me mental and the ravens,,,, those bloody ravens. But worth it in the end. I am hoping the next one unlocks the other realms? Loved it.

I am a quarter in and got on PS4. It throws you no tutorial at all and the combat feels stodgy but then I found out I can dodge and use r2 for a slow down effect. Bit repetitive already and lining up the focus to open a door didn’t work even though was doing it right. 6 out of 10 at the moment, but I am intrigued. Care and attention has been put into this game and I will finish it out of respect for that.

Yeah, I was suprised. The caning people gave it seemed a bit unjust as i thoughts it was really good. The difference between big budget games and the production is evident as this plays like a dream. The east end feel of the helghast are not as threatening as a home game at West Ham but its getting there!! Queeny, god bless ya. Good weapons and certainly contains a few real tough bottle necks. good plot, lots of swearing, happy days.

Mmm, i thought it looked a bit grainy??? Re release in HD please. Incredible matcho snake talking nonsence but enjoyable in places. Repetitive. Repetitive. Repetitive.

I hate caning games because i can appreciate they are hard to make and time consuming and the people that make them genuinely care about the product. This is diabolical to the point of tedium. Online/ offline its the same and its got some great ideas that are hampered by unsatisfactory game play and a stodginess that seems dated.

I was a pro evo purist until December 2010. Not any more this is a top 5 title on any console ps3, xbox the numpty wii. LIke excel you use 10% of the actual potential in the game and like pro evo 5 its a grower that knocks on perfections door. Its got the kits and its got lag free servers. Pro evo cannot come back to beat this in 50 years. Thanks pro evo for showing fifa the way.

Excellent game. Whats this new idea about having to print off the blinking manual? its a total nightmare if you don' t have access to a printer to start with!! That aside the team who made this did a fab job in the depth and layers the game consists of. Mirandas charms are worthy of a ten alone but your motivations for playing the game either way actually drive you in a compelling plot. The spaceship seems a bit complicated at first but its actually really simple in layout and the game moves along at just the right pace. You need a manual to understand the combat to start with though or it seems a bit complicated. Mining planets is really fun and the sub missions can make the game 40+ hours if you want it.

A solid and enjoyable game. Break the back of it and its got some all round good elements to it. The graphics are really good and its certainly got value for money written all over it. Its a crime the popularity of this game made it such an afterhought to many when its a top 10 ps3 game. The team who created this should be proud of the strong graphics and evident effort that they put into this game. Almost a ten. (but i have never given anything a ten since resi 4. : )

An original gaming experience, nothing really like it. Cinematic and an interesting game. Strong engagement of the lead four characters really mean you feel something as the game moves on. Ground breaking.

Amazed this one has slipped under the radar so much. It really is very good. GT actually felt stodgy afterwards but GT is a different member of the family. Split seconds detonator challenges are excellent fun and will appeal to any stubborn gamers who don't like to be beaten!!

You are looking at this because its about to come out in HD on PS3. Get it now, its haunting, original and actually a beautiful game. There are few games like this anymore with this sort of desolate atmosphere but the feeling of exposure and vulnerability when playing it is palpable. If GTA and third person shooters are your only bag it really won't appeal, but for puzzle fans and gamers who are interested in emotive experiences buy it. Thank me for it later.

A true great. A stand alone great game with excellent graphics and story and everything the new Resi and Silent Hill wasn't. I have been playing games for 20+ years and this one has what I look for, a bit of polish and effort from the developers. Play on normal and the scarcity of the health etc is about right for new gamers and experienced gamers of that genre, its a challange and a claustrophobic and disturbing thrill ride. Its the Dino crisis of PS3 but hopefully the sequel won't be as dissapointing. Get on it.

Sit and watch a film or be in one? Its a no brainer. Humour, great game play, good weapons, I pity anyone who hasnt played it. WHY NOT IF YOU OWN A PS3? Replay it for the treasures and its still great. Its a line in the sand game like Lara, Resi and Pro Evo and at the moment its kicking Laras hiney. If the third is more of the same who cares? Why change a winning formula, (Lara are you listening.) Don't botch it by trying to be too different, its like footy- unbroken so why fix it? A great game all you need and more.

I now lend this game out to people to see if they are made of the right stuff. Its been returned on every occasion. Its hard but once the back is broken you HAVE to use co-op play to really enjoy the experience. Some guy helped me finish the hardest boss and died with a tenth of the bosses health bar left. He must be gutted, but you take your breaks as the game is so unforgiving. You inch along and learn more and more every play but its an investment, don't bother if you are easily put off, there are only a few of us who have finished it, and to be among them is an achievement in itself!
