This show has gotten stale as the writers have gotten lazy. In the early episodes, they did an excellent job of creating storylines and dialogue real people could relate to their own family experiences. Now, it goes for the cheap laugh. In episode 3, there are a couple of scenes where Luke is slapping Phil to "snap out of it". That plays out well in a SNL skit, but not in a sitcom that is pretending to poke fun at the family dynamic. Way too over the top.
