Ion Fury: Aftershock is actually quite good, even though it was dumped and then completely forgotten by it's publisher 3D Realms in favor of the much, much worse Phantom Fury. Aftershock never got either of the console realeses that it was initially meant to have, which is a shame because it really does elevate the value of the base game, while standing on it's own as a fantastic expansion that even the 90's Boomer Shooter's would have been proud of.

A true evolution of the narrative driven FPS that Half Life, and Half Life 2 birthed. One of the few "must play" games for all gamers. Go in blind, and immerse yourself in the moody atmosphere, and dark story. With an arsenal of guns and a host of powerful abilities via the plasmids, you'll be tearing your way through a fallen utopia beneath the sea. Now, would you kindly do yourself a fa vor and play this classic?

Grand Theft Auto IV was a technical marvel at the time of release, and boasts a physics engine that has seldom been topped in the sixteen years since it's release. Gone are the cartoony visuals of the previous three games in the series (for better or worse), but the realism they were going for was pulled off surprisingly well for a video game that released all the way back in 2007. The story and characters, while not my personal favorite, are among the best and most interesting that Rockstar has ever created. I've always thought of GTA IV as a sort of spiritual successor to GTA III (as GTA V would later be to San Andreas) and in that regard it's an absolute home run. When "The Lost and The Damned" and "The Ballad of Gay Tony" are added in to the mix, it's not hard to see why people hold this entry in such high regard. The only thing that holds it back from being a perfect 10 in my book is that the gritty, realistic tone often keeps it from being as fun as it really should be.
