Need to put a 10 in order to try and balance the rage this game is suffocating from... Honestly, it would deserve a solid 8. This game is the most authentic fun I've seen in recent years. First of all, it is a true Crackdown 1 sequel with all the cringing stuff removed: climbing is now really easier with an automated jumping move by holding L up and actual LEDGES ; and level farming is less time-consuming since it depends on what difficulty you're playing. Talking about that, going in on easy difficulty is a true walk in the park, but Legendary took me some serious time to get a hang of it. The game allows you to separate your agents progress from the different worlds (in different save slots for each) so you could easily go in normal for your first play through, then start another world on hard or legendary with your first agent and keep on leveling up his skills (for kills). You can go on Legendary directly with a brand new agent (as I did), but you'll have to be clever and plan your assaults strategically if you want to move forward, this clearly is the most challenging thing to do in this game and boy is it FUN. Collectibles (not orbs...) and races are done right and fun to collect. Orbs are numerous, yet you'll need to actively look for them if you want to get to the MAX level in agility ; when it comes to combat skills however, nothing too hard to deal with, as long as you keep on fighting and destructing and crushing and inflaming and electrocuting and BOOM anything that comes in your way. Graphics are amazing with their art style (and truly need a 4K HDR display) if you want to enjoy it the most. The Soundtrack is very enjoyable and fits perfectly with the environment. Only jumping and driving need a small amount of time getting used to it. Give this game a try if you own the Game Pass, honestly, you won't regret it if the game play fits your style, and you don't wan't to be bothered by some serious and long storytelling.

I'll simply start with this: I am no fighting games purist, just an enthusiast. I enjoyed the last episode, and this one lives up to it. First of all, I want to talk about the voice actings (hah, get it?) that are marvelous. Very nice cast, very convincing, and the different effects used to create a true identity to each non-earthling character are well adjusted. Sound effects are all the more impressive, you'll love to hear bones being smashed, flesh being ripped, blood splattering and characters screaming their lungs off (literally). However, musics are way too discreet, you'll simply notice the different jingles when winning/losing a fight. Graphically speaking, it is astonishing. I know... It is a fighting game, this is nothing compared to an open world game for example. But the universes are very well represented and somewhat lively. What impressed me the most is the skin texture given to each character, every close view of any character makes you feel like he is standing right in front of you. And continuing about the graphics, I have to point out the fact that this game could be a movie masterpiece. All of its story mode is made like a film. The story is very well written and driven, the actors are playing their part brilliantly. The environments are incredibly well detailed. Now some would say a two hours-long story is too short (and I agree with that if it was another genre in gaming), but hey, in my opinion, this suits it just fine. It is a fighting game, so having a long solo would not be an advantage, and there is a lot of other game modes to keep you entertained, that are the traditional towers and challenges. Gameplay side, it is Mortal Kombat, a few 'k'ombos per character, sometimes sharing the same button combination, it is up to you not to get lost in it. But, with all those compliments, why 8? Because its commercial plan is a shame. You are charged 70€ for 20 characters and 13 arenas, add 30€ for a season pass that includes four characters and some skins (not all of them, some of them, yes some skins packs are not included in the season pass). And the most bizarre thing is that some legacy characters appear and are fought in story mode ! They are in the game, but they are unplayable. This I cannot understand. And the AI is... Random. I played through story mode on normal and sometimes, I got wasted like a doorstep carpet. The AI would block every hit I try, and then kombo the **** out of me ; and sometimes, full opposite, I roll over them and even get some flawless victories. I wouldn't have pointed that out if this problem was not already present in previous MKs... Lastly, I want to point out the fact that the only way to achieve 100% is by going through the mobile companion app, unavailable on Windows Store. I do not want to buy a new smart phone just to go through a game, get this in your heads publishers. So to sum it all up, this game is great, but unless you are a big fan of the series or fighting games in general, you can afford to wait for its price to drop. I would definitely recommend it only for the cinematic experience it provides, and because it is beautiful and very enjoyable in multiplayer.

Wolfenstein: The Old Blood

What word other than "perfect" would describe this game... None. Welcome to the game that made shooters what they are today. Wolfenstein: The New Order was my Game of the Year 2014, The Old Blood is in a good run to do so this year as well. I miss these action-packed games where the only goal you had in mind was finishing them with style, saving the world by running all guns blazing in small corridors, destroying the **** regime all thanks to the hands of one man. MachineGames really showcased some amazing skills in game design, since they managed to refresh game mechanics that are up to 23 years old and still keeping them fun! Let's put that simply... Wolfenstein 3D, released in 1992, was the very first first-person-shooter. And today, W:TOB takes all the codes of the old school shooters like huge inventory, corridor levels with several approaches (go stealth or go tank, your choice), solid controls and character movement, a lot of variety in the enemies you will get to fight, and most importantly... BOSS FIGHTS ! (yes, plural, and they are to remember). But it is not only that... Where this game succeeds, is in the fan service. They even applied that to their business model, since you get a full game for only 20€/£20/$20 (just like the expansion packs we were accustomed to more than ten years ago...). Those of you who played Return to Castle Wolfenstein fourteen years from now will chuckle a lot, living very old memories all over again, meeting some old fellas, visiting places you've already been, discovering secret areas, etc... But the most astonishing part of it, is that you get to play Wolfenstein 3D all along, since they hid nine levels of the original game all along the campaign (man I suddenly feel older...). Enough about the gameplay, let's now speak about the technique itself... Graphically, it is prettier than The New Order, with lots of different new environments, new character models for the new enemies, and a very solid and updated rendering engine. The new voices and actings are caricatural and funny as usual, but they recycled the weapons' soundbank and the enemy soldiers' phrases (and seriously, I don't care, they were all fine last year so using them again was no bad idea). So there you have it, another Game of the Year competitor, waiting for all the players who were either too young or not interested enough in video games when that kind of game was common, or those like me who miss that golden age, when playing games was all about having fun and being a hero, living crazy stories. And it is cheap, you have no excuses for not buying it.

Besides describing this game as a true hack-fest, it is the proof that Valve doesn't give a **** about video games anymore. And it is the most over-hyped competitive game ever. Ballistics are way AWOL. Some pistols sharing the same caliber as an SMG will do more damage than their counterparts, and somebody can basically survive with up to 9 bullet wounds (eve, more) without, technically, losing all his blood. And this is where its major problem is. It has no gameplay logic, because it is 15 years old. Someone can survive a headshot, aiming down the sight on specific weapons doesn't mean anything, so you'll come to think your barrel is just bent. So you're forced to shoot one bullet at a time, and then you'll face an enemy, either having an M4 (the only weapon with 100% accuracy), or maybe he's going crazy on his trigger, and by some magic luck he'll put a headshot out of nowhere, or he's one hacking b******. Plus... Even pro players were caught cheating. I understand two reasons to this : the gameplay is broken, and it is not even protected. Valve Anti-Cheat is a pure joke. And the competitive bans are just plain stupid. I paid for this game, I expect it to play whenever I want (and not getting banned because I had something more important to do), be protected against cheats, and have a decent ranking system (I always get ranked down, even when winning games with positive K/D). So in a word... Thank you Valve for having Steam get you all the money you want (and having it ruin the PC games market by the way, why would I buy any AAA game at launch, since I'll get them 50% off three months later, so maybe the editors will stop making AAA games because they can't get the reward they deserve). And thank you for not caring anymore about what games should be, and ignoring your "fan-base" (or whatever you call it) with some dreams like Half-Life 3.

Rating this game is hard... Does it deserve a 7 because it has ideas, a somewhat deep universe, it's my lucky number (as well as Bungie's). But no, I'm giving it a 6, and that's why... Graphically, it's OK. It's not astounding, it's correct. Neat Textures, not saturated in blur effects, and good general design. But why 30fps ? Seriously... It just ruins it. Enemies keep dodging every time you shoot them, and you just have not this fluid impression allowing you to follow them correctly. Sounds are good, pretty convincing. And musics are... Well, it's Martin O'Donnell, its really classy, but they are too discreet, sadly you won't really pay attention to them. And now we hit the very hard point, gameplay. If you played Halo Reach, you'll feel like it you're playing it all over again. There is the possibility to aim down the sights, but you'll only use it on a sniper. It's like they couldn't at all cut their links to Master Chief's universe. It's aliens (they hide as soon as they take damage, and have three fingers at each hand, all just like the Elites, seriously...), with player attracted bullets. But instead of fighting the Covenant, in models and design, you'll feel like you're facing enemies from an older Bungie game: Marathon. And leveling is a pure joke. A higher level enemy means it will absorb more total damage, but you'll deal the same amount of HP with each hit (I destroyed a lot of lvl 9 squads while being lvl 5 without it really being harder), and randomly, you'll find a level ?? enemy, where instead of making an epic fight with him, where insistence will eventually make you win, he'll just take no damage (with a somewhat insulting 'immune' word popping out). Evolving weapon levels is a good idea on paper, but Borderlands/Mass Effect (and more...) just do it better, since whatever level your weapon is, it'll handle just the same, with no advantages what so ever, and even only one design per weapon category is here (one DMR, one AR, one sniper, etc...). Missions are just killing squads after squads after squads of enemies, and bosses are just bullet-sponges, just empty your magazine, hide behind a wall, reload, repeat. Multiplayer can't be enjoyed unless you reach a 'respectable' level. And come on... This can easily be a single player game, why can't we play alone... Come across a higher level player, he'll just annihilate your own enemies (at least you'll still win EXP if you're in his surroundings). I won't talk about story-telling, since it is purely trivial. You have the setting, and that's it. Bungie wanted the players to tell their own stories, but at this level, just make a fan fiction contest and put the winner in the game. There is no character nor event to remember. So... To sum all that up... It could have been way better. $500 millions in development? I doubt it, include advertising cost which must be impressive (Activision got us accustomed to that), and maybe we'll reach that. Good graphics quality, nice soundtrack, not original enough gameplay, laughable story-telling. Wait for its price to drop (I bought it 110€ and I regret it). This game can be qualified a disappointment, but I won't say that, it's more of a missed opportunity.

This game is a complete load of shame. They sell it to you, telling you that it is CMR2.0 in HD (one of the best rally games ever), but it is nothing like it. First of all, instead of making a true remake, they went for the Unity engine, why didn't they use the EGO engine, or the updated original one? Because it is the poorest port from a smart phone game I've ever seen. No multiplayer, no menu optimization (yes I mean you have a touch optimized menu on a computer), the original Martini Racing Ford Focus livery is not there, and crappy controls (some like accelerate and brake can't even be changed). Gameplay side, it has nothing to do with the smoothness of CMR2.0. Plug in a controller, and your joystick/wheel will feel like a button, impossible to go for soft adjustment of direction. Hell... Hitting a checkpoint panel completely ruined my car's body, and that I cannot understand... Talking about damage, engine, body, suspensions and brakes is the only ones your car can take (there was 10 impact points in CMR2.0 !!!!!). 4 cars in total (Focus, Impreza, Lancer, Stratos) unlocked by finishing rallies in a 1.5 hour long championship. Graphically, it is terrible... The blur effect is way too present, and seriously... Textures were better in CMR2.0... You can basically see the braking light sprite not fitting at all with the turned off light. And the inside camera is ridiculous, no wheel, no windshield impacts. And the sound is like the rest... They took the CMR 04 menu music, and made a 30 seconds loop out of it. Even with four cars, engines sound basically all the same. If you want a good rally game, Any Codemasters game prior to DiRT 3 is good (my favorite ones still are CMR2.0 and CMR3). This one is a 7€ smart phone game... Hi Codemasters, you ruined GRID already, made DiRT go away from rallies, so please leave CMR alone... We did not at all need this.

This game is definitely my favourite since the beginning of this year. One of the biggest license of gaming (and the oldest, I think it's interesting to say it) is back and it will definitely convince you that solo games are still fun to play nowdays. It is based on id Tech 5 Engine (the same one as RAGE), and it is doing great. Textures are neat, lightning is good, and it is incredibly smooth. It has a metallic environment and a dark atmosphere, and both really create a true tension. Model and level design are very interesting, since they really give life to the fiction. The soundtrack is fine too, very appropriate. They give a true sense of power to the weapons; and musics are accompanying the action well, but somewhat discrete. Voice acting is brilliant. Now for the gameplay, it is marvellous. You have a full control over your character, thanks to lying down and leaning options. And the possibility to dual-wield every weapon brings a whole lot of fun. And the best part is that you can go all guns blazing like a walking tank; or you can chose the shadow way, and going stealth all the way. The commanders can call for reinforcements in case of alert, and this really deserves the gameplay, strategizing it a lot, and I must not forget to mention the huge diversity of enemies. However, even on its hardest difficulty level, the AI somewhat fails sometimes (but very little). The choice you are given to make in the very first chapter, is minor, but it is interesting to see how the designers created every level, giving you different progress opportunities depending on that choice. Its replay value is huge. But where my heart found its pleasure, is in the fan service. True Wolfenstein fans will find a lot of easter eggs, in reference to the past episodes. And the different cliches are really enjoyable and very well implemented. This game is one of the best you can find, if you are looking for a strong solo experience. And the history this licence carries, with its one of a kind feel in atmosphere and gameplay will keep you entertained for long long hours.

Big fan of Ghost Recon. Biggest hater of this game. How on earth do they even dare thinking that this game would work ? That's pretty simple, basically, in this game, 99.9% of the "players" I've met in my 3 hours playthrough think "Scr*w the objectives, they just help me camping." AND THAT'S IT. There is no fun in this game. And the worst part of it is that I didn't see anyone playing with free weapons ! If you just think you will play for free, you'll see your progression not advancing (at all), and the best you'll get in a headshot is 37 damage at close range ??? WTF ???!!! If you have a minimum of self-love, or reason, or both, just say no to this piece of junk. Seriously, you'll be doing yourself a life saving gift.

Oh My God, this game is epic. Finally we have a multiplayer game with incredibly well balanced gameplay mechanics. Nothing is broken. They even managed to avoid perk abuse with the Burn Cards : you choose three of them from your personal deck before a game, and you lose whichever one you activated when you die. Being in a titan does not make you completely invulnerable against infantry (yet you have the advantage), and being as infantry, you won't get crippled down by titans if you can just be a little smart. What makes it really attractive, is that you don't need to kill or play objectives to get your titan faster, but simply damage your opponents (AI or players). That way, no kill steal nor abusive teammates will prevent you from getting a titan, and everybody will get at least one during each game. You can even build some strategies, since your titan's built-in AI can guard areas or follow and assist you. Realisation is great, yet not as (purely) technically great as RYSE when it comes about graphics, but still, textures are sharp, antialiasing does a very fine job, and models are very well-designed. Sound effects are completely credible, and the overall ambiance is astounding. The parkour abilities are so intuitive, you won't take long at all getting used to it. And I have to say, 6 vs 6 is just what it needs. The AI is here to balance things up, allowing overwhelmed teams to catch up when really in need. And most impressively, it makes camping difficult since they practically are everywhere, trying to slow you down (but not really hurting you), in order to keep dynamism in gameplay. Yet, I can't give it a 10/10 because it really lacks a true solo campaign. I understand why they had rather implemented a scenario within multiplayer shaped games in order to create a campaign, but I really don't think it would've been impossible to have a true solo campaign.

I loved the game, really. I loved the reboot, even if I think that the exploration part of the older episodes is a keeper. But seriously... This version is the biggest rip-off ever. Basically, you're being charged double price because Lara's model has been remade, and in my opinion, she looks less like a survivor this way. BUT THAT'S IT. This is the only difference this version offers. Everything else is the same. It plays the same, it looks completely the same (at least between PC and XB1/PS4 versions, concerning X360/PS3, it is only a matter of sharpness). THIS IS the game of the year version on X360/PS3/PC, at double price. But how on earth do they dare say it is a whole new experience ? Is it because there is a speaker in the PS4 controller ? Because on some climbing scenes, you can control the camera or examine relics with Kinect ? I won't even bother mentioning the useless voice commands... Now, if you really want to compare the XB1 and PS4 versions. Well... The XB1 version is a joke. I'm sure it could have been technically improved. Because the game is broken, multiplayer is unplayable, and noticeable framerate drops happen. This is not because the console is of lower performances, but the reason is it has been optimized like mixing beef jerky in a Nutella sandwich. PS4 version is okay, but still under what a high-end PC can provide. The thing is... For those who played the PC version, just don't bother. Seriously. And for the people who did it on X360/PS3, you can definitely wait for its price to drop. Don't allow the editors to get away with this. I came to finish it for achievements, and returned it right away. This version at full price is for you gamers who never EVER played it before.

First of all, I'd like to say that I am not a fan of the beat'em all genre. Not at all. So when a game brings me to beat it twice, in a genre that I dislike, THAT IS A GOOD GAME. The thing is... What people tend to forget is that EVERY beat'em all game is repetitive. Any game of any genre actually. So what makes Ryse different ? It is incredibly addictive. The story is amazing, every character has its own personality, there is work behind that. A lot. And the universe is completely credible, and though it is fiction, I had no problem believing in every happening story event. Gameplay side, the experience and character evolution is okay. Very classic, but still, you'll enjoy unlocking everything for your character, specially executions. And the game takes all its sense on Legendary difficulty. It is truly challenging. The AI is nothing like what any developer ever did before, since you'll feel like she's learning from your way of playing. Graphically, I won't even bother explain how perfect it is. I've never seen such a realistic render. Shaders are just impressive. Voice acting and all the soundtrack is of great quality. And here's the conclusion, this game is a masterpiece of art. It is going to draw you all the way in a Roman second century drama. Its realization, and story will keep you from stop playing it. I'll give it a ten, because I believe there will be a sequel, if it pushes further in character evolution.

The best gift Bungie could have give us before they leave the Halo scene. This game is a gorgeous diamond. The controls are awesome and dangerously responsive, graphically, no major issues, and the music are just to dream about. The multiplayer is really challenging and unique, since everything goes very fast. Skill is the deal. The negative point I would give it is that they could have offered us a better single player story. They should terribly have more respected the novel.

I've played this series since its beginning on the PS2, and I have to say, this never gets old. Awesome ambiance, great graphics (for the Wii of course...). The additions they put in this version are quite enjoyable, especially the Haunted House mode (random sounds/apparitions will occur while you hold the A button to walk/open doors, every movement of the wiimote/nunchuk is considered as a sign of fear from you, very funny when you put people who doesn't know the game and afraid of ghosts in front of it). And since I've played it already, I thought I wouldn't be as surprised as the first time, and I was wrong. They added new scenes, scripts, and videos (even compared to the Xbox version, some of them seriously scared the hell out of me). You're not gonna play it like before. Now to the bad things... The first thing you'll notice, is that the controls are awful. You won't play for hours since you'll get a cramp for keeping the wiimote steady so the camera won't go up or down, and even with that you will never get it to look forward correctly. Secondly, Mio and Mayu strangely speak with a British accent... I know that remaking a game eight years after can require making new voice actings. This game doesn't. At least not that way. Overall this game sadly isn't a new installment in the series (nor the fourth opus some of us are dying to get and see on our shelves), but since it has the best couple main character-immersion of the original trilogy, you will happily (re)discover this little jewel.
