"No fun allowed: The video game." It's a step down from BOTW in every way. Everything about this game is tedious, gimmicky and unsatisfying. The sky adds nothing but more empty space, the underground is a big open bowl that constantly blocks your progress with giant walls, the story and world map are both rehashes of their predecessors, and the entire thing is a derivative asset flip with a first party price tag. The garry's mod vehicles are gimmicks to the Nth degree, they're slow, awful to control and mandatory for most of the game. Want to build a plane to fly accross the map? Too bad, because the wing part will just vanish for no reason because no fun allowed. Every single weapon you pick up has to have another weapon or a monster part glued onto it for it to do any damage at all, but of course weapons still break every 5 hits like in BOTW, meaning that you have to stop, drop and glue every 5 seconds to be able to contend with the many many damage sponge enemies. The story is incredibly dumb even by nintendo standards, the flashbacks are even more annoying to find than the memories, and the sidequests feel like obligations rather than something the devs actually wanted to add. Nothing says "rewarding" like agonizingly making your way through a boring quest for 30 minutes to an hour, only to be rewarded with nothing but 100 rupees. You can get the same amount of money from breaking a rock. It's nintendo first party sludge for diehard fanboys, plain and simple. Almost $100 for the same game, but worse. Oh, and it still runs like trash as well as the cherry on top.
