This game runs extremely poorly on PS5. It honestly feels like a very bad PC port with minimal effort made to get it to run on console. Don't bother.

The Settlers: New Allies0
Aug 30, 2023
Let me preface this stating I have never played any of the previous Settlers games and I didn’t even know about this series till now. I have played plenty of RTS games like C&C and AoE and the like. This game is one of the most confusing and badly balanced games I’ve ever come across. Recently got it on “sale” for $60. I wouldn’t recommend this game at $6. Here are some issues we had with the game off the top of my head: For the love of God why would you have the Logging Farm cost WOOD, in order to farm wood?! We got 2 hrs into a multiplayer game when my wife ran out of wood (coz some buildings auto **** up resources if you don’t turn their production off specifically, something a beginner would not be expected to know at all!). There are trees right there but she can’t build anything coz it costs Wood to build the building that farms the wood. What sort of joke is this? So we had to abandon this game coz of this basic poor design, literally RTS 101. Can’t party up on Co-op. Invites just refuse to work and the system is broken and confusing. We ended up just both searching for a casual game at the same time and hoping we’d be matched and it worked coz no one else is playing this game since it’s so trash. Why on earth can you not select a multiplayer map or set up the AI difficulty or set up anything for that matter. No map, no difficulty, no win conditions, no setting up teams. Just the very pure basics of the game aren’t there. The store and skins seems to work seamlessly so we know where the focus for Ubisoft is. Multiplayer maps that keep you completely separated. As in your armies can’t interact and you can’t attack each other. Completely divided by mountains etc. and you have to win by other methods. I realised this was a thing for the series deep into a game, which is fine. But you can’t even pick the mode/win condition when you join a game. What trash design. Honestly this game is not worth your time or money. Save yourself the trouble and go play something else. Ubisoft seem to make very bad quality games lately and I should’ve known I’d get burnt on this. Very disappointed.

This game is not that fun to be honest. Not beginner friendly at all, playing couch coop is super lame when everyone else is dead and has to wait for you - HOW is there a no respawn mechanic. Not even between levels.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands4

The levelling and balance on this game is absolutely broken. Our party of 4 is just playing the campaign normally and regularly find ourselves 5-7 levels under levelled. Resulting in ridiculous grinds on the most mundane of enemies and sometimes even makes a bit hardest enemies impossible. Also the whole overland bit and the Pokémon like pop up enemies is just annoying and distracting to the game. The graphics also look blurry and definitely not what you’d expect in a PS5 game. Compared to the old Borderlands, this is just a poor game.

This game does what you expect of it well, good fun easy spammable controls, hordes of enemies, and great co-op functionality. It doesn’t have to make sense or look flashy if it’s fun to play with mates. That said, it is quite a short game and for $30 it’s a bit too short and some of the levels do seem too easy. Still fun tho and hopefully this ushers in a new era of actually well made classic style beat ‘em ups.

Hell Let Loose9

This is seriously one of the best military simulator shooters ever made. The game is tiny and efficient at under 8GB yet the graphics are brilliant and crisp. The environment is truely excellent and does these next generation consoles proud. The only mode is “hardcore” mode in this game. Nothing is easy and every kill feels earned. No kill cams, no HUD, no hit markers, no instant quick respawns. Team work is critical and you’ll soon learn that running and gunning is not the way to play this game. There is quite a steep learning curve and this is not for your typical COD run and gun player. If you stick with it and give it a real good go, you’ll see how satisfying and excellent this game really is.

This game was so unexpectedly good and polished that it takes game of the year for us. The game is smooth and the controls are sharp with really smart puzzles and game play. It is the perfect co-op game to play with the missus.

The enemy AI is very dumb and the game has plenty of bugs and isn't very polished. The graphics are less than impressive, especially for a next gen console game. For the price they're asking, the campaign is pretty short with only 4 'maps' (with 3 missions per map). That being said, the game is decent fun IF you have 2 other friends to play through the campaign with, it does have its moment and can be pretty enjoyable.

World War Z: Aftermath2

This game is currently unplayable on PS5 due to how buggy it is. It is constantly freezing and crashing, especially towards the end of missions where you lose all XP/levelling. 4 of us play on PS5s and this has happened to everyone consistently. Extremely frustrating as this new release has broken what was previously a decently stable release. Seriously disappointing.
