It’s a very good game and this review is going to be very short and mainly point out the flaws with other reviews. The low rated reviews all have the same thing stated “iT’S uNfAiR aNd tOo hARd!” Then they also mention how they can’t even score a shot and always end up in off man matchups. Well, I have played this title for over 30 titles, have 4 championships but struggled in the first season. I play on medium difficulty and usually beat my opponents so badly that it becomes a 1 v 4 scenario since all of their team is either injured for the game or dead. At first I really disliked it because I ****. Then I got good and I love this game. A lot of Arcadic fun that isn’t trying to be anything more. By the way, when you don’t have the puck, just beat up their guys and either a fight will break out or beating up the puck handler will get it back for you. Also, just like in a hockey game, don’t just go forward but also make sure you steer them to gain distance.

This comes from the same people who made Adventure Bar Story which is considered one of the best Indie Games on the 3DS. I have always like grid based RPGs since I picked up Fire Emblem Awakening but never had the passion or love for them that I have developed after playing Fire Emblem 3 Houses! This is a very good one and not to mention that there’s three titles with over 100 hours across all of them combined according to ****! Now there is always the need for true Quality over Quantity, but this has that quality most would be looking for. Very textbook in gameplay, story, and level design, but the game is beautiful, has amazing charm, and is just a joy for anyone with a love for SRPGs (Strategic Role Playing Games). The UI is not the most convenient or user friendly when it comes to preparation, management, and purchasing, but in the gameplay, it works smoothly. I picked it up on a $7 sale and honestly, I would’ve paid the full price! The gameplay can get repetitive, but that is something with almost every SRPG. However, for those of you that don’t find the gameplay loop of RPGs repetitive, this is an instant buy! I certainly don’t find it repetitive and the story of Blue Lions actually hits a bit of a branching point at chapter 7, which sets apart from most indie RPGs. Rideon Japan got the love and respect they deserved on the 3DS with Adventure Bar Story, I hope they get the love and respect on the Switch with Mercenaries Saga! For those of you who aren’t into RPGs, this may not be a good pick up for you, but for those of you who are, it’s a definite pick up! By the way, Rideon is similar to Square Enix when it comes to the majority of their games being RPGs, they have 5 Mercenaries titles (it’s a whole series) but if you want to get into the series, play this first. I’m currently going through 1 right now and after I play 2 and 3, I plan on playing the other games in the series (if I even have enough time XD)!

This is an absolute gem and severely underrated soulslike. I have played DS1, Bloodborne, DS3, Elden Ring, Code Vein, Nioh, and Nioh 2, as well as Mortal Shell of course. Mortal Shell was my first soulslike that wasn’t a Soulsborne game. Easily one of the best entry points for any newcomers to the souls genre. I picked this up on sale about a year ago and just became engulfed. With all the souls games I mentioned, ignoring nostalgia, my opinionated list goes: 1. DS3 2. Bloodborne 3. Code Vein 4. Mortal Shell 5. DS1 For me, Mortal Shell even beat out the likes of Nioh, Elden Ring (which is due to my distaste for the world in ER), DS1, and Nioh 2. Those are some of the most renowned games in the world and yet it made the top 5 and bested all four of those for me! This game is truly something special and while the story may not be much to write home about, oh boy the gameplay truly is. The hardening mechanic really makes it one of the most forgiving Soulslikes while still remaining true to the brutal nature! The gloomy atmosphere is only expanded by the sense of loneliness that I have not felt in many other Soulslikes or even Soulsborne itself for that matter. To believe that this game was made by an extremely small team is not only unbelievable but really shows the talent and love! I am really looking forward to either a sequel or just another beautiful game from these guys. If you can pick it up on sale, pick it up, you won’t regret it. Me personally, I would’ve paid full price and it’s easily worth that, but it goes on sale quite often. I can’t thank these developers enough for such a Lovecrafted game! (Quick Tip: Do not hoard tar on your journey, use it when you can and when you find value, dying with a load of tar will make you destroy your controller. This goes for all souls games.)
