FIFA Street (2012)7
May 25, 2013
If you're the type of person who loves performing skill moves or is looking for a decent, more realistic small-sided football game, FIFA Street is for you. However, be warned the friendly A.I. is terrible, there are a couple of weird bugs (not necessarily game-breaking), and there is nothing in terms of developer support. It is as though they released the game with intentions of building an in-game community (probably similar to that of regular FIFA) then completely forgot about it. Overall worth the buy if you are into smaller 3v3 or 5v5 matches.

Injustice: Gods Among Us8
Apr 20, 2013
As someone who doesn't usually like arcade fighting games, I've been getting a lot of enjoyment from Injustice. I bought it just so I could play as my favorite DC characters, and the game manages to deliver their might and personalities beautifully. I wasn't expecting much of a story (lets face it, stand-and-fight games aren't known for their award winning stories), however Injustice tries to break this cycle by telling a pretty entertaining story that also explains why everyone is fighting each other— cudos to the developer for even including a story. This is a great game that any DC fan should pick up.

Sniper Elite V29
Apr 10, 2013
This game is for those seeking a true sniper experience. The few flaws are greatly overshadowed by the rest of the game. Nothing beats the thrill of sneaking into a building, setting trip mines at the entrance points to cover your back, then crawling into an overlook to scout and pick off enemies from afar. Both the single player and multiplayer modes are awesome and fun to play. This game is the new gold standard for sniping. Great value for the price, I would recommend buying the Silver Star Edition (it contains all the dlc) for $30.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 27
Apr 3, 2013
Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 is a decent game that any hardcore sniper enthusiast should own. Not because it is groundbreaking or a solid game, but rather because games with decent sniping mechanics are hard to find these days. When you are looking through your scope at enemies, the game is great. Distance, angle, wind speed, target movement, heart rate/breathing, and trigger-jerk (i.e. gently and gradually pulling the trigger) must be accounted for, adding depth and a realism to the experience, making the game much more challenging and fun. However, when not looking through the scope of your sniper rifle, the game shows its many faults. Not getting into too much detail, the stealth is mediocre compared to current gen standards, graphics are underwhelming (although I must admit that the guns look great), friendly A.I. is pretty poor (they are more likely to hinder you and get you killed than provide support), singleplayer campaign suffers from a lot of "hiccups" or drops in frame-rate and has a number of severe bugs (one checkpoint required me to cover my teammates by eliminating targets, but for some reason my gun was missing; I was forced to restart from the last checkpoint before it gave me my gun back. I have experienced a lot of bugs similar to this, one of the weirdest being all the enemies missing from a level...), and finally the very frustrating inability to use your bipod whenever you want (you can only use it during certain "set-pieces"). Multiplayer is a refreshing experience, and stays true to sniping. I have really enjoyed the sniper duels that occur during online play. A couple of complaints are the lack of levels and modes (only two maps and one mode), lack of weapon customization, inclusion of the red dot that shows where your bullet will strike (this takes the challenge and intensity out of the game, however I've heard rumors that a patch with a "hardcore" mode is on the way that will remove this red dot cheat), and occasionally while crawling when prone my character will randomly stand up and give away my position (this is quite annoying). In summary, Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 is a cool concept that was executed very poorly. However, when looking through the scope of your rifle the game is pretty fun. Overall, I would recommend buying the game once the price drops to $20, and only if you have the heart of a true sniper.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier5
Mar 29, 2013
This brief overview is catered to those who have enjoyed the previous Ghost Recon games (as well as the Rainbow Six series). I have played every GR game ever made on consoles since they were released on the original Xbox. With this foundation of GR history, I can accurately say that Ghost Recon Future Soldier is a step in the wrong direction for the franchise. The developers decided on a more "fast-paced" style of gameplay, as opposed to the more tradition "slow and cautious" style. They achieved this with a slick new cover movement system and regenerating health, among other things. While a neat idea, the way they carried out these changes ruined the realism of the GR experience. Getting shot in previous GRs was a big deal, and could potentially end your mission. In this game you are practically a tank. I found myself able to just charge the enemy and pepper them with gunfire to get through tough situations. Another tweak is the lack of squad commands. I miss the days when tactical shooters were actually tactical. You no longer have full control over your squad; the commands have been essentially stripped down to only include the new "synch shot" command. It does take some thought to tell my squad who to target and when to shoot, it hardly compares to the old days of flanking, suppressing, and blindsiding the enemy. While the friendly A.I. are highly intelligent and will perform well during engagements (i.e. use cover and get into decent positions), the lack of commands results in almost no tactical element in the game. The multiplayer is alright, but once again the unrealistic health makes the game feel catered to a run-and-gun style of play. These are the major changes that affect the game, and I should note that there are many other details (gun customization, the new suppression camera, level design, very frequent cutscenes) that both add to and subtract from the GR authenticity. This it what it boils down to: If you are a GR veteran, I would recommend renting before buying, or wait until it's $20. However don't expect the classic GR experience. And make sure you have plenty of snacks, because the frequent cutscenes that occur in the middle of missions are loooong, and you can't skip those sob's.
