You've seen this premise in different forms, but you haven't seen the Sam Rami version. Don't go in expecting a horror movie; its not. Instead, think of it as a more violent and more playful version of Six Days Seven nights.

Disappointed at how bored I was. The writing was so corny and it takes a while for anything to actually happen

I was bored a lot. Didn't really care about any of the characters and even tho no movies have been made about COVID yet, I feel like I was expecting more compelling stories.

Sometimes the best looking movies have the least fulfilling plots. This is a good example.

On the surface, it looks like an uplifting sports drama about a bodybuilder. Instead, it turns out that this is more of a character study of a man who needs serious help and it just so happens that he is a bodybuilder. And while it may take itself too serious on more than one occasion, there are plenty of unexpected surprises that make the premise feel unique and will have you silently rooting for the hero in question.

Pretty good movie! Definitely a unique plot and a good mix of different genres.

Looks great, kind of a cool score, Adrien Brody knocked it out of the park. It is slow paced, and a lot of the scenes felt unnecessary to the **** you have a short attention span, you might want to skip this one

Its nice to look at, which makes it hard to say just how good it actually is. If the same script was put in the hands of anyone that wasn't as meticulous with each shot, it may have come off as an overly melodramatic reboot. With that being said, I did have fun for the most part; despite there being some unnecessary dialogue and maybe, might I say, a lack of carnage.

It starts confidently then gradually lands in the same pitfalls as most horror movies

Maybe I am becoming a snob, but I don't want to watch overindulgent scenes that contribute nothing to an already dull plot. It's hard to be engaged to a story that doesnt really go anywhere but implies through editing that it is building up to something. It almost feels like we as the audience are being cheated. Two Thumbs DOWN!!.........................good acting though

Like Barbarian, this was undersold for how scary it actually is. The premise doesn't break any new ground, but the jump scares are used effectively and the performance from the lead who I just learned is Kevin Bacon's daughter is enough to put this above an otherwise average mainstream horror movie.

'If this wasnt a "Brendan Fraser comeback movie" it would be a schmaltzy made for T.V melodrama. And in all honesty, he's not even that good in it. It's just Brendan Fraser and since he's been missed from movies for so long, the General Public just missed him so any drama role would have gotten him the Oscar just because of the timing. Put me in a fat suit and I'll do just as good of a job if not better. And I'm not even an actor! Don't get me wrong, Brendan is a nice guy. I like him, And he's definitely going to get the Oscar, but this movie is trash.

I really do think that whoever made this movie, (didn't bother to see who it was) thought it would be hilarious to make the most boring movie ever and market it as an arthouse indie drama and made some kind of bet that it would end up getting great reviews. Just because something is abstract, doesn't mean it is art. I think the main point of any movie should be to entertain. I don't know, maybe its just me, but watching a lady eat pie for 5 minutes alone in her house, (or anywhere for that matter) is not entertaining at all!

One of the main themes of this movie is Greatness/Perfectionism. As someone who is very critical of movies, I always find myself thinking "yeah, this movie is **** it's not GREAT." Normally, if a movie is great, there will be at least one scene that changes my mind. This scene has about 5 of them. And they aren't subtle either, they jump off the screen and make your jaw drop! One of the best movies of the past decade for sure.

When you take away all the special effects and the multi million dollar budget, all you are left with is a mediocre script that feels like something that would have been better as a made for TV animated special. With that being said, the technical aspects are impressive and you can tell that a lot of effort went in to making this movie look great. However, you can only look at a piece of art so long before you start to get bored.

This is a legitimate horror movie disguised as a mild thriller. For the first 15 minutes, you think you have seen this movie before....trust me you haven't
