RAILGRADE7

It's frustrating... I really want to love this game. The first levels are so much fun, the graphics are fine, and the atmosphere is nice. It looks like the train dioramas you saw in those toy stores as a kid. BUT the timer just destroys it for me. You have to hurry up to get the best grading and unlock new stuff when you just want to take your time and build awesome train worlds. And often you get new objectives mid-level when you already have built rails everywhere, so it's easier to just restart and waste 15 minutes of playtime. Many things to like but the game design ruins it a bit for me unfortunately.

Pandemic: The Board Game8
Aug 9, 2019
Classical Pandemic gameplay. If you know the board game you know this game as well. Local multiplayer up to 5 players, touch controls, two expansions included (coming for free in September), works perfectly in handheld mode. Great for a coop session pandemic on the train :-)

Great sense of speed, responsive controls, looking great and running smooth. Old-school arcade racing fun. No multiplayer though

The switch port is just bad. The loading takes for ever, which completely ruins the flow of the game. the resolution and the frame rate ****. the gore effects (don't lie - that's why you bought the game) look very ugly especially compared to the pc or ps4/xbox versions.

Skies of Fury DX8

Cool game for a fair price. I missed something like Ace Combat for the Switch and this quenched my thirst for now. The graphics are a nice, the control tight and the gameplay is fun. The could be more variety in mission design though - there are 3 different types of mission which repeat all the time. But still I always come back for 3 or 4 mission. At the moment there is no better flying game on switch so I can only recommend this little indie gem.

Urban Trial Playground6

Another decent Trials clone. Far less polished than the Xbox / PS4 Trials series but still fun for a short period of time. Not only because it becomes repetitive quite quickly but also because it takes just 2-3 hours to complete the game. I only played it in handheld mode and the graphics are pretty blurry, not very nice to look at. 20€/$ are a bit much for this game but if you are into this kind of games (Trials, Joe Danger etc.) you can definitely have some fun during a long train ride or while watching TV. Just don't expect too much or wait for a sale.

Mantis Burn Racing4

I was expecting much more after reading the positiv reviews here. Of course the game is okay - the graphics look good and drifting around is fun for a while. But driving on the same tracks over and over again, with little to no variation is just painfully boring. I played for around 4 hours as well and have to agree with esreverse - I don't see me coming back to this one.

Picross S8

Well, no surprises here. It's Picross. If you liked the Picross games on DS or other platforms, go for it. I was immediatly hooked, because it's as addictve as always. Fluid controls, lots of puzzles and simple but challenging gameplay.

Moto Racer 43

It's always nice to see an old-school arcade racer. No open world, fast paced gameplay, easy to pick up, split screen - it's all here. And unfortunately it's all bad. The controls ****, graphics are bad, difficulty is just unfair and frustrating and the sounds are horrible! There are some nice ideas in this game but it's just no fun. Just buy the fantastic trackmania turbo instead.

First things first - this game is pure trash. And I love it! It's like watching a 80's creature-feature b-movie. Cheesy, campy fun. I won't deny it, the graphics are okay at best, the driving ist plain bad, the cutscenes are hilarious (misogynist comments and racism are all over the place) and you basiclly kill every endangered animal on the planet. But like EDF, Carmageddon and Godzilla I had some very funny hours with it. Killing tons of lions, elephants and whatnot i slow-mo with unlimited ammo brings me back to the times when i started gaming as a kid. It's refreshing to play something that is not a calculated, morally-correct Triple-A Blockbuster. I have nothing to do with hunting, would never kill an animal but just love blasting through Africa with my shotgun. That's what games are for - to do stuff you never would in real life. If you love 80's action and horror-movies and silly video games - go for it! But don't pay more than 15$ - it's on sale all the time.

From a technical point of view the game is fine, the soundtrack is really cool, the controls work perfect and the 3D effect is really good. But for me the game is just to repetitive, all levels look the same and i can't find enough motivation to play through the game. I also don't like the fact that you have to play through a whole world to make progress. One level is fun but 10 in a row is too much of the same for me. I don't dig the art style as well and the different skins barley change anything. For under 10$ the game alright, despite the flaws i don't regret buying it - but check some videos first to see if it's something for you. If you want a New 3DS exclusive with great 3D and cool soundtrack give it a try - but don't expect a game that you will play for the next 50 hours...

There is a lot of potential here but it's all destroyed by the frustrating gameplay. Winning is just a question of luck. The rubber band ki overtakes you in the last corner of a perfect race, the police is only hunting you, one bail and you already lost. So you're just grinding for upgrades all the time and still then it's just luck to win the later races. good idea, cheap gameplay, ugly graphics - don't buy this crap. If you want good arcade fun stick to trackmania!
