Ghost in the Shell6

The visuals are good, the sound is great, and there are some genuinely enjoyable moments in this film. The biggest flaw is they are spaced too far between a plot focused on trying to be more profound than it is.

Delicate moments bring out the cringe in the gore, and when the gore's flying it makes you scared for future delicate moments. This movie is beautifully acted, shot, etc. Slow scenes only slightly damper it down because the characters are so enduring that you don't mind just hearing them talk.

Doctor Strange8

Inception fights scenes are met with gorgeous spell graphics and a strong lead. The clever humor can fall flat sometimes and the side characters are largely forgettable. But it doesn't hold the movie back from being a fun feast for the eyes.

There's plenty of humor ranging from raunchy to creative for the first 2/3. A cliche ending that's unsatisfying doesn't damper the belly laughs I had before it.

Kubo and the Two Strings6

Half the movie looks so beautiful it's amazing what medium it was created in. They are hampered by bad pacing, constant ambiguity, and a plethora of flat falling jokes though. Which is really a shame since the rest of the movie can be quite emotional.

Relying to much on surface level humor only gets you so far. It starts fine and ends fine, but the majority is bland. This type of film can be so much more than what this gives.

The Secret Life of Pets6

Kids will love it, but lacks the creative humor I was hoping for in a Louis C.K movie. The cliche story gets boring in places with so many characters. Overall though, there were plenty of simple laughs and fun moments to keep it rolling

This is the full flashy, witty, rated R Deadpool we were hoping for since the test footage. Dramatic when it needs to be, and hilarious every other second.Couldn't have been happier and worth the wait.

Through the painfully normal high school nerd friendships and self destructive, hypocritical main heroin, this movie gives some heart and chuckles. It's better spent with your actual friends though as you could probably have a better time watching Netflix with them

American Sniper8

While action seeking movie goers will be left looking for content, this story leaves an impression on your conscience long after you leave the theater. Patriotic and bold, it paints the tale of what soldiers face with such a strong desire to serve their country and loves their families, from the perspective of one of the greatest American heroes to bless our nation.

Inside Out9

This movie is getting a lot of praise and it's well founded. A fun animation style is coupled with the most clever humor I've ever seen in a movie. It drags on the progression in the middle for the sake of plot, but there's enough to enjoy in the minutes that it doesn't hamper it much. It's a fun adventure with lovable characters and inspiration ally unique ideas. In storytelling and laughs.

From the action scene in the trailer, I was pumped to see this movie. I went in hoping for an action packed, kick ass movie with great comedic moments. I was not remotely disappointed. The characters are generic, but that makes them easy to understand with so little backstory to go on. The action is crazy, the comedy comes naturally, and their are some genuinly innovative ideas here. It's such a great time that it made me feel the rare urge to hope for a sequel. Even without though, it's an outstanding rush for the senses

A thrilling experin de that pulls you in with the adventure right from the start, and keeps you going with deeper character development and humor. Seriously, it will make you laugh every 5 minutes and squeal in excitement like a girl for every action scene.

The movie itself is terrible. But if you skip past the story to listen to the turkeys killing it can be very amusing. Other than that it all looks like high school video club crap

As a fan of uncensored war movies, I went into this one with a positive mindset. That quickly went away after the raft scene. Or scense. That's the problem with this movie is that it acts like it has to little material to work with and lags on for far too long. Yes, we know that they were on the raft and in the camps for a long time. But we don't have to sit with them for every minute they went through to get that across to us. This movie had heart, but was to strung out with not enough excitement for me to recommend.

22 Jump Street8

Let's clear this up at the start, this movie has no plot. Its basically every awkward situation you'll ever have, but done with Hill and Tatum so you can still laugh. Which is what the movie is good at. It doesn't try to make you chuckle, it builds the situation through a painfully boring story to a side clenching laugh that'll have you. Honking for air and clapping like a **** seal for a minute straight. Those moments make this movie worth it.

How to Train Your Dragon 27
Jun 23, 2014
This movie builds off the original in interesting ways, if you haven't seen the first one though it'll be hard to get into. The charm of this movie lays entirely with toothless. For not having any dialogue he's the most expressive and enjoyable character. He's adorable and cleverly funny in unique ways that stick with you. It's unfortunate you can't say the same for the rest of the characters. Hiccup's confident attitude doesn't suit his voice anymore so his funny moments are gone. Asterid has become the annoying girl you hate your best friend for daring. Strangely enough it's the girl twin who's name you can't even remember is the only other comical relief in the film because of her infatuation with a new character. There are some tender moments with Hiccup's father that are heartwarming, but the rest of the plot is generally predictable. And the fights are regrettably boring because of the PG rating, making an all out war look like a nerf sword fight. Though it doesn't do anything unpredictable, the movie is still overall enjoyable and will have you feeling for the characters at times and laughing at how adorable it is the rest. Just don't go in expecting the imagination the first one brought you.

This movie is a shock for the senses. The fast paced action and comedy rarely leaves you able to even look away to do something as small as check your phone. The characters, good and bad, are all hilariously overblown in the most enjoyable way. Nerd or jock, you just needed to be a child at some point to get lost in this movie.
