Xeodrifter7
Mar 24, 2018
A throwback to Metroid on NES and 8-Bit style games, Xeodrifter has you flying planet to planet, defeating aliens, and collecting upgrades on your quest to retrieve a power core to your ship. There is a fair bit of difficulty to this game, specifically saving your game is reserved to your spaceship, few enemies drop health, and no fast travelling. A few clever gaming mechanics will have you nodding for the originality. The game is on the shorter side, but the price is fair. If you are a fan of Metroidvania’s and harder games, check it out.

Totes the Goat7
Mar 23, 2018
Totes is a modern day Q-Bert, that's perfect for a quick pick-up and play session. There isn't much to the game, you move title to tile, avoiding enemies which results in an instant death. Once you hit every tile, you are onto the next platform. With three lives, try to get a high score. Totes has a decent carrot-on-a-stick mechanic, where collecting in-game coins will allow you to unlock one of many different character skins, from Monkey, Cat, Hat, and even other Atooi franchise characters like Grannie from Mutant Mudds. The character skins also change the sound effects from your player, as well as the colour scheme to the level. This game isn't deep, it doesn't have power-ups from what I have played, it doesn't have any Rumble, Video Capturing, or online leaderboards, but it's very affordable at $5.99 CAD. If you're looking for a pallet cleanser between games, Totes the Goat is worth your time.

Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King8
Mar 10, 2018
For fans of top down The Legend of Zelda games, Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King is a must buy. You control Lily, a Knight of the Rose, as you fight through various enemy types. There are only 5 main dungeons which may leave you wanting more, but with the dozens of heart pieces to collect, and a sprawling over world, you'll have hours of gameplay ahead of you. The difficulty curve is satisfying, without being punishing. Pros: Classic Zelda-style gameplay, tons of collectables Cons: The overworld map is a bit lack-luster, and the game heavily borrows from previous Zelda games.
