I am giving this game a 10 because I feel it deserves a 10. My wife and I are having an absolute BLAST playing this game. We have had it since launch day and are only half-way through. We have actually been taking the time to try to collect all of the Star Coins and find all the secret levels as we progress, rather than go back after we finish the game. Honestly, I haven't had this much fun in a Mario game since Super Mario World on the SNES. New Super Mario Bros. Wii was fun, and New Super Mario Bros. 2 on 3DS was a nice change to the usual focus, but I don't think they hold a candle to the amount of fun NSMBU has provided. Level design feels fresh, the secrets are pretty well-hidden, and power-ups and Yoshi's really add to the charm.

The only reason I didn't give this game a 10 was because of the length: there are only 16 levels total (not counting bonus levels). Perhaps I am a little harsh as this game is designed to be more about achieve high score than anything. Other than that, this is a solid twin-stick shooter game and well-worth the $10 I paid. I was very impressed that the game is actually in LPCM 5.1 as well! Despite having very limited enemy types and an interesting art-style (you are essentially fighting on the cells of some organism, I assume a human), the graphics are amazing!
