Every aspect of VR in this arcade FPS is a solid 10. It might be short but you are not paying £50, it is £7 on Steam. And if you have DK2, it is a must buy.

At its current state game is solid 7 if you play on a monitor. There is a lot of good stuff in the game and a lot of shortcomings. As a fan of X3 I can honestly say that game is good space sim (for me). Comparing it to X3(we will pretend that X-rebirth does not exist) you are not getting player owned stations or NPC's working for you, you don't get to command your own fleet and you don't get to build your own industrial empire. But as someone who played X3 a lot I can say that managing stations and fleets were pain in the rear, thought the fact that you could own all that goodness was great. Now where E:D shines is: Beautiful graphics, fantastic sound, shared universe,mind-boggling vastness of the gameworld and THE BEST flight/combat mechanics in space sims, great deal of loadouts (do not try to compare it with EVE nothing will ever come close to that (unless procedurally generated)). Where Elite does not shine is: Variety of stuff you can do in game fight/haulage/exploration, multi-player there is no EASY way to play with friends (patch 1.2 should address that), P2P architecture of the game lends itself to hacking and exploitation (COH maphack style), there is no off-line mode, If you want the best ship in the game with the most expensive load out mmm... it's like you start playing EVE now and want to pilot a Titan (just joking it wont take so long, lets say Nighthawk). And for a new players there is not much of a hand holding and tutorials are not great (game dares to think that you know how to use google). I do not care about playing with friends (I don't have any :() and empire building aspect is not so important for me. I play solo, so I do not meet any hackers (though I am so far away from the popular systems that it wouldn't be an issue even If I played open). What I care is VR support and oh my this thing is mindblowing. You are in the spaceship you are the pilot. Once you played E:D in VR there is no coming back, every time you will play space sim on a 2d screen you will feel that it is just not the same, something is lacking it is not real any more . So +2 for that. I hope that SC will have VR suport of the same level (or better), but until SC is out E:D is the best space sim. Soon we will have more contenders Limit Theory, Eve Valkyrie, Enemy Starfighter, Star Citizen, Darkfield. PS: If you want to play in VR you need gtx 970 or better (if you have 270X or gtx660 don't bother).

If you play it on your monitor it is 5 at best. Game is ok If you are into pixel art and not knowing what items do. Then you play in VR it adds a lot, implementation is OK (not great follow camera causes slight motion sickness).+1 VR adds a lot to dungeon crawlers feeling of being in dark, gloomy place **** you in and +1 for that (can't wait for Diablo/Torchlight in VR).

Game is decent. Fun on the screen even more fun in VR. I would say Game is worth 7 and +1 for VR implementation depending on camera settings it can even induce slight motion sickness. For some it might be better game than BlazeRush, but VR implementation in BlazeRush is way better.

Fun game if you were a fan of Rock n' Roll Racing you will like it (but not as much RRR :)). But in VR it shines frame rate is solid visuals are spectacular and absolutely no motion sickness (I am looking at you Toybox Turbos). Virtual Reality implementation is 10 in every category. Prime showcase of the fact that third person perspective in VR can be comfortable and fun.
