Chickynator

This game is fun. The game is total eye candy, a different style from the original for sure but in many ways it's a good thing it differentiates itself from the original like this. Movement/platforming is a little worse than the original but the movement in that game is just perfect. I would love to give this game a 10/10 but there are a few things holding it back from the perfect score. A few glitches than are more frustrating than enjoyable, such as oddly small hitboxes on Spatulas making certain challenges a pain in the ass just because you miss the Spatula too many times. Random and extreme frame drops that have no relation to location at all since I could pass by the same place multiple times and not experience it every time and some times only once in one location. And one crash but thats UE4's special Fatal Error bs. A few miscellaneous bugs and glitches here and there that make the game odd and sometimes dumb like not jumping when on a trampoline or Bubble Bowl hitting a pebble and being shot into the stratosphere. These are my only real issues with the game and most of them can be ironed out quite well. Once the majority of these glitches have been resolved the game may as well be a 10/10.

Ultra changes. As in the game is still an average boring game but now there is a cool looking hallway going towards an annoying as hell boss fight that honestly is just better to use focus sash toxic and stall until it dies. Otherwise this is basically the same game. At least there are a few new better songs and a few story changes so Hau is less dumb and more Lusamine family history. Not really worth anyone's time because it wastes your time with forced NPC interactions just as much as SuMo did.

This game goes below average. It's utterly disappointing that this is all we get as the first title in the new gen. Finally on more powerful hardware yet barely any of that is felt in the game. Some areas are very aesthetically pleasing. Certain buildings and forests have great presentation. But gods above the textures and pop-in are horrid in the towns and especially the Wild Area. Routes are abysmal, barely any better than SuMo, which is not saying much. No dungeons, the fights are braindead easy. No Pokemon has not always been this easy. Play gen 3 games and try to have a full team. You need to put in effort to make it work. Here it's just such a short and uninspired 'adventure' constantly being interrupted every few minutes with more forced npc interactions than ever. Forget all the external issues with the game. It's pretty goddamn bad on it's own two feet without the context of the other games in the series.

This is quite honestly the best game I have ever played, at least in the puzzle genre. The randomness of the course of events adds a layer of confusion and wonder to the game. I can have a setup that doesn't work the first time but without changing anything it works the second time. There is nothing better than this game in the puzzle genre, Portal doesn't hold a candle to this wondrous game.
